Beautiful singing! It sounds like you're putting a chuck in the strumming. It's the second downstrum for sure, but is it also the third one? I sometimes get a string that rings out when I chuck fast. It's so annoying because I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I can't even tell which string it is.
His strumming pattern is D-XU-UXU, where the Xs are chucks :) I used to have the ringing string problem when I first started chucking. The only way around it for me was to keep practising slowly before speeding up. Hope this helps. Good luck!
@sashface - Thank you for the clarification on the strumming. And I'll go slower on the chucking. I do chuck pretty well at slow speed; that's why I thought I was ready to go faster. But I guess "pretty well" is not good enough to go faster yet!
This was first song I've practiced on bass 14 years ago, haven't played it over 10, and now somehow got ukulele on my hands, this is first one again, thank you for it! 🤗
