While the combine are a bit harsh, you can't deny the intelligence behind their actions. With some reform, both parties could be happy and the combine could retain control over the human population.

You ever wonder if, for every minute of Half-Life 1 and 2, Gordon Freeman prays that nobody finds out he was the cause of the Resonant Cascade that ended the world? And that he doesn't talk for fear of letting it slip he was the one who ended human civilization as he knew it?
I return here for like i think the 10th time to watch this at full length again. I eagerly anticipate the sequel to this, and thank you for doing this, its been cracking me up for like 2 weeks now
The narration being a mix of third and first person as if the narrator is both gordan and a separate being at the same time reminds me of fallout new vegas, where you meet your own brain and it starts calling you an idiot.
Crazy to think a creator this new would so easily become my favorite! Keep doing what you're doing, it's comedy gold! I'd love to see you play some other titles with characters doing unnecessarily destructive stuff, like, say, Terraria! :)

most people who die by headcrabs (in scripts) are usually unaware/busy a scientist killed one, cheers, then gets killed by a headcrab so, no, you dont have to be immune by a helmet
Canonically, we don't know. Marc Laidlaw did receive emails from fans questioning about the helmet thing, and he gave some sarcastic responses, with one saying that it was like a Schrodinger's Cat situation, and another saying he probably lost it because it gave him "helmet hair".
I recently watched the video of a playthrough documentary of how Gordon can save as much people as possible (impressive results and very wholesome!) And then there is this XD The duality.
I mean yeah, I always wondered why everybody treats Gordon as a hero. He could've just as easily been portrayed as a villain who plunged the world into disarray - he was technically responsible for the resonance cascade (even though we know he was just doing the manual labor), and while the canonical explanation is probably that Gordon wasn't a sociopath who killed every fellow scientist and security guard he came across in HL1 (I think this theory is supported by the fact there's no friendly fire at all in HL2 and subsequent games, so you're probably not meant to kill allies in the first place, you can just do it for shits and giggles in HL1), the average person would most likely think of Gordon as the reason why the world went to shit. Aliens started invading Earth, then he launched a satellite that inadvertantly caused the Combine to notice Earth because of the portal storms that followed after Gordon kills Nihilanth, and I think I read somewhere before that the Combine used that satellite in order to be able to teleport to Earth and defeat it in the Seven Hour War. I think the whole Messiah-like status of Gordon post-HL1 is quite unrealistic, and while the science team would know that Gordon wasn't responsible for this by any means, good luck explaining that to the average person.
