If anyone pays attention to the original song, they'd know the song has main vocals and is also heavy in back vocals. People keep saying her voice is "altered" in the studio version when it really isn't. The song just has a lot of back vocals/harmonies. It surely doesn't mean she can't sing live just because her live performances also have those back vocals. Also, those who are saying she can't sing compared to her studio versions: that's not true - she just takes very different twists on some songs and likes to play around with the vocals or even the mood of the entire song. Sometimes this sounds "bad" to people because it's simply different than the original. Regardless, she is an undeniable talent if you ask me.
i agree.. she is pure genius who interprets what she is feeling and she has the ability to portray this ocurrence on a stage in front of thousands of people. lol we are not watching a pop singer.... we are watching a true artist of the first demeanor. we are so lucky to be blessed with lana's prescence. The world is a long way from cottoning on to just who lana del rey is. i mean what a great song writer and musician she is and man haha what a great performer she is. and hey guys look at the quality of the musicians who perform with her lol they are amongst the best in the business. so what happens on that stage is meant to happen and yes SHE CAN SING LIVE and we are blesssed
Say what you want about her, this is the most viewed Glastonbury performance on this channel and also one of the highest rated - so shes clearly doing something right for a great number of people. I actually think this is an excellent live performance, its intense and raw. BTW the nude photo referred to above, well, think again, do you see nipple, do you see pubic hairs, labia, or a bit to much of her curves that lead you to jump to conclusions that she is baring breech to please the feast, she is far from nude, naked, or properly exploited by a show and tell....put your Tallys away and look again, a hint of provocation does not milk the kitty of merit...
For the people who think that lana is glamorizing abuse through this song ... this song is sure about abuse but it describes the position of the abused person ( a woman here) that is in a love relationship with her abuser ( the boyfriend jim) and cant get out of this toxic relationship cuz they feel trapped This song is kind of a call for help .listen to the lyrics carefully and STOP SAYIN SHIT ABOUT LANA .. Thank you
It really pisses me off that her only 'well known' song in the UK is that Summertime Sadness remix. It's brilliant, but it's just like whoever released it is just catering to the typical idiots who are obsessed with summer anthems. Her music and voice and lyrics are absolutely outstandingly beautiful, she should be way more appreciated here.
Just because people aren't singing along doesn't mean they don't appreciate the music. Glastonbury is a massive festival and you can clearly see the crowd enjoying themselves. Just because there not die hard lana fans doesn't mean they can't appreciate talent
i like how from 2:38, this part of the song really goes well with the scene shifting to the gray sky...i don't think anyone might understand, but there's just something that mixes well with how her key changes with the scene pointing to the overcast sky
She is just amazing, unique, original and gorgeous. Love her music so much, it actually helped me during some hard times, no other artist could do that for ME. F**CK THE HATERS. ♥
Unique and Original are the same thing. BTW she isn't original, she got her style from the 50's and 60's. Yes her music maybe new but that's all the magic of the producer, not her. I'm glad you found something to help you through the bad times :D

