Love how Dr Suleiman touched on the fact that children cut everyone off these days, and how society acts.
It's so very sad this happens and I'm glad it was addressed. Love how he ties the present with the Quran. We need this.

When I was reflecting upon the ayah where Yusuf AS forgives his brothers, it took me back to Surahs where Allah mentions His Prophets/Messengers , Q2:135, Q2:140 Q3:84 and Q4:163 and Allah includes Al Asbat (the twelve sons of Yakub). I took time to notice that Yusuf AS isn't mentioned in all those lists because he is joined up with his brothers. I got to thinking did they all become Prophets too?
However, Allah forgive the 10 brothers their sins and took to listing them all amongst His Messengers. It was manifestly humbling to me.
May Allah reward Sheikh Omar Suleiman, Sheikh Oduro and the other guest Sheikh and increase them in knowledge and wisdom. Amin
Mashallah, I am not Muslim (yet) but have been coming here every morning and evening before and after fasting. I am trying to learn and was wondering if there is a movie that you might recommend that talks about Mohammad the prophet of Allah.
Also, can someone tell me about where Jesus was in this story. He disappeared in the Bible stories until he was 33. He was Palestinian, right?

Salam, peace be upon you Rini :) I hope the fasting is going well for you and that Allah makes this journey of discovery easy for you. I can recommend watching cartoons on the prophets, for example on prophet Isa (Jesus). The channel 'stories of the prophets' is one of many options. Further to that, Dr Omar Suleiman has a series on prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) called 'meeting Muhammad'; I think you will really enjoy that and also get to learn so much more about Rasoolallah (peace be upon him). Dr Omar Suleiman has also given a lecture on whether Jesus was Palestinian about two months ago on this channel. I hope this helps! :) xx
The Seerah series by Dr Yasir Qadhi
The series is available on UA-cam, it is very academic and thorough.
It is kindof summarised into a book The Sirah of thr Prophet, also by Dr Yasir, available on Amazon.

The movie 'The Message' is really good as a relatively quick watch that is a broad overview of The Prophet (pbuh)'s story. It should be available on UA-cam!
Most mentions of Isa/Jesus (AS) in the Quran are rebuttals to the claims made about him. Yusuf/Joseph (AS) was way before Jesus.
The prophets before Jesus is Zakaria (AS) and Yahya/John (AS). The Quran surahs and verses are not in order that its sent down historically, by the divine wisdom and qadr of Allah.

There also a lesson in how to deal with rivalry among siblings. When Yusuf pbuh tells his father pbuh his dream, his father tells him not to tell his brothers and then continues by saying that the Shaytan is a clear enemy of mankind, so the real enemy at the end of the day is shaytan…and Yusuf pbuh learns this lesson so when they all come to him at the end, he explains to his father how Allah has shown ihsan to him by taking him out of prison and bringing them to him after the shaytan had divided them.
@22:00 I think also it stems from raw knowledge of Hellfire. "that's something I wouldn't wish on the worst of my enemies" common saying in West about many things. In Islam it applies to Hellfire so many times over. Astagfirullah.

Your siblings will be with you longer than anyone, including spouse and parents. Very important to invest in these relationships, especially after marriage and / or the death of parents as that is when siblings can become divided or pulled in different directions.

The answer's B. al-Wāqiʿah and al-Mursalāt. 2020's Quran 30 for 30 had the answer.
Ibn `Abbas (RA) reported that Abu Bakr (RA) said, "O Messenger of Allah, verily your hair has turned gray." The Prophet (PBUH) replied,«شَيَّبَتْنِي هُودٌ وَالْوَاقِعَةُ وَالْمُرْسَلَاتُ وَعَمَّ يَتَسَاءَلُونَ وَإِذَا الشَّمْسُ كُوِّرَت» (Surahs 'Hud', Al-Waqi`ah, 'Al-Mursalat', `Naba' and 'Kuwwirat') have turned my hair gray. In another narration he said (PBUH) ,«هُودٌ وَأَخَوَاتُهَا»(Surah Hud and its sisters.)
Ibn Abbas said surahs like these caused the hair of our Prophet (PBUH) to physically turn gray and he (SAW) was a man that had very few gray/white hair (less than 20 on the head and beard combined in one narration).
What surah Hud generally talks about is the destructions of nations after all the warnings they’ve been given. The Prophet PBUH feared that that punishment would come and be inflicted upon his Ummah just like those before us. The surah mentions Prophets; Nuh, Hud, Saleh, Lut, Shuayb, Musa- Firaun and how their nations were destroyed as they challenged their Prophets.
May Allah SWT forgive me for any mistake I've made.

Who are the sister surahs of Surah Hud?
In a hadith (tradition) the Prophet said that surah Hud and its sisters (similar surahs or chapters in the Qur'an) made him grow old, or they turned his hair grey, as a sign of growing old (Jami' al-Tirmidhi). The sisters of surah Hud are: al-Waqi'ah, al-Mursalat, al-Naba', al-Takwir, and possibly al-Haqqah
