I used to watch the videos from Eggleston garden, then it somehow stopped. Today I went there with my dad, not realising it was the same place, and I recognised it!! Asked the lady there and she directed me here, to your channel! I'm so thrilled I can watch you again. Brilliant!
Hosta geek here! your noid is almost certainly "Liberty" which is a sport of "Sagae" there are two other look-alikes called "Ivory Coast" and "Majesty" also sports of "Sagae" but yours is most likely "Liberty" as it was marketed much more widely than the other two. Your new shed looks great as does the rest of the garden. It was so nice to get a glimpse of Amanda's beaver.
Dear Amanda, thank you for revealing your beaver. I often tried to imagine what it looked like. I agree with the American Beaver expert that it looked rather shaggy. Perhaps Malcolm could tidy it up with a delicate spring pruning😘
Just beautiful. And the garden is not bad as well. Thanks for taking us round your garden again. Such progress ! Thanks also to your supporting team. See you next month I hope.
I have just discovered you and enjoyed your video very much. I do admire the bamboo squares in the garden which I believe are plant supports. I garden on a slope and would like to copy your idea. Could you please tell me how to make them?
Hi Malcom……your garden is coming on a treat, I love it, I wish I had your knowledge and vision…..you inspired me enough that I think I’m going to copy your path Could you tell me what the sides are made of ….. take care and have a good day xx
Malcolm I just 🧡 your garden it is looking gorgeous (why am I not surprised?). A real garden. I enjoy the other components of your videos too. A joy to watch.
Can’t believe how fast your garden has come along it’s wonderful you are a very clever and talented man keep the good work up but don’t kill yourself lol xxx
Thankyou for sharing, I wondered how you were getting on. The garden looks amazing in such a short time. You have put a bit of hard graft into that pond. You are fitting the Potting shed out to perfection
Wow, you must have had a team of people in your back garden. That's amazing. I'm so impressed. Great video keep em coming and its great to see your old workfreinds.
It’s great to see the garden coming to life and take shape. Agree 100% there is definitely something peaceful and relaxing about digging. I hate double digging or “bast@rd trenching” though 😂
I'm sitting on my base element watching you digging Malcolm. So looking forward to your propagation area when it arrives. Your previous information on delphiniums and primulas have been really great. I'm pleased that someone with your experience also, "pokes things in to see if they'll do." Right plant, right place is a great maxim, but we all end up with plants for which we don't have an ideal situation. It's also really valuable to be reminded of how to pot things on. You guys do thousands, we do a few. So it's great to see how efficiently you work. Please would you consider talking about dogs and gardens? I know it's fashionable to think that one's dog follows one about with one's secateurs in a basket, but my 6 month old is trashing what he can get hold of.
What a fantastic garden you have made Malcolm - masses of trees and flowers but above all, the structures and paths. Your hard work has paid off already, and gives us plenty of ideas to follow. (Is your unknown plant 'Golden Root /Rhodioia rosea'?) Many thanks!
Ive seen some scruffy looking beavers in my time but Amanda's is one of the scruffiest ... the Garden is looking good ... Its amazing when you think what it was like before chrimbo
Wow! What a transformation and you're only part way through. You know what they say big feet .... big shoes! Some people see smut in everything on your channel - for some peculiar reason ;-)
Malcolm, random question, but in eggleston hall gardens, in your retail area where you stage your plants to sell, you have nursery fabric down on the ground. How is the ground under that fabric prepared? Is it just dirt, stone, stone dust? Thanks Malcolm! Love the videos glad you are still making them.
Hello Ryan……the fabric we use is called ‘mypex’…..there are several similar ground cover fabrics, it’s made of woven HDPE threads….they’re all the same essentially….just different weights and permeability…..but I wouldn’t get hung up on that. It can be laid straight into grass or clear ground….even weedy ground providing woody perennials are cleared as the will cause lumps trying to push through…..I have happily strummed grassland and pegged down sheets. The lack of light kills off regrowth. You need to peg it down well. If your in the UK you can use our suppliers to source items like this…..LBS Horticulture……look up ground cover….it may not be mypex but that was only ever the original brand name so we call all woven ground cover mypex out of habit now. Just make sure any ground is not too stony if your lining pots etc out as it will frustrate you no end. Hope this helps…..best wishes….Malcolm
Hi Malcolm - a few months or so I asked for the name of the edging you’re using - you replied thanks. Thing is I’m now ready to purchase some but cannot find your reply for some reason - and I can’t for the life of me remember what it’s called. When you’ve time would you mind telling me again. 🤔
Hello Ben……sorry for the delays. I’ve been so busy getting this garden into shape. It’s been a long task and I really wanted to show what can be done in a year. I’ve quite a lot filmed I just need to edit it up. There is also a very rude poem from Amanda….who’s getting over Covid at the moment….it’s quite dangerous for people of her pleasantly plumpness. Next couple of weeks I promise…..just finishing off the f***ing pond currently. I really do loath water gardening but it’s nearly done. Best wishes….Malcolm

Anybody else keep coming back to Plantmans' Corner hoping that Malcolm has uploaded another video.
From Jack Hargreaves making a thumb stick in his shed to Malcolm Hockhan making a measuring stick in his. Life has returned to a better place.
I was like today...WHERE'S my Malcolm fix...and low and behold this video pops up! This man is brilliant!
So happy to see you again Malcolm, best gardening on u tube.I really enjoy watching your progress and learning from you.Thank you so much

Hi Malcolm, looking forward to the next video
I'm here for the smut 😅
Garden is looking beautiful, all coming together, after all your years working hard you will finally get to enjoy your own beautiful garden x
Love the video and the beaver segment, even if it's a bit on the shaggy side. Great photos and love the doggy segment too.
Dear Amanda, thank you for revealing your beaver. I often tried to imagine what it looked like. I agree with the American Beaver expert that it looked rather shaggy. Perhaps Malcolm could tidy it up with a delicate spring pruning😘
Can't wait for more videos. You've taught me so much. Can't wait to see the propagation videos when you get set up in the shed.
I'm no plant nerd but that hosta is very reminiscent of guacamole but my google search suggests that I am surely wrong. Love your garden!
Malcolm you have been working hard. The garden is coming along beautifully. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and your garden.
Garden is looking wonderful Malcolm 🌳🌴🌿

Amazing work! Thank you for sharing.
You’ve certainly been busy Malcolm. Hosta looks like Sagae which I had in my old garden. Best Guy
Not a Hosta Geek here but a tech geek and the computer says (Fragrant Plantain Lilly) a species of Hostas.
Also known as:
• August lily • Corfu lily . Plantain lily • Maruba • Yusan
Tamano-giboshi-kanzashi
Botanical name: Hosta plantaginea
Just knew you where real busy. Love the new shed. Pathways look fab.
Good to see you again Malcolm

Pea gravel is soupy to walk on. Gravel with sharp edges is better suited to walkways as it doesn’t shift under you.
Doing a grand job Malcom, all ways super interesting :0)

You are a fun guy. 😁
Your garden is looking great! How do you keep your nails clean?
Wow! What a transformation and you're only part way through. You know what they say big feet .... big shoes! Some people see smut in everything on your channel - for some peculiar reason ;-)
I impaled my foot on a rake I left tines up. I'd like to say never again, but.....better than poking my eye out on a bamboo cane
a year later ... Hosta 'Afterglow'? I was quite slow at school too
