    Fun fact, I live in Brazil and thank God I’ve never seen a Brazilian Wandering Spider, man, that’s a creepy thing!
    That brush pile fishing is absolutely amazing! There’s always some fish in those places!
    Thanks for sharing, Spencer 🤝

      When I was in Guyana I was always keeping a look out for bird eating turantulas. Fortunately, I never ran into one. I love fishing those brushpiles. You never know what will swim out of them! Thanks man!

    Spencer…. Just started the video … I know it’s going to be great! Anyways, my 2023 season is over…. It looks warm there? It’s been in the 40s in the morning plus the River wind …. I’m good. I still watch my video of that, now official, 34 1/4 inches long channel I caught. I’m extremely happy with that catch. I owe it to you because I had many many trial and errors. That’s when I searched for catfishing videos and found you. First thing I learned and did was change my line to a heavier lbs. That enabled me to use heavier sinkers and cast much further in the lakes. In the rivers, I learned that I do not need to be way out in the current. Just far enough to slowly drag my shrimp down River.
    Thanks for the videos…. Much appreciated !
    Dan
    FYI … I hope I made sense .. I’m now 50 and it’s hard to type especially after I took my loopy meds 🤤🤤

      @RetPoliceInstructor 11 місяців тому

      Spencer, this is my iPhone account.
      I just wanted to add that I caught that channel after casting near a tree pile. I only did that was because you said on many videos that those are good spots.
      I was hesitant only because I didn’t want to get snagged. But I did get snagged with my channel cat river monster!
      Ty you again
      Dan
      Sorry for typing a lot!!
      Just excited that I caught a channel cat that was close to the Connecticut State record. Which was verified by the state DEEP fisheries. Even the fisheries was impressed, and did a quick survey about date, time, location and bait. They were also happy to see I caught it in the Housatonic River, which is not a common area for channel cats. So they were happy to see a potential population of channel cats in this river.

Never got sick either which I don’t have an iron gut either.

I don’t have a boat or kayak so most of my flathead spots where nonexistent tho I did do pretty good at the fork right there at the Cubbies stadium. "It don't rain in Iowa anymore" I felt that one. It's amazing how in a matter of a year we went from some of the best fishing conditions ever to the worst. We are feeling it all over the midwest, except for maybe Oklahoma....they got it all this year.

    Another great video Spencer. When you come on with another video its very relaxing to me. Almost wish your videos were an hour long. Ya caught some fine fish and you fishing out of your Kayak is pretty neat also. Take care Spencer and stay safe. God bless you and yours.

    Do you use flouro for all your leaders?

    • @RiverCertified
      @RiverCertified  11 місяців тому +1

      Almost. I don't use floro for flatheads only because the heavy line is so stiff live baits don't struggle as much.

    Belted Kingfisher is also my favorite bird. I'd say he's the river certified mascot, they sit on brush and drop in for the fish. Much like yourself my friend. 📣🍻🍻

      Near retirement here in the UK but hoping to start some River Fishing. Sadly my kayak is closed. That means I sit in a cockpit. Probably on manage one small rod and will need to set up some way of securing everything just behind me! Wish me luck! 🤔
