0:20 Ellefson and Menza sound so tight here! So fucking awesome! Damn, Megadeth Always had the best musicians in the big four. Metal isn't just about Guitars.
slantyrock Almost too tight. It’s nice, but it was before their shows were “fun”. They had a little more swag when I saw them in 2006. They were still tight enough, but weren’t quite such angry young punks. I don’t like the vibe they have going on here. It’s like “we’re so tight we’re just gonna show off how fast and perfect we can play all these hard songs” without even taking any time to groove or anything. But I would take this over their current live sound in 2019 in a heartbeat. The quality of Megadeths live show has steeply declines in the past 5-6 years it’s absolutely tragic to have seen happen. I’d give anything to have 2002-2013 Megadeth back. That was their sweet spot for me.
Conspiracy TV not even. Everything here blows that era of death out of the water. I think everyone was too busy moshing to even take the time to listen to a few words from Dave.
@@marlonbrando5794 It's definitely their tightest... but their setlists at this time weren't as diverse because this was before so many of their great post RIP albums came out. They were still speed metal here and I just happen to appreciate all eras of Megadeth. Rust in Peace is definitely not my favorite album so maybe I'm not as big of a fan of Megadeth when they were nutty fast technical wizards on their instruments. As I said, some of their later albums was heavy metal with a little bit more swagger. Think Skin O My Teeth as an example. All the albums after Rust in Peace are full of extremely well written tunes and Megadeth matured as a heavy metal act. Their live shows became bigger, had larger setlists, and were just more satisfying. I'm not someone who just cares about technical playing like up to a certain point yes it's cool but I prefer the vibe of music too and Dave Mustaine to me just gave me a better vibe once he matured as a man. In these younger videos are all I see is Dave "I'm so much better than Metallica " Whiny Mustaine. Rust in Peace is a fast album but overall it's not even that heavy. If anything it sounds very nerdy.
dave is freaking beast, i have no idea how he can sing all of 2:03 - 2:19 without stopping for breath. oh and by the way, the best line up was with Chris and Gar, in my opinion xD
Was actually at this show.... With my mom. She was a fledgling metal producer and government mathematician at the time. I was fresh outta highschool. Almost as awesome as the show was the scene outside the theater afterwards. Concrete Productions Foundations Forum rock convention was going on in LA that week and a ton of big named metal bands drove up for the show. It was like a who's who of heavy metal all milling around and hanging out. Those were the days.
Marty explained once in interview the important of warm up after he fcked up his arm once while in Megadeth for not warming up properly. You can still google that interview.
+John Harkins Gar was unbelievable, but Nick is better. Gar has some of that "hard to find footage of, only the old guys speak of his legend" corollary. Again, he was amazing but Nick Menza is the best Megadeth drummer
Lol its so funny when peopel whine about how things suck now because they are not the way they used to be. The guy is 53 years old. I saw him live many times in then 80s and 90s. You kids and noobs are just pissed off because your generation cant produce good music to save your life. Yea.. metal was the SHIT 30 years ago. You were born too late,, get over it. Dave mustaine will NEVER sound like he used to. For those of us who experienced it, we laugh at you guys who whine about not being able to. Be thankful you have you tube and can fantasize about the past
Your generation bitched about not seing Sabbath with Ozzy, Maiden with Paul, KISS at their prime and Hellhammer too, so don't act like it's ridiculous. Plus, there are a shitload of good band nowadays, they're just in the underground. Give a listen to Vektor, Revocation, Mastodon, Chapel of Disease, Toxic Holocaust, Deathspell Omega (I could go on for ages), they all sound great and somewhat bring something new to the table. Still diging the shit out of the classic bands, though.
My favorite lineup from Megadeth. Although, very bittersweet seeing this now, in 2024...Nick M. is gone (RIP), Marty F. looks really bad now, very sickly, but still rocking, and David E. is no longer in the band (for a stupid reason/s, if you ask me). I still love the band, but this lineup was my favorite, and they made some of my favorite Megadeth albums together. Also, Liar was always one of my favorite tracks off SF,SG...SW!
@mingebag851 probably adrenaline, when i play in front of even like 3 people i play faster cuz it gives me a rush haha, i think he was clean here but he could be high
Dave's a pretty good rapper
lmao so true...
The best rapper*

Junior is a great bassist and Menza was a machine in the drums truly one of the best megadeth line ups
@@thecommunistloli1042 The best in my mind. Menza is a fucking beast

so damn loud

😂😂
They were so tight on the Rust tour.
Those jeans were equally tight.

BEST LINE UP EVER!
chito Even the Gar and Chris era! That line up composed the craziest songs of Megadeth.
Debió ser épico ver a megadeth por estos años.
Bro the double bass Nick uses on the last breakdown before the guitars pick up again is insane 2:34
Nick Menza is a BEAST.
woah, Mustaine's pretty ripped here. Must've helped for that downpicking xD
Favourite along with hooks in the mouth, so far so good so what favourite album till death!
Dave's in no ripped in this show. He was clean during RIP tour and relapsed during the Countdown tour.
Andrew Porter Ripped means buff, my friend. As in he was working out a lot
2:47 WHAT
damn dave arms look ripped
You can tell marty's really struggling to keep up, jesus that's a fast song
Marty explained once in interview the important of warm up after he fcked up his arm once while in Megadeth for not warming up properly. You can still google that interview.
It was his first year in the band too
They play it faster than the studio version, the riffs alone are as complex as the solos.
Yea, Marty usually didnt stand on one spot and very animated on stage but he looked like he's focusing on the downstroke than anything else. 😆
It's actually not that fast ....They were just playing it at lightning speed
He was actually sober during the RIP period.
Imagine Chris Poland attended this live shows and heard this song that Dave dedicated to him 😄
FANTASTIC FOUR !!!!
Best live of this song ever
Not one of my favourite Megadeth songs but the energy from it is undeniable.
Kick ass song
awesome shot!
sin dudas el mejor tema del trash metal, y como esta ejecutado, lo hace más inigualable
This is two of the best songs on the album.
This one song is better than the entirety of the rap genre.
Best line up !
So awesome....
Ahahahaha...... fkn OMG! I forgot how much that song shredded, back in the day! 🤘
Nick Menza is best
Gar was way better. Nick was good.
+John Harkins Gar was unbelievable, but Nick is better. Gar has some of that "hard to find footage of, only the old guys speak of his legend" corollary. Again, he was amazing but Nick Menza is the best Megadeth drummer
Max Durk wrong. Dirk is better in almost every way. Nick definitely had some groove and worth some great drum parts tho.
@@maxdurk4624
Nick would be the first one to say that Gar played circles around anyone.
Brandon Gonzales Dude Dirk doesnt even play a lot of the parts right gtfo
2:00 - 2:22 is insane!
2:00 - 2:22
The good old days, when Dave was high and smart instead of being sober and stupid. Damn that fucking hand injury, he could play so tigh and precise...
i know fuck rip daves old hand
***** No he isn't XD This show was his birthday show that year. The afterparty shows that Dave was drinking :p
I would place a bet that alcohol isn't the only thing he used :p this is like 1.25 times the speed of the studio version...it's pretty clear I think

@2bmc i think he means the last verse
He was 100% clean from 1990 to 1993.
Dave was only sober for short period , 89-91. He was high again around 92 and overdosed valium in 93.
Vic Rattlehead you know your shit. Must’ve read Dave’s book too🤘🏾
@xXxBuLLeTxXx1 Nah he wouldn't be high around his wedding =] He was clean during most of the Rust In Peace tour
