We fed squirrels in our garden. It was delightful seeing them every day. Until one day we saw rats waiting in the same place the squirrels used to wait. We had never seen rats on (or even near) our property. The sad thing is, they would stand up with their little hands in front of them, begging, like the squirrels used to look when they ate.
They actually looked cute, like the squirrels - and I'm terrified of rats. They probably thought, "Why don't we deserve treats..why is it you like them and not us?" I had to throw objects at them, to discourage them, and of course we had to stop feeding the squirrels. I'm not saying it's inevitable that you'll get rats if you feed squirrels...but we did.

I still like feeding birds, but I'll think twice now about my birdfeeders. I once had a rat living in my Texas garage that lived on berries from my front bushes. I chased it out and stuffed steel wool in all openings by the garage door, and found steel wool the next day scattered all over my driveway.

I like how NY times Oliver wang was out there. NYC has the word rat problems…. Compared to what I see our problems 10-20x worse than that. Especially in the train station 😮. I love you guys videos. Very educational

The old lady should get a pet hamster and feed it to her hearts content. She can spend all the money she has on getting fish too. Feed the fish all the bread she can possibly buy. It's better than what she's doing, she's risking her neighbours houses from infestation too.

She's just very lonely. Someone take her to Petsmart and get a hamster.
