    Lyrics:
    [Verse 1]
    Moving on and getting over
Are not the same, it seems to me
'Cause you've been gone, I'm growing older
But I still can't seem to get you off my mind
And I do believe I feel you all the time
    [Verse 2]
    Moving on and getting over
Are not the friends they used to be
It's been so long since I got to hold you
But I still can't seem to get you off my mind
And I do believe I feel you all the time, all the time
    [Bridge]
Tell me I can have the fact you've loved me to hold onto
Tell me I can keep the door cracked open, to let light through
For all my running, I can understand
I'm one text away from being back again
But I'm moving on and I'm getting over
I'm getting over, I'm getting over
    I got to get over
    [Verse 3]
    Moving on and getting over
It's been so long; it just goes to show you
That I still can't seem to get you off my mind (get you off my mind)
And I sure would like to see you one more time
    [Outro]
It's taken me so long just to say "so long"
And baby it's so wrong, but I'm moving on
I'm gonna get a new girl
    A something-I-can-do-girl
To try to get me through, girl
    'Cause I'm moving on
    I'm moving on
    And I'm moving on
    I'm moving on
    And I'm moving on
Consider me as good as gone
    'Cause I'm moving on
    I'm moving on
    Moving on, baby
    Moving on
    Moving on

John just needs to keep making and releasing more music. We need a constant flow of his unclassifiable style. He'll go from bluesy, to country like, to a more modern funk/pop. This man simply produces masterpieces and is frankly not only the prodigy, but the legend of our current time.

John will always be my all time favorite musician. This guy has spent countless hours of even just practicing different phrasing on the guitar. People want to say he is so talented and gifted, to explain why he is so good, which in all fairness is extremely accurate; but they honestly don't realize how much time and dedication was spent every single day since he was 15 at the guitar. His mom made him quit at 9pm or he wouldn't stop 😂. So yeah, he has some raw talent, but he mainly WORKED HIS ASS OFF to be where he is now!

    • @h3llraise
      @h3llraise 5 років тому +27

People think "talent" is the dominant factor in being successful. They don't know the behind the scenes, they just see the product.

    • @mayumi1603
      @mayumi1603 3 роки тому +6

@@h3llraise Exactly. You'll never (and I mean NEVER) see someone excel in his field without hard work. They see LeBrons, Mayers, and only see the talent. But those people worked EXTREMELY hard for a very long time to get there. And to stay there, they keep practicing! A lot!

I've been a fan of John Mayer since i watched his live performance of Bold As Love 2 years ago. I was completely mesmerized by his talent, his passion, everything. Then i continued to watch more of his bluesy stuff, such as his live performances of ain't no sunshine, his crossroads performances with some of the greatest musicians in music history and i was completely mind blown. This guy is truly gifted, and it always made me so mad that his newer stuff was so commercial and plastic considering the amazing talent he has for blues music. And then... i listened to this, and my god, it made me so happy to finally get some soulful, passionate music from him. I guess what I'm trying to say is thank you John Mayer, for being my inspiration as a musician for this last couple of years, thank you, for getting me out of a dark place, and thank you, for giving us this unbelievably beautiful music.

Anyone seen the video of John 'karoake-ing' to this track at a gig? He's SO PROUD of this song and rightfully so! This is so SLICK! It's so groovy, so SMOOTH, like audio honey, man! THIS is why John Mayer is still the artist to go to! Wickedly talented! Can't stop listening to it!

John is back! I thought he had given up on harmonic complexity and subtle yet extremely sophisticated arrangements! Enough with the Blues and Folk stuff, give us your full genius as a songwriter John! Can't wait to hear the second part of the album...

5 Years ago I discovered this wonderful man. Changed my life got me through the good times, the bad, everything never felt so in touch with an artist than with John Mayer. Got to see him in Atlanta this year in August and when he started playing I just bursted out crying, never would have imagined going to a concert and doing that but that's the power of music. He inspired me to start my own youtube and I just made my first cover and nothing better than starting with one of his songs, and mark my words one day I'm gonna play with him I don't care how long it takes!!!!!!!!
