@@Swat_Dennis some of those nations like China and Japan can really make use of it too. I've been taking the Ho-Ro to 5.3 br so it's nice to have something around the 4.0 tier.
The Type 97 Te-Ke which i believe at some point might got a new 37mm gun, the Type 98 37mm which had slightly improved penetration. Ironically the only vehicle with this tank gun in the game is the heavy fighter Ki-45 otsu and the penetration of Type 98 is 37mm at 500m, significantly better than Type 94. The Ha-Go in the game should be changed to this gun because it is a late production vehicle, Gaijin just doesn't care enough to change it after many years. Well, the just stopped caring about pre-war and WW2 tanks in general, too bad.
True, but they did have the istinct advantage of not blowing up when their fuel tanks were penetrated. A shame that Gaijin has forgotten this and modeled Soviet tanks to blow up, much more commonly than other nations, in sich a scenario.
@@ravenouself4181 Because of diesel's low flammability, there was even a Cold War British design for an airborne tank destroyer that would've used the fuel tanks as the main armor.
The 57mm cannon seems very prominent in Japan's tank development. Which I don't mind, the 57mm is a very funny gun at low tier. Once I top-attacked a Pz 38 (t) with the Chi-Ha at 200m with the APHE shell, while I was behind cover and he just came out from his spawn
If only gaijin gave a sh*t about low tiers, it seems like ever since Tier 6 was added- 90% of the game's focus goes into modern jets and tanks, low tiers dont print money like a new modern jet or tank does, so gaijin doesnt care.
The type 92 heavy armored car also had an experimental variant fitted with the 20mm gun un some chassis could be mistaken but they might have made one with a 37mm cannon on it
To be honest..... interwar tonks should be a thing in enlusted for all factions including japan. I guess... idk. I remember one of my old matches a dude lost a driver for his soviet t 28 and I managed to help him as driver and then a secondary turret (mg) gunner and it has its charm. Its like when you could operate different turrets in the old battlefronts such as in the Laat gunship but then on the new battlefront its like a kind of Ac 130 thing hive minded Ai contolled or something..... Multi- turreted tanks and interwar tanks could look absurd by ww2 tank standard BUT if you have 50 cals and AT rifles.... then the fun begins, another game that shows this idea this a bit better its Foxhole.
Off Topic but perhaps the greatest contribution of the Japanese in WWI other than escorting troop convoys in the Med was that the German East Asia Squadron was so terrified by the IJN that they left the Pacific
And for good reason. Admiral Spee knew that any battlecruiser would be more than a match for his entire squadron, and Kongo and Hiei were arguably the finest battlecruisers in the world as of 1914.
@@davidmcintyre8145 Spee's squadron would at least have the ability to run away if they'd encountered Ibuki or Kurama, though. (And that would've been the only sane choice to make in such an encounter.) While Kongo or Hiei could've effortlessly overhauled them without even sailing at full speed.
@@RedXlV The worry for Von Spee is if a Japanese squadron had caught him coaling and remember even at sea by 1914 the German ships had lost speed perhaps 2-3 kts due to fouling while Japanese ships would not have but certainly any squadron made up of Kongos,Ibukis or Tsukubas with or without HMAS Australia being present(as a Japanese ally)would have been the end of the East Asia Squadron
It is in game but as a variant that is a bit of an amalgamation of the 2 main Type 89 variants (A and B), so it has the modern hull of the B variant but retains the petrol engine from the A. So we could get the actual A and B variants, as well as the initial prototypes with 37mm guns if needed.
@Toreno17 Ah I see I see, but isn't the Japanese 37mm are lacking in penetration especially comparing it to other tech tree? I.e Soviet 45mm and US 37mm. I think it would be better too if all major nations got interwar tanks for balancing, Soviets 37mm is also pretty bland, in addition I would love to see the Te-Ke it's gonna be a rat tank for sure.
An interesting tank to add is the O-I heavy tank.
While not an interwar design, it definitely is more real than the Ho-Ri production
Uptade: it was very interesting indeed
sadly we will 99,9999% not be seeing any of these since gaijin is too busy spamming toptier copypaste
I love the new m44 4.0 artillery they added

This is going to be interesting
It's always interesting to see minor nations' tank development
While it is true for modern engines, that Diesel is more efficient, that is actually not the case for the Pre and WW2 engines.

They never did.
Another well researched video, thanks!

Love these videos, really wish Gaijin would break the low end of their old "Late Interwar to Korea" policy and give us 0.0-0.7
