It’s a great ship, can be a battleship, a freighter or a multi purpose workhorse. I imagine there’s a huge variation in capabilities depending on the preferences of the captain.

I believe that the most common variant of the D'Kora is fitted out as well armed transport, about a medium cruiser in firepower like a DS9 era Excelsior, but better shields and faster as the Ferengi would rather avoid a fight if possible. But, for high risk trade, or for commerce in war-zones, as you say, the Marauder can be fitted out to the battleship level capable of approaching a Galaxy Class in firepower, though I think those are rare. Most heavier versions of the D'Kora for moderate risk trade are probably around the Nebula in capability.
