To anyone reading this, I cannot recommend Ravel more. I stress greatly about the fact that so many people know nothing of a man who seemed to have an understanding of music like no one else.
@@existentialcrisis8321 Have fun and enjoy all of it. Very envious of anyone just discovering Ravel and the wonders of his music. In the two years since writing the original comment I’ve listened to virtually everything he ever published and I’d still wholeheartedly recommend all of it to anyone.
February 2019. I was fired from an awful job (mentally abusive coworkers and boss). The next day I went to my city's aquarium to empty my mind while listening this track and looking at fishes and sharks swimming in their ethereal and timeless world...
KSAMF That must have been an amazing experience!!! You were set free not by choice but because it was time to go, then come into that scene with this music playing. Wow! So moving. I hope you are doing much better now wherever you are in life.
The sailor welcomed the coldness he suddenly felt, wrapping around him like a blanket. It felt warm even, in a sense. He was at peace, and the grin on his face grew even bigger. Then, he finally opened his eyes. What lied upon his feet was something he'd longed to see his whole life. His eyes glistened as he took a few steps, realizing just how nice it felt to be walking around like that. The plants around him swayed around every now and then, capturing tiny creatures within themselves, only to never let them go again. Others became hiding spots, with their crimson, golden or mauve colors enticing small life forms to come inside. he strolled around, finding something new and alluring at each step he took, each corner he turned. They passed him pay at every side, sometimes stopping to wonder about his form among themselves, and how he came to be down there, with them all. But soon enough, they would wonder ahead, and leave him be. That is when he came across a wrecked ship, seemingly new as it had no lifeforms growing on it. He wondered about it, inside and outside, even on the broken deck. It had been a great vessel, and now it was lying across the sea floor, torn to pieces. As he sat there on the figurehead, staring at a school of small silver fish swimming by, his eyes glistened in the few rays of sun that could still reach him. Perhaps life is not always as bad as it seems.
an ocean.. and open, beautiful, vast ocean. Full of life and full of death, it balances each other as if the sun and moon. This is what I was greeted with when the piece begun. Imagine, just running, jumping, skipping on the water, and you can look beneath you and see all the creatures of all sorts. You feel clean and feel weightless, the water rubbing against your legs and get a fresh smell of the sea water. Very fulfilling To feel. I wish people saw music how I see it. It’s a language that can speak to all of us. Just people have to learn how to unlock it.
Lich Emperor I take the name of the piece quite literally and imagine a boat alone in the expansive ocean; at its absolute mercy in fact. This piece seems to invite you to soak in the water itself and simply let it carry you. You are utterly weightless for the first time in your life - it is a sensation that we all long for in life and Ravel allows us to feel it. For me, Ravel is much more than a composer. As wacky as it probably sounds, I fully believe Maurice Ravel is one of the few people who existed to show the rest of us that there is something greater out there, or at least something we don’t know of. It harkens us but we can never truly follow the direction of it’s calls. But it’s there. I know it is.

I can’t find words to express how this song makes me feel like. It’s such a beautiful feeling and yet it manages to tear you apart. The movie will always have a special place in my heart
Whoever you are, whatever you’re struggling through right now, as much as it hurts, as much as it aches to the point of hopelessness and despair, i hope you heal. Sometimes the world and our own mind can be overwhelming. Sometimes more than we think it should. But keep it up. There’s always more to life, let life amaze you, and pleas, don’t give up
Cool! Thank you so much for making these remixes. They really help me study, fall asleep, write, and really just get in the more focused, relaxed, and creative part of my brain. As a fellow writer who's also hoping to become a filmmaker of sorts, you have my gratitude and admiration! ^u^
While everyone's describing the music I'm looking at the mermaid 😂😂 nevertheless ur edits are always the best! When I'm extremely tiered I just listened to ur edits and feels like I'm floating in the music thank you 💕
listened to all the mixes over the past couple of days and this one is the best. I am biased because Ravel is a master but even out of his work, this one from Miroirs is just superior.
I'm listening in this moment this song in my job, it gave me a sense of calm, and to relief to thank for my actual job, and how unhappy I was in my former job, the environment was awful and my exboss only raise the people who were friends with her. In here, I'm fine and even with the job stress, it's fine.
In the infinite excesses if space, absolutely anything is possible. I choose to believe a beautiful planet exists- purely of oceans. The water laps at the sky, and crystals grow like glaciers. In the busy surface of these seas, millions of stars wink at you. The water is deep, and expands for many, many miles. I wonder where this place is..
I dream't a place like that a couple of times. The colors of the sea and sand where a massive pink and other warm colors. It was night time and the sky was a massive explosion of violet sky and giant bright stars. You could almost mistake the night for daytime. And the best thing was if you looked up at the stars it didn't hurt your eyes. I wish I could go back to that place. I even searched if it exists.and yeah there's a beach in maui hawaii where the sunset turns pink and violet! The colors are so bright it reflects on the ocean and it looks pink like in my dream. although there aren't any stars :') but i'm still happy a place like this exists in waking life.
Serene, transcending, awe inspiring the painting fits perfectly with the music! If you have time can you possibly do tchaikovskys symphony 6 movement 4 please?
I've got a suggestion : can you incorporate nature sounds with all these remixes? Like for this one , combined with some waves or water sounds hits on a whole new level I think
This is what the ocean feels like
Beefcakes Mchunkerson you see ocean, I see space and nebulas
monzie both! Space ocean!
Ocean... the frank?