She sang amazing in this I don’t get the comments? Also, It’s Lana Del Rey, we all know she’s a singer and her music speaks for itself she doesn’t need some stupid choreography she’s a *singer* and not every singer has to do choreography
@@lixwgf5824ok, but many people from some countries are a very rude public. They don't sing, they don't do anything and it seems like they don't like the music, that's uncomfortable
There will always, ALWAYS, be critics. In my opinion she seemed a little nervous and overwhelmed. Kinda like when she did "blue jeans" on SNL. Plus she hasn't performed this song a whole lot live. Add in this enormous crowd and you've got a pressure cooker of nerves. She's admitted many times before that she has stage fright and anxiety. But what I noticed more than all that was that she seemed like she was about to cry at points, so I think it may have been the emotions she was trying to hold back that caused her to get off track at points. Since this is the title track of the new album I would imagine it holds a special meaning for her. And if any of you are singers, you know singing a song that has a sentimental meaning for you can be VERY hard to do in front of others, much less a crowd this size. Singing while trying to fight back tears is hard. There were points in the performance that she was looking out at the clouds, and the storm rolling in, and you could tell she was caught up in a personal moment. For me, I'm a huge fan. Have been since "Born to Die" I love her because I love the music she creates. She's just different. And to people who say she's fake. EVERYONE in Hollywood is fake. I think she keeps it real much more than most others because of the kind of music she puts out. It was a risk. Her style is not IN style. If she was fake she'd be like Britney or Beyonce and make records to be played at a club for teens to dance to. She does music that SHE really loves, and it shows.
Agreed Carrie. Lana was really nervous in front of that huge crown and with the Camera's filming her. The cigarette was clearly to help calm her nerves. IF you look at her performance at carcassonne a couple of weeks later . you can see the difference. She can sing ,is hugely talented in the song writing /composing area. I think many females loath her because she is so beautiful and has a great body too. Personally I find her voice very soulful. She is vulnerable and she reminds me a little bit of Marilyn Monroe . I hope she avoids the fate of the latter .
Carrie Olson-Carden you have a great brain Carrie. I like your Photos too. You have a beautiful intelligent face. Must get around to putting "a mug shot" of myself up (lol)
Carrie Olson-Carden You are welcome. meant every word. No need to worry I live on a different continent to you and I am old enough to actually remember the death of Marilyn Monroe. As I said Lana D R to me exudes a little bit of the vulnerability that MM had. Of course men (in particular) find that attractive. nuff said
There is no point in insulting her not-so-great vocals. Because she is already aware of it and she never suggested that she's got the best ones. She says "I'm a song-writer and a recording artist". I think her acceptance of own flows is also very artistic indeed. In the other hand, she sang live here but used recorded "back vocals". Which is, in my opinion, better than using "someone else's live back vocals". Even if its recorded, the fact that it is her voice used for recording, is so beautiful in its own way. She might not be real, maybe a fabricated concept, but some of us could really use that anyway, to take us away from the reality. Some of us do not believe the art should be based on life, but life based on art; where she says "life imitates art" in her Gods and Monsters.
But her whole 'fabricated concept' is that of the exact opposite. Her facade is that she's a down-to-earth musician slumming it and living life in the nitty-gritty but in reality she's just a rich daughter of very rich parents who has everything she could want. If her manufactured persona was that of something not the polar-opposite to her actual self then it might be more believable and less contrived.
Perhaps her success is behind the talent of passing such emotions to the audience (believe me she does, including myself) when she "does not feel/experience them for herself" (according to your argument). Not defending her or anything, as neither her failure or success would make any difference in my life whatsoever. Just saying most people are aware what is going on with her, but loving her, her music and her art anyway :)
LordBerkshire, Oh no, we like the vocals, however it is obvious that vocals are not hers. No talent, no soul, lousy stage presence. Since she knows how to work her way to the top, then perhaps porno events would suit her better.
She has improved A LOT with her voice. Her live acts a couple years ago were pretty mediocre. You can tell she has put a lot of work in the singing classes. Good for her. Love this album
You can clearly tell she was thrown off by the backing vocals. The backing vocals were wayy too loud and she usually doesn't even use them. I saw her perform Ultraviolence live twice (once before Glastonbury and the second time after Glastonbury) and she sounded amazing; she didn't use backing vocals in either one of the shows I saw her perform this song live.

It's also important to say that this performance was exactly the same day, her friend Bobby Womack died. It was obviously a sad day for Lana. I understand why she wasn't at 100% at the stage.
true
All performers start out without people knowing who they are lol That is not an excuse.. She just lacks stage presence IMO
Would you be comfortable In front of like 15,000 people with two giant projector screens zoomed go on your face lol.
phsycopathichomie
The fact that she isn't, means she doesn't have any stage presence... dohh!!!
Ur acting like you know her personally but u don't so that comment was irrelevant

Cause Lana is pretty when she cries
Valerie Pérez PERIOD
She is not crying
shes staring at the approaching storm on top of all that
@@ahmadmaknunh.9420 she is, her friend died hours before this performance
This performance always gives me CRAZY goosebumps
Yeah but nothing like the gooseflesh I get from body electric at radio1
That ish still gets me.
Lana has that hauntingly beautiful mysterious voice, If I was a blind man I would find her voice amongst billions of others
The world will regret when she will be gone..
Ifkrrr😭❤️ she deserves so much
Stfu she ain't going anywhere 😠
Actually, Lana will be the one filled with regret if she doesn't repent of her witchcraft: ua-cam.com/video/Ld2MVafNmAM/v-deo.html
A I witchcraft? Lmao 😂 witchcraft or witches aren’t always evil. do you even know what a witch is lol do some research before talking abt something and almost everyone in Hollywood worship satan and all that shit.

