The placement of your camera was perfect and your boat is wonderful to watch sailing. my favorite video I have seen this year. I could watch more like this. Going through the shallows and seeing the shoreline pass by was a treat.
❤❤❤❤ your sharpie. Just perfect.!! Length, cockpit space, a bit of deck. Nice bow sprit (not really a proper one; but nice and hefty!). Simple all white and clean lines. 🎉
We've been happy with the boat for over 10 years now. We love the simplicity. It goes well for being so primitive. More on building at mackhorton dot com
Great looking boat, nice job building her. Would love to see a video of you reefing her. I just bought "The Sharpie Book" and plan on building one myself. Thanks for the inspiration.
Thanks James, Tempo's sail was made by an older, experienced, sail maker and uses "slab reefing". There are two Clews and Tacks. The sail is lowered (about 1.5') and the upper Clew and Tack are attached, and the sail raised. The reefing lines sewn into the sail only bundle up the bottom, now unused, part of the sail and carry no stress. It's an operation best done of the beach. Cheers, Mack
Camera is a HD GoPro compact and waterproof mounted on a bent composite pole stressed by 3mm Spectra lines. Search photobucket for "tilroh" album for a pic of the mount. Cheers, Mack
Great video. I love the camera angles, you've given me some good ideas.. Recently lost my flip camera was trying to decide on another flip or go pro. I think you convinced me to go, go pro. Thanks. Tim
I bought a Core Sound 17 and Love it. Sail in under 1ft of water. I can cut across the flats and explore the mangroves and fish and camp the islands of west Florida.
That looks very much like the boats used here in southwest Florida in the early part of the 20th century. How does she handle? Does the flat bottom ride the chop well? Everything I see in this video indicates a fine sailing boat!
Lovely boat...nice pics...thanks
Now that's a proper, solid boat!
it looks like a dream, nice boat, beautifull area und
a very good quality, thanks for sharing!

Nice! Good soundtrack
I Like this boat and your video makes me want to get out there and build one. Thanks

I like the camera setup!
That would be PERFECT for the Outer Banks!

good for you
I don't think this is a Core Sound boat. This is a Reuel Parker sharpie, I believe the 18 footer.
Awesome Mack! That craft is MINT!!!! Huge rudder support, simple rig........bowsprit / camera support???????? Love it man!!!!!!

Nice job--camera AND boat.
Wonderful video. Only thing that would make it better is hearing the water.
I agree but connecting a mike to the camera through it's waterproof housing is a problem and then there's the wind noise.
I agree. Sound would add much to the feel of the sail. We're investigating.
Nice video and music too. What type of camera and method of attachment?
I think you're now my hero but I can't decide if it's 'cause of your boat building skills of video skills! LOL
Beautiful.... Did you build her?
I swear to god you guys changed the music. You used to have Swing as the theme...LOL
Which sharpie design/plans is Tempo made from?
Rolfe Dlugy-Hegwer
From pages108-110 of "The Sharpie Book" by Reuel Parker.
The book has lots of construction info and boat building philosophy.
I come here because "tempo" that in portuguese it's time.do you speak português?
Hi Neldivan, we don't speak Portuguese but think the boat's name is suitable in Portuguese. Thanks!
@@tilroh give me some books name free, talking about building mast. thanks for your help

@ 1:16 there is a big spider !
It looks like you are being towed part of the time.
Thanks, long narrow Sharpie hulls are easily driven.
We'd always planned on mounting a small outboard motor on Tempo but have never bothered.
For the record, we are not towed in any videos. I don't think Tempo has ever been powered by anything besides wind or oars.
OMG > This is sex on the water... I'm going to copy your boat.. love it...
You don't have to. You can the plans from Reuel Parker. Check out his book "the Sharpie Book."
hahaha! That was Fantastic! Gregg Fyffe check this out!!! :)
OK. I'm really sick of watching these video's .... where the hell do I get one??????
