Jon Epstein Bro I'm glad i'm not the only one who thinks this. Cheers was a damn near flawless album. Some of the best produced songs i've heard in the last decade.
I’m a big fan of Obie’s, honestly all those dudes that were signed Shady are dope . I miss those days when Obie, 50 Cent, D-12, and G-unit we’re putting out music every year. Good times and great music.
No doubt bro I am so proud that I got to be a part of that era, early 2000s hip-hop was nostalgic, the whole 50 Cent G-Unit discovery, obie trice Eminem encore album and the Reup era Man those are some good times in hip-hop2003 through 2007 was the best
The cheers album is one of the most underrated hiphop albums of all time. you got a raw Detroit spitter on eminem and dr dre production with features from g unit, dre himself, em, nate dogg, busta rhymes, d12. how come most hiphop fans forget about this? cuz its 2003? this was the first rap album i ever owned when i was like 7 lol
Michael S. cuz 50 cent was taking all the glory! cheers did sell im not saying it didnt the point im making is, it never gets talked about and to me its an absolute classic and amongst the greats like illmatic, chronics, mmlp1 etc
I think obie trice is a great artist. I bought all his CDs even after Em..... Dudes dope! Very blessed.. I think we need more Obie in hip hop. Keep dropping my dude
simple, Em just has to feature him on a song. Imagine if Em made a real hip hop album with features from Dre, 50, Obie, D12, Royce, Jay Z (Renegade Pt II?), Wu, etc
Cheers is a classic. Everything from Trice, the features and the production is just crazy. Not gonna lie i sort of forgot about Trice but i just found my copy of Cheers and that shit is getting played several times today!
Follow my life, The Set Up, Look in my eyes, Never Forget Ya are just some of a few favorite tracks off of Cheers. Cheers was a real dope album. Don't know what happened after that tho lol.
Rather than hate on the younger fans who might not have heard of him, Im just gunna say please, please check out his album CHEERS. Nothing short of a classic!
I used to be a professional dj in Europe for like 30 years....I'd never heard of a certain Obie trice..untill one day when I bought Eminem's "Without me" I listened to the intro that launches a name "OBIE TRICE...blah blah the lyrics"..so i felt curous and went to discover whom the obie dude was....And I ended up being one of the first djs in Italy to play "The SET UP" in clubs...A song that caused ears to prick and heads to nod to the song!! thumbs up Obie!!
I haven't listen to Obie in a while, but he was one of my favorite rappers in the early-mid 2000s. He had one of the most unique styles, along with Juelz Santana...
Glad to see other people consider "Cheers" as a classic. I'm always hesitant to use that word regarding an album but I feel the same way. The production is top notch on every song and Obie has memorable hooks and brought a lot of character to his rhymes. Truly an underrated rapper and a totally slept on album. Obie is right about Interscope taking too long for his sophomore album. I loved Cheers but by the time "Second Rounds On Me" came, I had lost interest in him as an artist because it felt like he had disappeared.
Yeah hes got to stay on grind. The Lox been around a long long time. Seen them do House of blues couple years ago. Sheek was carrying the big container full of Lox merch they still out here grinding with rest of the older artists. Id gladly go see a live Obie show whether hes opening or main always loved his stuff. Underrated artist always was.
Im 33yrs old...........damn! we had sooooo much good shit to listen too. I forgot about Cheers. I got it some gott damn where!!! But might just buy it again.....or might just dig through my old CD books....the black one that zippened up and you put the CD book in the slot wit the CD.....Damn!.....Am Im old yet and just dont know it?????
This man is one of the most underrated in the rap industry, Iove him sooo much I named my Rottweiler after him and when people used to say Ohh after Obi-Wan Kanobi, I used to get offended because they didn't know and I'm like how can you not know. I swear if I had another baby, I would have named him Obie but I had five already by the time I had first had the chance to witness this man perform live and boy that was fire. We need to support this guy because he is one of the best.
