Yes, that's right. PDF output is not limited in LT compared to full Revit. You can try the 30 day trial version of Revit LT, so you could see yourself, whether it suits you.

Very usefull comparison! I used the free student version to get to know Revit a little by doing some personal designs for my house. I made my renders with Twinmotion, awesome program if you dont know it! Now my student licence expired but still want to make renders. Just not sure if i want to use Revit LT or switch to sketchup as its alot cheaper. Which one do you reccomend?
Hi, yes, Twinmotion is very useful software, they just released new version. Regarding Revit vs. SketchUp - it's hard to recommend without knowing your situation and requiremets. SketchUp is more of a 3D modelling and rendering software, but with Layout you can create also construction documentation. I don't use it, so I am not sure how good the workflow for creating CD is. Revit is a full BIM software, modelling and rendering is not as easy as with Sketchup, but it has advantages of better CD documentation and having information inside the model - so it's better for creating schedules, takoffs etc. For only doing renders and simple plans views, SktechUp is better fit in my opinion. It's much more flexible for creating models and has better asset library for creating renders. Tom
If you miss enscape, give twinmotion a try; I have experience with both and have found twinmotion more satisfying. My biggest problem with LT is the inability to create hatch patterns
I tried both, in my opinion Enscape gives quicker results with good quality. Twinmotion has some other advantages and Epic seems to put lot of work into this product. With regards to patterns, sure there is no PyRevit for LT users, but you can create your own hatch patterns manually (you can check my tutorial on that) or you can use Pattycake hatch editor and import created hatch pattern into Revit LT. I don't see this as much of a big deal. Tom
@@Constantinesis I found a workaround by way of importing a Revit Lt model into sketchup and then linking twinmotion with datasmith... It's an extra step but kinda worth it than spending $2500 for full Revit
@@fragout9575 Yes you are right, its a good workaround compared to buying the full Revit but I think that Revit LT should have a connection for Twinmotion especially since now Autodesk and Epic partnered to include it in the program. I did not expect it to not be in Revit LT too. Maybe in future releases...
can a revit project be opened in full revit version, what about compatibility in versions, like revit 2022, revit 2023 etc, how this whole thing works?
Yes, LT projects can be opened in full Revit and vice versa. The compatibility of 2023, 2024, etc. versions works the same as full Revit - you can upgrade your project, but you can not downgrade to lower version.
Hi Constantine. Unfortunately it seems that the Notre Dame 3D model link in not working anymore. I am not able to find an updated link. This is unfortunate, because the model is rally nice and showcases what you can model in Revit.
@@BIMforInteriorDesign Yes that is sad. Maybe as we get closer to the restoration completion they should mark the celebration by re opening the access to the Revit 3D model. You could raise this question on Autodesk forums, would be a nice ideea i think !
Terrible. Why? You cannot use plug ins. Which is the pettiest thing a company can do. Imagine limiting your costumers to premium in order to run their own scripts and their purchases in your store. Shame on you Autodesk.
If you are working alone as a freelance architect you can't afford the full Revit software its too expensive in our region. LT is the only option but its way too much butchered.

Am also a LT user. I mainly focus on as-builts and Renovations projects so LT is perfect. Although, having the full version would be nice.
There's no doubt of full Revit being sometimes more useful. But you can live with Revit LT.

Yes for regions with limited purchasing power the cost of full Revit is quite prohibitive.
Strongly disagree, sketch up is better, ANY OTHER PAY TO OWN SOFTWARE is better.
