Thanks Tommy. It feels good to be posting videos again. I just ordered a mount for my phone so hopefully the videos will improve. Thanks for hanging in there all these years.
Hey John I hope all is well with you I really miss your videos and am hoping that some day you will post again. It's tough to find the time I know but your work is awesome and I consider you a pioneer in the whole motorcycle vlogging movement. Just thought I'd drop a quick hello .
Oh man, I was just thinking about your channel about a week ago. Your channel is what got me into watching motovlogs . I first found your videos because I owned an 03 scout and got seriously inspired by your trips. I ended up selling it when I inherited my dad's 02 indian and now I see you've got yourself an Indian. Welcome to the tribe and welcome back to UA-cam. Really looking forward to the new content.
How did I miss this video when you posted it??? DAMN!!! Awesome video! I have been up close to those bikes. One of my main issues is the handlebars! They are so narrow, like the Harley Sportsters! Makes the bike look so narrow. The Honda bars give you a much better stance while riding. Anyway, Thanks for sharing! PEACE! (Tom)
Hey Tom! Thanks for the comment. The bars are a little narrow, and the stock grips are not very comfortable. I’d like to get some mid rise apes next year but we’ll have to see how much they are. I’m also planning on getting pipes and maybe suspension. I do think that the shadow is a more comfortable bike overall.
You could use your work computer with usb bootable linux and external hard drive, for editing. No changes will be done to company provided hard drive, and you can still use all of the computing power. There are nice editing programs available for linux and it costs nothing.
That’s a good idea, but the computer doesn’t allow usb drives, so I’m not sure that will work but I’ll look into it. Also, I’m not a Linux guy, how user friendly is the software?
@@YoungAmericanOutback the newer mainstream linux distros are quite easy to use for simpler stuff. Also there is a lot of help available on the internet. I am quite new to linux, but have been editing on kdenlive for couple of years now and am quite happy with it.
That's strange. Indian said they fixed that problem with air in the brake lines. There was a recall for '16-'17 models: air in the lines due to a deficiency during the manufacturing process. And it's still happening in 2020?
I had an 883 Iron, I had the same thoughts that you have, looked nice, got lots of compliments about it, but the suspension sucked, it felt like I was riding a hard tail. There were a couple times where I flew out of my seat when I hit a bump.
That’s crazy, I didn’t know that the HD Iron had the same problem. I’ve heard about these progressive shocks that are supposed to make a huge difference. They’re a little pricey but hopefully they’re worth it.
John Tippetts I think the problem was that it was the 883 low, which means that the shocks were short. I think if I had the regular or standard shocks on the sportster, it probably wouldn’t of been so bad. If you’re having issues with the suspension, I think it would definitely be worth upgrading to some better ones if you plan on keeping the bike for sometime.
So I spent some time researching motorcycle shocks, how to adjust them and the mechanics of it. WHAT A GREAT TIP!! THANK YOU!! I just adjusted the rear shocks and went for a ride and it’s a whole new experience. Thanks for the tip man! Did you get your bike back yet? Hope you’re back on two wheels soon.
That's awesome John, typically and new bikes suspension will be set for 2 up. I imagine you softened it up. I set mine much softer because I solo ride 99 percent of the time and it made a huge difference. Bike is still in the shop, should hear something this week. Miss it like crazy man.
I thought that I was going to need to soften them up, but as it turns out that wasn’t the case. So the bike is originally a 1 seater, starter/entry level bike, and I’m carrying a few extra lbs. Being a bobber the rear shock doesn’t have much travel to begin with so when I sat on the bike it was almost maxed out and the shocks were on almost the softest setting. I firmes up the pre-load and took my air pressure down to 30 psi and it has made a huge difference.
Oh yah true it's set up as a solo bobber, makes complete sense. No wonder you were jamming the vertebrae. That's awesome you got it set up right now. Cheers 👍
Hey John, I’ve always enjoyed your videos. I just recently bought my first bike (shadow vlx 600). I live in Langley Arkansas, it’s roughly 4 hours from you. Would be awesome to meet up with you sometime and go for a ride.
The front brake does make a sound when I squeeze it. Also I had my front brake go out. I took my bike into the shop to have it looked at and they said that the front brake reservoir has a tendency to have air bubbles in the brake line which is what caused the issue for me.
It’s like having an old friend back in town. Still watch your old videos, happy for the new ones

Thanks Sam. Are you still riding that Indian? What model is it? I’d love to hear your thoughts on the bike.
Hi John, thought I’d drop by, I hope everything is going good with you and your family. ✌️🇺🇸

Nice update vid John. Have you tried adjusting the rear suspension at all to soften the ridd a bit?
Hey Bernbo, I haven’t tried adjusting the shocks... that’s a good idea. I’ll give that a go this weekend.

i ordered pipes and a seat first. definitely need suspension though.
I heard if you adjust it makes it better and might not have to replace them if you like them after that. Maybe try that before you drop money on it
