Has anyone noticed how Ariana's manner completely changes when she's alone with Matt? The poised, arrogant diva persona that she projects when she performs and is interviewed is completely absent. I think Ariana is actually quite a playful and almost child-like person in her private life. I think she decided to become more "adult" so people were more likely to take her seriously when her singing career took off. However, because this isn't really her she feels uncomfortable and therefore comes across as moody, precious and spoilt. Strangely, though, everyone - critics and even her so-called fans - doesn't want her to be herself. They want her to stay just as she is so they can continue to deride her for it. Ariana is a shrewd businesswoman and has accepted and realized that that's what pays the big bucks - unfortunately. Luckily there are people like Matt who will accept her when she's just being usual sweet self (this is particularly relevant in the last clip at Thank U Next).

Different people and different situations bring out different sides of you. Ari can be a shrewd business woman that takes no shit and a sweet childlike person all wrapped up in one.
