This video helped me realized where I went wrong in my first year exams, now I'm more motivated to aim high for a 1st. Thanks for the tips and trick Gareth; you rock!
I am a 2nd year law student and I’m glad to listen to your advices regarding legal studying methods to get a 1:1, sir. I was starting to doubt myself after implementing active recall, Anki etc from various sources online, but now after your videos, I would improve exponentially! Regards, Melvin from Malaysia :)
This was an excellent and informative video! Thank you so much for sharing this. :) (From the 6 min mark it was a little hard to hear you...a little muffled, I also have this experience on your other channel)
Thank you for your comment, I’m happy to hear you found the video informative 👌 And thanks for the feedback about the audio, I’ll definitely look into it and upgrade my microphone as soon as I can!
@@heygarethevans I had a question on academic articles, but saw that you answered that---it's true, the conclusion breaks down the main points and arguments nicely. :) Also, I had struggled with quotation use, and didn't want to overpower my work with it; you've shed some useful tips there. Thanks!
Do you have any tips on how to read academic journals? Like any structure you follow to analyse them? I have difficulty with summarising as well... I found this video really helpful! Thanks 😊
I’m really happy to hear that you found the video helpful! With academic journals my number one tip would be firstly to not try and ready too many. It’s easy to get overwhelmed with the amount of reading and it’s completely unnecessary. Secondly, all journal articles can be summarised into one or two sentences - you don’t need any more information than that. As a result, the most crucial aspects to read are the introduction and conclusion as they’ll offer you a succinct overview of what the author is trying to say. So get your understand from that, and dice into it further if it’s interesting 😀 I hope that helps!
@@heygarethevans I wish I knew this in my 1st year, but still it is not too late to know it at my 2nd year now. Thank you for your helpful video. Regards from New Zealand.

Hi Gareth, I have made my purchase on your ebook but received no the copy yet. Please advise.
Sorry for the slow reply! Have you received it yet? There are no outstanding order requests at the moment :)
@@heygarethevans I don’t seem to receive it yet - will there be a downloadable link I may get access to?

Can you do one of these for dyslexics?
Sure, I'll definitely look into it! Is there anything in particular you'd be interested in me talking about in the video?
@@heygarethevans Wow, that was a prompt response. Structuring essays I believe is my biggest problem.
Okay thank you for letting me know 😄
Thanks
