I cannot agree more with What Samantha says about always needing more beads, and differing bead shapes than what you first think. Lol.

Thank u Samantha! I really liked your design! I love the white faux and brown stone very pretty. I’ll have to try myself! ❤

Thank-you again. Very inspirational. Like the fact that you show the complete finished piece and how you put it all together.❤

The chunky one is more what I like but I would probably wear the single donut pendant more.
    Both are beautiful. ❤
I've seen Howlite made usually with only black paint. I like the Yellow Ocre and Burnt Umber (or was it sienna) better. I'll have to try that next time. TFS!❤

This is very like how i make faux turquoise! I just never thought to imitate howlite since it's so cheap, but it's definitely a much lighter alternative. Btw, i wish i had known about the alcohol trick years ago. Oh! All the sanding i did back then! Lol!

One more thing, adding a few drops of dish soap to the water really helps in wet sanding.

If I wanted to leave the surface paint, would I have to seal the piece with resin or sonething?

Yes. I'd use a gloss varnish such as varathane water based gloss varnish.