Mad love to the homie Trice. I grew up listening to Em' and 'em (NO pun intended) and those my dudes man, got me through a lot of shit in my youth. I will say though, many people would have sold their soul to get to where Obie got to. it's a matter of not having the right people on your side. Same thing happened to me when i was young. I had a lot of good things come my way, and I speak from a financial perspective. My mom almost died in an accident, my brother died (may God rest his soul) and we came up on some good bread since my mom sued the state and won. We didn't have anyone to guide us, we were poor and did not know how to invest or otherwise manage our money. Mom went broke after like 3 years of living in luxury throwing parties ever other weekend and blowing money like crazy. Mofokas would line my living room couch trying to see who could get some bread off mom dukes. It's too bad man, sometimes people don't know how to take advantage of a great thing, that could possibly only come once in a lifetime and (sometimes) at the cost of others. Peace y'all.
They say way don’t we increase the peace ✌️ the only piece 🔫 increase is that which deletes our peeps!!! Has got to be one of my favourite lyrics of all time!!! Obie’s a beast...
Cheers was the first CD I ever bought in a store, I was like 12 or 13 or something (I'm 22 now). I'm from Detroit and I saw it in the store so I grabbed it. Still have it, amazing CD. That, then later on the first mixtape I ever fell in love with was Drake - So Far Gone shaped a lot of my current music tastes
Obie Trice has some of the most powerful, yet heart felt lyrics of any artist. His approach is to make you feel his words down to your bones. The song that comes to mind when I think about his music is the one with Eminem. Listen to Eminem - Go to Sleep feat Dmx and Obie Trice. As a consumer of music, make sure you go back in time and enjoy the classics. You will see the influence of the styles today and the beauty of the lyricism that propagated those styles.
SayWhat336 Craig Mack was signed to Bad Boy blowing up with his hit "Flava In Ya Ear". Biggie got signed and showed up on the Remix. The fans loved Biggie's verse so Bad Boy focused on Biggie's career, leaving Craig Mack as a side piece on his label.
CRAIG MACK WAS SET TO BLOW THEN BIGGIE CAME THREW LIKE A HURRICANE THEN CRAIG MACK VANISHED OFF THE FACE THE EARTH HE HAD IT ROUGH BEING THE SECOND BEST ARTIST ON BAD BOY RECORDS!
Metacritic gave Obies first album Cheers a seventy two score and it went platinum so Obie was doing well for himself for a while shame his second album did not get the same rating score or higher or even go gold
I worked at the greyhound bus station in Sacramento California about 4 years ago and I seen Obie Trice standing in line waiting to catch a bus because his tour bus broke down lol
Ain't nobody stunt his success claiming 50 Cent cuz all the energy was around 50 Cent Obie Trice has his own energy you got to believe in yourself to be big no matter what anybody else says
low-key!!! detroit is like the atlanta of the midwest. it's so much talent coming out the city right now. in the near future. inspiring rappers are going to move to detroit. to get sign or get discovered. its so many connections. up here
Cheers is actually a classic. You can play it front to back, and it has club/party songs as well as just riding songs
Jon Epstein production was through the roof. That is whats missing in todays hip hop..

Well his last album he left shady records so he would need to go back with Dre and Eminem to make another classic record like cheers

That verse on Drips....
Obie is under-rated...Cheers is a classic.
Eminem produced some of the hardest beats I've heard from him on that album.
Eminem produced most of the whole album of cheers
I had that album I was one of the 2 million people to buy it 2003..
His Album is timeless !
Obie first two albums were fantastic!! He’s so underrated

His E40 impression is on point!

"I don't have to work". Key phrase for any keyboard haters working that bullshit 9-5 u hate.
OBIE IS FROM THE DAYS WHEN D12 ,AFTERMATH ,G UNIT vs MURDER INC...THOSE MURDER INC PUNKS WHERE SILENCED FOREVER..
Dre and Em put their foot in that album hahaha! and Obie rapped his ass off too.
Just from the clips they played, his music sound hard af. I know who he is but i never looked into his own personal music. Might have to do that now.
Cheers and Second Round's On Me are definitely worth it.
Word Cheers album is up there. I played it extra cause it was underrated. Cheers to Obie
Obie always has hard beats.
