      went for the 'Portrait of Poland' myself, I think it's quite underrated, tagging a country as target it always implies to behave like a foreigner, even if you are part of it, just flat, IMHO. He reminds me a Spanish photographer in a way, Cristóbal Hara, I feel it. Kudos Tatiana.

    A terrific mini documentary you did about Bruno Barbey. Although I never heard about this photojournalist before today, his photographs are very fascinating. Barbey and Ernst Haas were both expert in capturing the who, the what, the where and why of storytelling. Bruno Barbey wasn't a professional amateur photographer, but professional photojournalist. It's unfortunate he left us during the height of the coronavirus outbreak. I wonder how he would've captured the world post the pandemic/lockdown.

    Lovely and informative video. Didn't previously know about the photographer, but now, I am blessed to know about him and his work.
    I would like you to dive deeper into his 3rd project on China. I hope you get to know more about the Chinese culture and how Bruno's work on China is different and unique from other Western photographers' depiction of Chinese culture. I would like to know about the visual techniques and the sequencing methods he took upon to showcase his 45 years long project on a big populated country like China. Much love and support to you. Keep up this good work.

    The video is great and I thank you with my heart.
    If possible, for the next videos I suggest to keep the photos in the original file: the 16:9 ration and the progressive zooming effect look beautiful, but at the same time to see the original ratio helps a lot to study the composition.
    Thanks a lot, for everything you do!

    "My dream concept is that I have a camera and I am trying to photograph what essentially is invisible. And every once in a while I get a glimpse of it and I grab that picture". Leonard Nimoy
    It's difficult to tell a story in street photography without influencing the viewer with the story we want to tell and show. The tricky part is being able to isolate ourselves from the intention of telling a story from our perspective, and therefore, we end up not being able to represent what is really happening in our surroundings.
    Truthfully, I don't see a branch of photography capable of doing so, as ultimately, the photographer is influenced by its personal perception and ends up directing the observer.

    War / death shock jock pictures and good looks got him the initial fame and acceptance as the Clint Eastwood-like face of Magnum. He had talent of course, but so do hundreds of unknown or forgotten street snappers because they never got the warzone cover / good looks " connection " ;-) diplomatic father wealth and political influence huge breaks.

    • @TatianaHopper
      @TatianaHopper  7 місяців тому +1

      I actually didn’t take him as the Clint Eastwood like of Magnum, I see where you’re coming from and hopefully we get to cover some of those “lesser” known photographers like we have been doing from time to time, you’re most welcome to drop your suggestions!