This song is a full-blown masterpiece. No artist could ever accomplish lyrics and storytelling like this
If anyone pays attention to the original song, they'd know the song has main vocals and is also heavy in back vocals.
Amen to that
Exactly!
Yassss
i agree.. she is pure genius who interprets what she is feeling and she has the ability to portray this ocurrence on a stage in front of thousands of people. lol we are not watching a pop singer.... we are watching a true artist of the first demeanor. we are so lucky to be blessed with lana's prescence.
Her vocals are shit and whats funny about this performance is it's not 100% live
The crowd just quietly listening to Lana is perfection 💖
Her interpretation is so strong and charming, she hipnotizes me
Ultraviolence is so powerful!!
Say what you want about her, this is the most viewed Glastonbury performance on this channel and also one of the highest rated - so shes clearly doing something right for a great number of people. I actually think this is an excellent live performance, its intense and raw. Ultraviolence is the best album of the year so far and Lana continues to be one of the most interesting and talented artists mainstream contemporary music has seen in a very long time :)
your profile is perfect, Hayley Flawless Williams.
I'm so jealous of the people who were there... 2014, open air, Lana del Rey - absolute happiness that I will never have
1:36 her smile is soo beautiful

It's funny I was watching that part of the video when I saw your comment

She's GOLD
Will you be amazed if i say I just found her few hours back and listening continuesly for like hours or something without sleeping just Lana Del Rey is playing.
Lana has a soul on her voice that I could only see in Amy winehouse it takes me somewhere I’ve never been
YAAAAAASSS QUEEN SLAY ME WTF IS UP WITH THE CROWD
catmon143 they are bored by the awful music
Leo B .....smh this is gorgeous
I like how the crowd are quiet and respecting her talent, they are genuinely interested in hearing her sing live ❤
No phones in sight, just everyone enjoying the moment
There's way too many people for Lana I bet she hated this!!!! Lana's music is literally pure art and not many understand.
English pictures
oh jesus christ
@@MMKLYH she has stage fright and prefers small venues
Yeah
Absolutely
That was one of the most unfforgetable performances!!! So intense and sentimental. She sounds beautiful live
Is it just me or is there always a mass of dark clouds coming when ever Lana performs outside 😮😂
MistærGypsy the heavens r gathering to hear her sing!!!
my favorite performance from lana ever, its so beautiful
I agree, this chronically unresponsive audience didn't deserve the goddess Lana.
I agree like wtf give this goddess some love
@Foxglove I get maybe not making a lot of noise but literally barley a response e en at the end ypu can yell she was uncomfortable and restraining in her voice so any interest would have bettered here I get that you think louf noise wasn't appropriate
@Foxglove ok I did say without noise you can be encouraging or excited I get that they were probably pleased thanks for your points i I will be learning more about muting to properly give a response lol
they usually lower the sound of the crowd in the festival videos so u can hear artists better
I used to work in Ireland - I was amazed how quiet in concerts is there... Must be the same in Britain. They are so alike!
Ultraviolence is a beautiful album.
I agree it is excellent. It is full of tremendous modern pop songs like "fuck my way to the top" and "old money" (to name 2 of my favs)
Ultraviolence was the most iconic era ever. I didn’t think she could top the Born To Die/Paradise era but she did and my 17 year old ass was vibing 😍😫
Thank you
Help me, i'm addicted to this.
Do you live in the UK? A lot of her songs are recognised here
Just because people aren't singing along doesn't mean they don't appreciate the music. Glastonbury is a massive festival and you can clearly see the crowd enjoying themselves. Just because there not die hard lana fans doesn't mean they can't appreciate talent
+w0lfgrin Took the words out of my mouth.
katie Williams Yeah I live in the UK, it's only recently she's been starting to finally get some recognition.
what? Video Games and Born to die peaked in the top of UK chart
omfg is she even human
Ayesha H No, she’s god.

