"My heart is in my hand! ECHHH! It's here that I must be. My heart entreats! Just hear those Spanish beats So go put on your cleats and trample over me!" Breaks me up every time!
I got confused by the "But you're an Italian American and the Family taight you more than one way to use a G-String." and then she holds it like a garrote and suddenly I understand everything.
Tom Lehrer had a way with words and reality in love songs. I like your violin playing, not so convinced with your piano... but still I like your acting and reactions to the songs. Enjoying your shorts... err.. videos.
I absolutely love these videos, especially the Tom Lehrer ones bc ive been absolutely obsessed with his music for years and today i learne that he's STILL alive and i feel the need to meet him but ik i cant 😭
Ok so NOW I know why you showed up on my feed. My hubby made me listen to this song because it reminds him of the power couple Gomez and Morticia Addams.
imagine my surprise, at age ~15, trying to find more music from the guy who made the elements song I just memorized for extra credit in science class, and discovering this absolute masterpiece.
@@InfinityMind1 Off the top of my head, "Pollution." We have cleaned up our air and water pretty well since then. Not saying it's perfect; but a lot better than when the song was written.
My mum introduced me and my brother to Lehrer's music when we were teens. She loved putting his album on when she was driving us (and often our friends) somewhere. Our car singalongs were weird 😅
i sang this at top volume(bc i memorized it for some reason) and my mom came in my room but i didnt know bc she wwas ment to be visiting the neighbors and so im standing there with headphones screaming this as shes just standing there watching me
Funny to think that Mr. Lehrer performed & wrote most of his stuff back in the mid-1950's into the 1960's & 70's. Brilliant Singer , Song Writer and also Mathematician. :-D
🎵 Doc-tor De-ment-oo,Doc-tor De- ment-oo🎶🙃 Bet a lot of folks don't realize that a few of those old radio show songs were actually scary, not funny. Barnes & Barnes "Fish Heads" is a beloved avant-garde classic, but their other song , "Somethings In The Bag" was disturbing for that era. So was Bloodrock's "D.O.A." We were also fortunate to get Tulsa's local wildly experimental comedy skit and sci fi / horror commentary tv show hosted by Gaillard Sartain and Bill Miliway with guest stars like skinny long haired young Gary Busey. "Mazzeppa Popazoidy's Uncanny Film Festival And Camp Meeting" was snarky sarcastic fun long before SNL or MST 3000 were ever created. They showed movies later and scarier than anyone else .
Tom is still alive too. He was/is a genius.
HE DIDN'T DIE?????
@@zackbuildit88 Nope last I checked. He's still alive.
@@shmulyzuriel8717 dang
He's 95 years old
I know you posted this a month ago, was this a plant for April Fools? I remember the day Tom Lerhner died.
A reminder that Tom also worked for the NSA and worked at MIT, Harvard, Wellesley and the University of California teaching mathematics.
Not only that, his work for the NSA is still classified to this day
Adds another layer to his song about New Math.
Not to mention that he invented the Jello Shot to get around a ban on alcohol where he was stationed. And started at Harvard at 15
sounds like a masochist

(answering a deleted comment) garrote is a piece of wire you use to choke someone out
Same 😹
The problem is he might enjoy that a bit too much
@@orastellathefirst are we sure that's a "problem" in this scenario? 😅

I believe that's called a "happy ending"...
... at least in _this_ particular case.
:)
This is my mom's favorite Tom Leher song for me to sing...that probably says something about my parents that I'm not going to think to deeply into.
Maybe they just have a... Good sense of humor. One to Die for 😏
Was your mother Mortisha? 🤣
@hannahleigh6152 no, but I have often told my parents they're like a soccer parents version of Gomez & Mortisha?
This is one of my dad's favorite songs, possibly his favorite. Then there's how he reacted to Mom taking up martial arts...
Don’t think into it❤
That took a drastically terrible turn from some whip play to outright murder and bodily destruction
Love Tom Lehrer! Always a pleasure to see his music still getting the love it deserves.
I genuinely love this song so much. It has Bo Burnham energy but like a different flavor of it. It's so good
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 This is genious. I wondered how many of the musicians either were struggling to not laugh or blanch ❤
As soon as this one started I got excited. I love this one
AS WE DANCE TO THE MASOCHISM TANGO

Unironically enjoy this song

My husband started singing along!
I love this song so much its everything i live for lol (it resonates with me far too well) i definitely dont know all the words lmao love all of this
It took me an embarrassingly long amount of time to realize the cuts in the song. It just sounded *wrong* and I couldn't tell what lmao
This song is on my playlist, i know all the words. Its funny as hell
Tom is such a legend
My friend introduced me and my mother to this song in the car..... needless to say my mom loved it she requests it frequently 😅

Ember. Not amber.
There. Engaged. Happy now?
I honest to God love Tom Lehrer.
So the song worked?
Ech, that song reminds so much about my ex. She used to hurt me so badly but I can't help but to miss her.
You've met the wife then hahahahaha 🇬🇧🇬🇧
Is it just me or does the beginning of this kind of sound like Eighth Wonder by Lemon Demon?
It does! I noticed when I first heard the beginning so I scrolled down in the comments to see if anybody else also thought so too
if y'all like.this song.check.out of."freaking at the breakers ball" by Dr. Hook and the medicine show from the 70s
Just a typical Tuesday for Gomez and Morticia Addams.
literally😂
Unofficial Gomez Addams personal theme music
Gomez would absolutely offer to give morticia his still beating heart 😂
Ok so NOW I know why you showed up on my feed. My hubby made me listen to this song because it reminds him of the power couple Gomez and Morticia Addams.

It's how I found it as well! Did you get that extra credit? 😂
Have you heard about what he does to pigeons?? 😂
First song I heard by him was New Math, had me absolutely cackling
Until today finding this channel I only knew this song and thought it was a modern song replicating how older songs sounded
I was introduced with National Brotherhood Week
Discovered Tom Lehrer back in the 70s on the Doctor Demento Show. His songs are just as great now...even if some of them are a bit dated.
not as dated as they used to be anymore 🥲
I know someone who did a comedy bit and called themselves doctor ravemento
I think this one is pretty timeless.
Which ones do you consider dated?
@@InfinityMind1 Off the top of my head, "Pollution." We have cleaned up our air and water pretty well since then. Not saying it's perfect; but a lot better than when the song was written.
His love songs always bring a tear to my eye, how deeply… concerning
Found this man through Poisoning The Pidgeons in the Park. Hilarious yet dark song, lol
This sounds like Morticia And Gomez Addams love song to Me...😅😅 Quite catchy.....🎉
Didnt expect that ending, props to you
Honestly the best love song I’ve ever heard. Kinksters are the most fun people
“Fracture my spine and swear that you’re mine.”
Why are so many lyrics from this song so damn romantic
Fr
I've seen a bunch of comments about this song, it's not as bad as I was imagining 😅
I can almost see Gomez and Morticia dancing to this.
Almost? This is like the closest thing you can get to a lyrical theme song for them, lmao
“You caught my nose, in your left castanet love, I can feel the pain yet love, every time I hear drums.”
“And I envy the rose that you held in your teeth, Love. With the thorns underneath, Love, sticking into your gums.”
Somehow I heard this song before I found your channel.
Wednesday and Enid dancing to this
I’m gonna go write that one sec-
This song was actually my introduction to Tom Lehrer :3

The other songs aren't anything like this so tbh I feel like he's projecting here
