There’s a guy around here who was always on top of the club tournaments. On one particular lake there was a cove he would spend nearly his entire day in every single time fishing that lake regardless if the fish were deep or shallow but he’d still bring in a monster bag. One guy got curious, so after weigh in he went to the cove and started looking around. There was an empty dog kennel zip tied to a submerged log. Couldn’t prove that his fish came out of it, but he called him out and the guy stopped fishing local tournaments.

This video footage doesn't surprise me at all after i Googled Jake Runyon and read the article from the 21' fall brawl i think it was, and they had not only failed the polygraph, but then went on to pursue legal action for defamation, took another poly and then went on to say how they were pissed about their names being drug through the mud and how they pride themselves in their honesty and good sportsmanship.
So this just drives a nail further through the heart of this entire cheating disaster with these dirt bag thieves.

With hundred of thousands and even millions involved you’d think they’d want to make sure this was not going on. At the very least can’t someone feel the bellies for hard weights? It is amazing watching bass tournaments and these guys come up with bags of fish that weight over 20 pounds. There’s nothing like a bassmasters tourney or a major league fishing cup on Saturday morning ifs your not fishing. I’ve learned so much from watching these men fish. Seeing this really challenged my mind on what professional fishing means to us all. Sonar is the game changer that can push anyone over the the winners line, why would stuffing weights to win a tournament give you thrill? Because these men don’t love the outdoors and respect it like most men. Fishing is meant to challenge you and bring the best out of you. Fishing is becoming the world around us. Only for money.

They attempted to defraud persons and the event of thousands of dollars in prize money ($45k). That in itself is going to bring a year in jail, minimum. Furthermore, this is all over the news and social media everywhere. Everybody in their towns where they live know who they are and where they live. Both of them are likely going to have to move far away from where they currently live, and possibly even change their identities. If they have wives and/or girlfriends, and god forbid kids, they've likely jeopardized that. Fishing (cheating) in tournaments is likely their means of making a living. Welp, that's over now for them too. So now they're going to have to get real jobs and earn their money instead of stealing it at fishing tournaments. Who's gonna hire them or retain them once the employer finds out who they are and their character??? I sure as hell wouldn't. The difference between this case and others like it is that in this one, there's indisputable video evidence along with physical evidence. Indisputable! No defense lawyer is going to be able to defend these guys and get them totally off charges. No way. In other similar cases, there was likely not enough evidence to PROVE anything, hence the cheaters got away with it. That's not the case here with these two dirt bags. These guys have NO defense. None. There was a very similar case down in Texas in 2018 where a guy trimmed off a portion of the tail of a bass he entered in the tournament so that the fish would meet length requirement. He was arrested, charged with 3rd degree felony fraud and had to post $25k bond. I'm not sure what he got afterwards. The judge is going to look at that case and similar cases and refer to those when sentencing these two clowns. He/she has to, that's how it works.

Whatever punishment the courts will give them is guaranteed not to be enough! I know everyone makes mistakes but I’ve fished 1000’s of bass tournaments and I’ve never broke a rule knowingly EVER! In a big bass tournament we’re they paid every hour I had a big fish and was in a hurry to weigh it and forgot to put my kill switch on and won the hour and $1500 but when I realized what I done I self reported it and didn’t accept the check. Nobody would have ever known but in my mind I would’ve cheated every guy that did everything right and i had people tell me I was dumb for doing that and I know other people prolly done something that wasn’t right but I hold myself to a higher standard and a cheater isn’t something anyone will ever be able to call me my name means more to me than that!! These guys are trash and they will never live this down they and many more like them are what makes the tournament scene look bad!

If you are a potential winner you must take and pass a polygraph. If not you are disqualified for the prize. I sure hope these cheaters are held accountable in the court of law. For the rest of the fishermen, happy you only used words and not your temper and beat the pulp out of these guys.
