Tnazup The reason why Ru brought it up Jasmine's treatment on social media was that the response to Jasmine was UNNECESSARILY negative or as Ru herself put it, and I paraphrase, that the tone has become particularly dark from commenters in recent years.
People like yourself are forgetting that we're seeing a moment in these queens lives- we don't know how Jasmine is at home. So to say that she doesn't have an endearing bone in her body when you don't actually know her is unfair and shortsighted.
Brandon Kizart-Haynes well let's not forget the rant she had on youtube where she was blatantly transphobic. it's not right to dislike her based off what she did on the show, i agree wholeheartedly with that. it is reality television. on the other hand, disliking her because of the hateful and harmful things she said about other members of the lgbta+ community is valid.
Sarah M Do you actually want to look for reasons to dislike a person? The point that I am making is that we all fall short but these moments shouldn't define who we are as a whole. And its not an excuse for you or anyone to turn around and be just as nasty and negative, I would hope that you'd be above stepping down to that level.
I saw that UA-cam video that you're referring to and she wasn't attacking trans folk, she was defending herself from members of the trans community that she felt treated her unfavorably.
But if you're hell bent on WANTING to dislike someone instead viewing these moments as they are, then obviously negativity begets negativity.
peplika Exactly, what I saw was Jasmine speaking negatively about a cast members DRAG but not them as people but what I'm seeing in social media is people attaching Jasmine as a person and saying some really horrible things.
I mean truly nasty things and what's worse, they feel justified and don't see the irony in what they're doing.
It comes off as very self-righteous while being vile.
Brandon Kizart-Haynes I said that I agreed with the fact that she shouldn't receive hate. It's counterproductive to spread negativity, I agree. Don't make assumptions about my character simply because her 'views' are harmful.
I'm a person within the trans community and her video had a very toxic mindset. Why else would she try to defend herself against the trans community? Although I don't believe in sending hate to others because of their opinions, I can't speak up for my community in regards to that. People with her "opinions" bring down the trans community as a whole so we have every right to be upset.
I was trying to agree with you while telling you there are valid reasons for people disliking her.

Jasmine seemed to have gotten the short end of the stick as far as editing for the show.
Gabe Medina I agree, that's not to say that she didn't have her moments but I think people forget that we all have our moments. We don't actually know her beyond the show and if it worked better for editing to make her a villain then guess what the editors will do?
This is television after all, I don't think the editors are being malicious either, if the storyline they're crafting works better with Jasmine as a villain then sorry Jasmine, all of the nice things you've said like this quote above will be cut out until AFTER the show has aired.
