Cameroon were pretty good here, not quite the sensation that they were at Italia 90, but they looked good against the team that eventually finished third. One wouldn't expect, based on this performance and result, that they would get no more points in the group and score just one more goal.

Cameroon was without question the weakest team in the 1994 world cup. A sad shadow of the glorious 1990 team. In 1994 Cameroon was demolished by Russia and Brazil. And yet the very overrated Swedes were lucky to get a draw. Cameroon was clearly the better team in this match.
Overrated or not. Sweden won a bronze medal this WC, so they were a really good team, and this was their worst match, together with semifinal against Brazil.
@@Noobs343 they played a decent match against Russia, but they played poorly and were lucky in all other matches. Even Saudi Arabia was clearly a better team than the Swedes. And the Bulgarians were hung-over, Albania could have beat Bulgaria on that particular day.

You can always find things in the opponent team that make your team better, but Sweden played 1-1 against Brazil, they beat Russia, Saudi Arabia, Romania, no bad teams at all. Sweden was better than Romania and if that match did not go to penalties Sweden could have beat Brazil, they were that good. Sweden 1994 and Sweden 2002, the only two teams who could actaully have been taking a medal, and 1994 did it.

Maybe Sweden was better than Bulgaria in 1992 and early1993, but not in 1994, after years of showing potential Bulgaria had finally found their rhythm and their game in late 1993 and in 1994 they were on fire and would have demolished the Swedes if they had not been hungover.
