The scary part is that the red silhouetted men are actually real people who has been mind controlled by the System to kill you. And you, the player think this is just a game (yeah, it is a game, mind you), you shooting them since that's what the "game" were all about. The guy who invites you to play the game is actually mind controlled by the System, tricking and lure you to play the game to make the game take control of you. You will eventually have your mind transferred and molded with the core, and ordered to kill your original body as seen at the ending, "freeing your mind" as the brain were still connected to the game. It is an VR type of game, after all. And thus afterwards, you repeat the same routine as the last guy by inviting and luring other victims to "play" the game and have their mind be taken over.

Did you miss parts from the game? I played it for almost 2h finished over 40 lvls and still got more, alo where is the part where the game makes you jump off of a building
