    Two horses with striped legs, high-set eyes, long ears and strong necks, frolicking and getting up. One of them is a stallion.
    We are in the heart of Hustai National Park in Mongolia. These equines with primitive features are Przewalski's horses. They are the last truly wild horses in the world. Tens of thousands of years ago, they appeared in prehistoric cave paintings. In the 1970s, the species disappeared from the wild. In the 1990s, Przewalski's horse was reintroduced to three natural parks in Mongolia.
    In these remote locations, horses face harsh winters, predation and hybridization due to the proximity of domestic horses. What if the solution was found in another type of reintroduction? Ten years ago, in France, in the Monts d'Azur reserve, horses were reintroduced with bison and deer. The project is based on the interactions between these ancient European species and considers the welfare of the Przewalski's horse as part of an ecosystem in its own right.

    Of the horses brought to Spain, Engouleven, Sarine, and Apollon, one died the following year from a broken leg, and the other died suddenly. The remaining one lives with a female brought from somewhere. And Kharanga, a stallion living in Hustai, Mongolia, died just a year or two after the documentary was filmed. It's very sad.

    Bonjour.
    Ce reportage est très bien fait, ceci dit pour que ces chevaux il faut leur mettre un prédateur semi naturel, pour renforcer leur confiance en eux,mais surtout pour qu'il arrête de se battre, je pense que pour éviter ce problème de mâchoire qui leur enlevé la moitié de leur vie, je me dit qu'il faut absolument mettre une nouvelle génération de ces superbes chevaux mais avec une toute petite partie d'ADN de chevaux des Pyrénées ou alors le comtois cheval de trait. Enfin je trouve ce projet très intéressant. Mr. S.💕😘💞🙌🙋💢😍😝.

      Impossible, they have a different number of chromosomes to domestic horses, proving no descent from domesticated horses and no recent relationship with domesticated horses.

    • @MarioIgnati
      @MarioIgnati 19 днів тому

      @@victorberlioz1094read the article again. It says that the przewalski horse split from the equine ancestral line at a minimum of 38 000 years ago.
      This is long before the first domestication of horses and the Botai people by over 30 000 years.
      If the przewalski horse was descended from domesticated horses, it would show a split from the equine family line no older than that of the domesticated horse.
      The claim that the przewalski horse is basically a domesticated horse gone feral, is an old claim from farmers in the past, as an excuse to eradicate the przewalski horse from grazing their lands.
      The same was said about the quagga in the recent past, that it was merely a crossbreed of donkey and horse and could therefore be hunted into extinction, which it was.
      Calling any animal species a domesticated animal gone feral, gives government and hunters the license to eradicate it in the wild.

    • @MarioIgnati
      @MarioIgnati 19 днів тому

      Your people reduced the animal to extinction in the wild, therefore you lose the right to name them. Your traditional name went extinct with the horse.
      Przewalski who saved the horse from total extinction, earns the right to rename it.
      Perhaps if you wanted to use your name for them, you shouldn't have hunted them to extinction in the wild for sport. Shame on you and your people.
      Let the name Przewalski remind you and future generations of this shame you must bear until the end of time.

    EDxplain, WHY a horse, in a bad species strategic position< would be allowed to wander for 4 years without simply fixing him?? I don't buy this whitless competition for genetic betterment sh-- What GARBAGE.

    • @Darkstar-se6wc
      @Darkstar-se6wc 9 днів тому

      Veterinary science doesn’t have a good track record of “simply fixing” this kind of injury in a domestic horse, much less a wild one. NTM the extended sedation likely required would probably be fatal.
