that was good looking largemouth, I think you should continue this series, it's fun and entertaining plus its giving recognition to the smaller ponds, rivers or lakes, which could help better these fisheries and get them cleaned up. Good work jon keep it up.
Cant believe you caught the elusive life saver bag. Man i hope since you took her home, u get her mounted not to often u see share size. Love the vids bro.
@Jon B. time: @20:10 the greatest reaction, and it says it all as to how good of a friend you are. Cares enough right when buddy says let's get the f*** outta here, Jon b says "why", but already has it in drive 🤣🤣 Gotta look out, out here. Sad to think nowadays:( feels like yesterday you were just in the ponds going for some crappie with cranks, but now you're in Dallas watching your 6 24/7. Amazing video again, love the content you've brought lately.
I hate how Fishbrain started putting pretty much all the catches at each location behind their premium paywall. Pretty hard to get good info out of it for free like it used to be.
@@nate_stunts3162yes it’s call Google maps, looks for blue lines or blobs. They are called creeks, rivers, ponds and lakes. You go to them and try to fish to find out. You then remember where the good fishing is. After some trial and error you’ll be catching fish regularly.
It's fun to skew information on those apps. You really think it's wise to share ya fishing spots? Anyways I caught that ten pounder in the trailer park sewage lagoon. Hit it.
I hate to go to a fishing spot and see a lot of trash. Jon B encouraged me to bring a trash bag with me to fill up when I go fishing. I encourage others to do the same. If we all fill up a trash bag every time we go fishing, it would make a huge difference and make the fishing community better
I used to work near that first spot. The reason theres so much trash in the trees is because that area floods real bad (or at least it used to) during heavy rains and it brings all the muck from the apartments up stream.
Hey Jon have you ever thought about cleaning up some of these really dirty areas as part of giving back to the community? Think that could make a really cool video.
The lake you were sketched out at there is a secret spot that I’ve caught multiple 5lbers out of! The part you weee at is the spot you DO NOT wanna be haha
Could be a good video. Googans adopt one of these crappy waters and does a makeover turning it into a great fishery. Sure at least one landowner would be up for it. Could get volunteers to help clean up.
Hey Jon amazing video this week man! Wanted to ask ya what you preferred thoughts on line set up. Braid for bass pike trout and panfish? Or 8/12 pound mono? What are your thoughts. Thanks for your time
yeah josey ranch is overfished like crazy. every time i went last spring there were at least 3 other people out there. only caught 1 baby bass out there so far.
The ones that are super urban and have trash everywhere and might not be in the safest neighborhoods. Those(at least in my city) usually aren't actually bad places to fish. Because trashy as they are, they don't get fished a ton. The worst ponds(at least in my experience) are the city park ponds in the wealthier suburbs. They're clean and they look nice, but they're CONSTANTLY being fished. You can throw your line for 3 hrs + and not get a bite, but hey the water looks nice and smells good.
As a northern illinoisian myself I remember when lakelink was the latest thing! Me and my friends would post pictures of fish on different lakes and laugh when the body of water was flooded with lake linkers! 😂 forgive me i was just a teenager!
As a Kansan, it's our state conservation department that ruins waters. My hometown is a rural county in Northern Kansas. It has a state lake about 10 miles out of town in the middle of nowhere. A small 65 acre lake, but perfect size for the community. Built during the 30s and has always been a local hangout for holidays and family fun. It was a nice little lake with occasionally really good fishing. Well there was a big uptick in how productive the lake was. Not sure what happened, but the bluegill and shad populations took off, and with that the bass population grew as well. You could regularly go there and catch several nice bass. On a weekly basis, it saw maybe 7-10 bass boats. Some weekdays fewer than one bass boat and 1 or 2 boats on the weekend days. It could handle that kind of traffic well. Then the state Conservation department writes up a report on the lake and writes these tragic words: "this lake is turning into a really nice bass fishery". Within a few weeks, the lake was flooded with out of towners and out of staters. My brother and I just pulled up one day with the boat to get in and there were 3 boats ahead of us...5 boats in total on a 65 acre lake. It CANNOT handle that kind of traffic. Suffice to say, the lake went from a really nice spot to ruined in less than 2 years. You can fish hours and not get a bite now. The traffic has slowed, but not enough for the bass population to recover. There's still good catfishing in the lake, but it's worthless for bass fishing. And the state still hasn't taken the write-up down. I want my lake back :(
I would like to see you do this in the Saint Louis area. I fish a lot of the area's urban ponds and do really well. Shopping carts are cover, they hold fish.
Jon back in 2013 ive caught some 8lb+ catfish at Glendover lol. Me and my friend would pond hop in Allen. Spend an hour at each. I would catfish and my buddy would bass fish. There is a pond on Belair near glendover that I have caught several 10lb + cats at. Both ponds had loads of turtles.
John what happened to the pond rebuild series? Also if your going down south more to like Florida or something you should stop by one of the lakes on the coosa river and see if you can catch your PB spotted bass since there are giants on the coosa.
You just described most of the rivers and creeks here in San Antonio, nothing but trash everywhere. All the trash runs off from the streets straight into our waterways 😢.
Bro gotta go to garland-mesquite is really close and it's just full of bodies of water with so much trash but really fishy places. White rock lake for example, once found a body floating on and caught a drum on the same day. Duck creek is really disgusting but has 5-8 pounders swimming in it. Garland bro gotta try it.
Jon why don’t you sponsor some clean up days at these locations? You can sell some raffle tickets for some googan gear then use that money to pay the dump fees. Fans would love to meet you.
That was my review on the Josey Ranch Lake! What a surprise to see it! But you forgot to fish the much bigger pond right next to it. That’s the one that I posted about. Idk I caught some pretty good fish there but that place is tough even during the spring (when bass fishing is the easiest). But yeah it didn’t help when there was this dude fishing and posting all his catches there every day in the winter. I caught a huge one there once but I also snagged hella trash.
I mean if you think about it, it's pretty dope, stock trout are kept in a dark environment while transporting and then dumped from a plane just to wake up in a body of water.. kinda reminds me of my friends Halloween party where I got drunk and passed out in the bathtub, but woke up in the comfort of my own house next to my then girlfriend. Haha
Hey man that’s the hood where you fishing at I grew up there in the Colorado area they actually got some good 6 pounders in there if you lucky and a lot of bass by the playground they hard to make em bite tho
Hey John b I was wondering when you fish these ponds with smaller fish and that very pressured you could try bfs it could catch you tons more fish and bfs is very fun
