There will be plenty of collecting of albums over time, finally 311 succeeded in getting me as a fan, I knew them since the 1990s but now I'm really digging them.
Someone commented this is about an ayahuasca trip... which is seems to fit the bill. But, there’s a deeper meaning about our spiritual journey in this song as in many other 311 songs most people overlook or just don’t understand or care. Nick and S.A. obviously understand reality about as much as one can conceptually. The verse and chorus are talking about the journey toward enlightenment over countless lives and what one will experience once removing all habitual dualistic conceptions from the mind or ego. Moments I think I know the answer seems to elude me. Sifting through nothing. The sand you cannot hold. Destination nowhere... Reality can never be understood with conceptions or thoughts only experienced directly. When one question is answered more questions will arise. This process can never end. Once obscurations are removed one will experience the emptiness of reality and realize that there is nothing actually here, nowhere to go and nothing to do (or nothing worth doing) except help ease the sufferings of others. In my mind this is why 311 uses their music to help others have positivity vs. negativity. Negativity causes suffering to the one being negative and those around them and possibly all the way up to other people across the world. The song “inner light spectrum” from the album Transistor also refers to final enlightenment and how love and compassion will shine from your heart like a thousand suns. There is one thing I can say about this life we are living... let it flow cuz it won’t stop. And when the kind consciousness yes comes unto you... you will know that it won’t stop.

P-Nut's bass solo is so cool on this one. I give 'em credit for going it alone on this album, doing shit like this on youtube and thinking outside of the box. 311's positivity and creativity are what make them a great band and great people, and let me not forget their killer live shows. I can't think of any other bands that would play for 5 1/2 hrs & 60 something songs on annual basis and keep uping the ante every year with 311 Day being multiple days in Vegas, the 311 Cruises, Pow Wow...

Whenever people group this record in with their not-so-great period, I just don't get it. Yes, the same horrible producer as Uplifter but these 8 songs were the strongest since Evolver and its been uphill from there.

Why do they have to make a real video? They tour every year and release an album every couple years. They are putting a lot of effort into their music.
