...last year, the ONLY reason I tuned in to watch the final, (not finals) was Caitlin Clark. A women's college basketball game! I might (probably not) follow her to the WNBA. The extra money she potentially could bring to the WNBA is the main reason other women should support her.
In the game Pete scored 68 on the Knicks, his last two personal fouls were bogus offensive fouls, the last one on a made basket. Pete faced a lot of hostility from his own teammates even though nobody ever lit him up, had the fastest hands in the known universe and was the ultimate team player. Very few people can or did grasp how great he was: Red Auerbach a notible exception.
What is most alarming is the double standard. If all the colors were reversed this podcast wouldn't happen; couldn't happen. Hate in either direction is wrong but apparently when its blacks hating on whitey; well then it's OK. This blatant double standard needs to end! They always talk about how important history is but then proceed to repeat it with the colors reversed.

Clark had an off night the other night against Penn State scoring only 27 points. However, she made 15 assists, most (if not all) going to a black player underneath who scored 40 points. I have several nieces right now either in college athletics or going in next fall - in part due to the sometimes lengthened education cycle. I also have a former world class niece who owns her own training facility for both male and female athletes. In addition, I have two academically brilliant nieces who don't play athletics and they have all been hurt by Covid. I hear it from them all the time. Disruption in the classroom and uncertainty about the future. Their careers have been put on hold and they are worried about the non interactive education they are being given. It would be a huge mistake to use Covid to condemn a student for having an extended period of time in school. In fact, they ought to be helping the students deal with the situation. She had far more advantages than Clark by having been able to participate in events that shaped her career and that were cancelled by Covid. Clark had an off night the other night against Penn State scoring only 27 points. However, she made 15 assists, most (if not all) going to a black player underneath who scored 40 points. Despicable to think that a white, non gay women would be discriminated against by the league for not being lesbian. It would be equally bad to discriminate against a lesbian player. If she is discriminated against, it will destroy the WNBA. We've already seen in this video the misinformation provided by Sheryl Swoopes. I understand there is already a huge negative reaction to the comments made by Ms. Swoopes. I think we will know shortly whether the lesbian charge is going stick. I watch Candace Parker on a regular basis and think she is one of the best "studio" announcers I've seen. Male or female. Her potential for growth in that field is tremendous. If there is going to be discrimination you'll hear or see about it from her. As to the impact of Covid on sports, the Covid era has impacted most every student in America. Not just Athletes. I have several nieces right now either in college athletics or going in next fall - in part due to the sometimes lengthened education cycle. I also have a former world class niece who owns her own training facility for both male and female athletes. In addition, I have two academically brilliant nieces who don't play athletics and they have all been hurt by Covid. I hear it from them all the time. Disruption in the classroom and uncertainty about the future. Their careers have been put on hold and they are worried about the non interactive education they are being given. It would be a huge mistake to use Covid to condemn a student for having an extended period of time in school. In fact, they ought to be helping the students deal with the situation. You can bet that most every parent of a student in American knows the problem. As to Ms. Swoops, her time in college and age was about equal to Clark's. She had far more advantages than Clark by having been able to participate in events that shaped her career and that were cancelled by Covid. Born in 1971, her first year in the WNBA was reported to be 1997. What goes around comes around.

What surprises me is that CC has accomplished a milestone. Even though Pistol never had the adv of a 3-point line. Still a great achievement. If you listen to the announcers during a game, seldom do you hear them say a Caucasian person is a great athlete. It usually is attached to a person of color, why? I personally have heard blk players ask the same question. Does it not get to the point that many black players feel they are better than others because they are blk? The ones I have heard comment have complained about this stigma being attached to them. If a player is good, they are good no race or ethnicity has an advantage.

Look sport's are becoming a one race event, White' s need not apply it started with basketball and in another ten years you are going to have all black football teams, can you name any defense that has a stand out white player? It's like Thay are not giving the time of day anymore. Baseball is still the only sport that the best players have a chance and even that will be questionable in the future. @15:25, I chanced watching Clark's highlights on youtube, and made me a fan, and watches Women's BBall when Clark is playing... and i'm not white and grew up watching MJ and the Bulls.
