@@redoctober67it comes up once every 20 duels or so. It's not worth it in most situations. Also you don't have room if play 3 phantom the fiendsmith cards, ddd and varusdras so most people don't use it.
@@CSCH69they wouldn't have a fiend on board and preemptively doing that tells the opponent you have a spirit in hand. I think the better play would have been link into closed sky with lurrie and squirmer then requiem to make sure you had squirmer gy effect live.
Christ this yubel deck is horrifying. Usually these kind of boards go all in but you still have a ton of follow up plays if somehow your board does get broken.
Comparing Yubel's evolution from PHNI to LEDE to now INFO shows how bad generic engines are for the game. Even if you incorporate Phantom to the LEDE version at most you get Varudras or Promethean lines while the engine is linear and fragile. Now with Fiendsmiths we got a much better Beatrice in Aerial Eater turning any 2 bodies into full combo, while the deck also got a negate that plays around DRNM/Droplet that would resolve successfully before Desirae came out. Fiendsmiths locking into LIGHT, or Fiends, or LIGHT Fiends would have made those boards a lot more manageable
@@babrad agreed. The game has always been slowly powercreeping with a couple of big bumps, but generic links (and even semi-generic ones like fiend) have constantly accelerated the game because you can always turn previously empty bodies into generic interactions now. Fiendsmith adds to that further. I think it's cool that YGO has freedom of play that really shows who is good at optimization, but that has definitely gotten a bit too far for my taste.
@@Avermra links were supposed to slow the game down, and they would have if we didn't get the Earth generic link "randomly" during a Zoodiac dominated format. You can notice those big bumps of powercreep with Knightmares getting released, Thunder Dragons (Soul Fusion), Orcust (Dark Neostorm) solidifying TOSS, and recently it was extremely evident with Adamancipator/Eldich, Rise of the Duelist in general and especially Power of The Elements. I would hate ygo to become entirely archetype locked but there should be some limits to generic support so they don't work with literally everything. For example Tear having no restriction at all making better use of the Spright Links than Spright themselves was criminal
I woulda used druis on squimer at 8:52, if that resolves it hurts them quite a bit. Forces them to do fiendsmith combo, aerial eater send a 2nd squirmer if they have it or do a weird muckraker line where they reborn spirit. Either way I think its a win win situation whether they phantom it or not since if they don't now they gotta get rid of this annoying druis on field that can be sent for droplets. If they do phantom it then it can be used on the unchained soul on ur turn. In the case they do phantom it now u can veiler sequence to stop des irae coming out so ur droplets does more.
Would like see some ABC or musketeers, dark world, sky striker, orcust, Something with Trigate Wizard (it’s possible especially in KashSE) and some Thunder dragons possibly Race & purrely….thank you my good sir ❤️🔥
I think this for sure will happen next ban list cuz the card is tooooooo good. Recycles cards in order to summon it then gives you the materials to summon it again the next turn is crazy. Yama should also get banned too, there is no reason a deck like yubel should be able to abuse that engine.
This banlist would have been perfect with Spirit at 1 instead of Gates, while leaving SnAsh at 3 and banning Flam instead. Phantom is busted but too new to hit, but without all those free materials thanks to looping Spirit it would be checked quite a bit. Also Samsara could soft brick similarly to having Poplar in hand. (snakes are "fine" now, but with Azamina they become the undisputed best deck yet again)
@@pedrohulk6928 one was a bulk common, the other was the reason to buy that entire while searching for Magia/lottery. It was very obvious they wouldn't hit it. Meanwhile limiting Spirit instead will do more than limiting Phantom if we want to keep the deck meta relevant since it's full power was about 1 month old, and it actually balances Phantom as well because it's harder to acquire all those free materials in the GY.
yeah that last game was played wrong forcing the hand traps and getting the druiswurm on board is too good especially cause you can chain block diabellstar by sending the druiswurm
A yubel player that remembers the gimmick and not comboing for 10 minutes trying to out the token then attack for game. I approve. I think normal summon squirmer was ok. Would have looked weird but if they used lurrie and squirmer to make closed sky then go into requiem they would have still had access to the yubel engine if fiendsmith got stopped.
@@NSR_R did you not see the game? if you saw the video you would know why I said that would have been the better play. Though how the game went it was probably better they didn't do that. Spirit would have been stopped by imperm/veiler. Doesn't hurt to try that line either way.
@@NSR_Rdespite "going neg" initially, it's a fail safe again blossom ending your turn as we saw. Putting Squirmer in GY gives followup, you can get Spirit that way, search a 2nd Squirmer (or samsara), establish Phantom then go for Fiendsmith plays. Even if Phantom etc bait stuff, Aerial Eater is there to help you attempt going back into Yubel engine. I also don't run Almiraj because after practicing a lot I just modified the start of most likes so I won't need it. That would have caused even more damage. Pain is the card reflect battle damage. Spirit can't reflect, Yubel and Terror reflect on being attacked.