Lana is God
i like how from 2:38, this part of the song really goes well with the scene shifting to the gray sky...i don't think anyone might understand, but there's just something that mixes well with how her key changes with the scene pointing to the overcast sky
Yeeesss
YEAHHHH it's SO on point 😩😩
This is heaven in black and white tone for me..
OMG! I've watched this live so many times, but it still sooo PERFECT!
At least she doesn't need a fucking outfit to wow the crowd! Her dress is simple and beautiful! Love her...
I have no idea how she does it... but she's always just perfect.
Spudvader Her music helped . And you're right, those words are synonyms, my bad. See you !! :D
Spudvader I couldnt have said better
Spudvader Not quite the same thing. You can be original, but if someone else copies you, you are no longer unique.
garyp2727
hmm never really thought about it like that, good point :D
She sings the best when there are less or no audience.
That's one of the things i like about her.
she is more sinamatic, I would perfer to make her performances when its dark, and run her sinamas to spice the action
Rain B LOL.
+XY YX oh god she's like me :S i feel like i would seem like a show off if i attenpted to sing high notes
she sings good anywhere
This song breaks your heart every time you hear it. And it’s still worth listening to over and over again.
The sky is so Lana Del Rey vinly
Performance gave me chills reminded me of her amazing performance at Lollapalooza 2016 in Chicago . Unforgettable
Such an amazing song...it perfectly encapsulates the way I felt as a little boy watching it on the news with my precious grandma...it has always been a thing that affected me deeply...
I always come back to this one live performance. I doubt it’s just me who thinks this is unforgettable ❤. LDR is such an amazing artist.
All her songs seem to be ageless masterpieces
it's 2020 and I still obsessed with this performance! violent love is so hard to realize...
if you're being in a relationship like this, please, get help immediately! we all deserve to be happy and healthy
She sang amazing in this I don’t get the comments? Also, It’s Lana Del Rey, we all know she’s a singer and her music speaks for itself she doesn’t need some stupid choreography she’s a *singer* and not every singer has to do choreography
Her voice literally gives me chills it's so good
Why is the crowd just standing there?? I would scream my lungs out😭
Песня тогда только вышла, не все знали текст
@@lixwgf5824ok, but many people from some countries are a very rude public. They don't sing, they don't do anything and it seems like they don't like the music, that's uncomfortable
When channels post a concert clip or a full concert they mute the crowd so the viewers can hear the artist fully
I absolutely love her voice.
I love her "yo soy la princesa" ❤❤
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Imagine being in this crowd & enjoying her heavenly voice
I cannot put into words how much I love this woman
Hooh !! You're not alone !!!! 😅
Keith Bate totally agree! and me too :)
Carrie Olson-Carden you have a great brain Carrie. I like your Photos too. You have a beautiful intelligent face. Must get around to putting "a mug shot" of myself up (lol)
Keith Bate thank you for the kind words!
Carrie Olson-Carden You are welcome. meant every word. No need to worry I live on a different continent to you and I am old enough to actually remember the death of Marilyn Monroe. As I said Lana D R to me exudes a little bit of the vulnerability that MM had. Of course men (in particular) find that attractive. nuff said
like all that '60s vibe through the performance
lana's so good!
***** aww, the first recognition I've received today. :)
***** You can. If you pre-record the back ones, you can.
LordBerkshire, Oh no, we like the vocals, however it is obvious that vocals are not hers. No talent, no soul, lousy stage presence. Since she knows how to work her way to the top, then perhaps porno events would suit her better.
What a performance. I Keep going back to this. Amazing
A voice like this comes once in a lifetime. Her voice just takes you to anther plane of existence.
2.34 onwards is mesmeric.....
She has improved A LOT with her voice. Her live acts a couple years ago were pretty mediocre. You can tell she has put a lot of work in the singing classes. Good for her. Love this album
M WOLF she is less nervous too when she was lizzy grant and small crowds she was even better than this
I heard it's because she stopped smoking,
M WOLF Yeah bc she used to have major stage fright.
I suspect she's using live auto tune and pitch correction.
@@paraponon nah man that would lead to disasters like some of mariah carey's live. she doesnt
I love Lana and her voice is perfect
Lana is precious and her songs hit crazy hard
Dark clouds and a shining sun. Not only from the sky. I love this performance.
