Impressive work. It sounds like something that could accompany a 'darkest hour' moment in the story, when all seems lost and the characters are at the point of giving up... but you pick them up and help them carry on to victory anyway, and this theme accompanies them pulling themselves out of the dirt. This song is all about capturing the determination to keep going despite defeat to me, and you've captured that essence perfectly.
Wow, thank you! These comments always mean a lot to me, super glad that I managed to provoke some kind of storytelling with the music! I totally wanted to keep the original tone of the song and just, expand it.
@@tunebea No problem, I'm happy to give feedback. I'll try to elaborate. I think the xylophone at the start creates a sort of 'reminiscing' aspect, as if the characters and playerbase are reflecting on happier times. The whole song is definitely subdued, but it doesn't strike me as music to match a hopeless situation where things are truly at their darkest. Rather, the strength in the strings sections and the flute seems to me more like something I'd expect to kick in once the worst is past and the heroes are just starting to emerge from the darkest hour, with the horn almost raising things to a, if not quite triumphant, then at least a hopeful tone that encourages the player to push forward despite how dark things seem. If the party were scattered by some terrible event, then this strikes me as the song that might kick in after you find your first companion and start to investigate the tragic fallout of whatever happened with them. I don't know if you've ever played Final Fantasy VI, but it sort of reminds me of finding your first companion after the mid-point disaster of the game, where the Big Bad causes a worldwide calamity, and at the same time scatters your party to the far corners. There's a very, very lonely stretch of gameplay after that where you awake to find the world in ruin, and it isn't until you find your first companion that the tone starts to become more hopeful. It's also still a great game over track, but it's almost too grand for that. Kind of reminds me of how 'to Zanarkand' plays double duty in Final Fantasy X as both a game over theme and the backdrop to a particularly emotional stretch of gameplay.
@@napoleoncomplex2712 oh wow, thanks! That’s super in depth, and I really appreciate the analysis. Just wanted to see what elements I should keep and what I can improve on in the future, and you’ve definitely given me that. Again, thanks a million 🙏🏻

This felt like that part of a story where the hope was so close to reach, yet failed, but was able reach in a dramatically epic way. This shows the great potential of the OST that is incredibly underrated.
it seems you have reached the end of your journey... you were unable to stop the *ROARING* the *TITANS* have appeared... Susie and Ralsei have been turned to dust... but... somehow... you refuse to give up... You refuse to believe you have lost... the feeling is indescribable... and familiar... you are filled with *DETERMINATION*
"you're companions may have lost their will but, you still have the courage to keep moving forward." idk i just thought of this while listening to this beautifully done remix :)
OOOHHH~ Balancing and juggling the three different motifs (Faint Courage, My Castle Town, and Don’t Forget) on the glockenspiel at the end was just absolutely delectable! So tastefully done! I think Toby would be proud at that feat!
Some ost's are really good, but need something to make it a masterpiece... He managed to give that little something that this ost needed. Congratulation
Thanks, I don’t have that many pieces like this as I’ve just started doing orchestral stuff recently, but I hope you like some of the different styles I’ve made!
I just think about something why has Kris the Soul of Determination? Didn't frisk and Chara has it? How did They Got them? Why did Frisk not Like Kris rip the soul Out and Live their Own life?
frisk… probably had no life left to live. they were having a wonderful time in the underground, and were probably worried that if they got rid on the soul, they would not be able to continue. or it could be that they didn’t know how.
I don’t think I’ve ever heard of that, but I’ll definitely check it out! I was more just inspired by musicians such as John Williams, because I like the way he uses weepy-sounding strings! Edit: Wow, you’re right, they certainly sound similar 😮

Kris... Timesa pretty good, timesa pretty bad...
But we must continue our save.
Kris when you force them to fight Spamton NEO for the 692nd time (He doesn't want to be determined anymore)
Now THIS, is the best remix of "Faint Courage" so far.
Change my mind.

This remix is fantastic. This song makes me want to cry so badly for some reason. Thank you for making this!
Aw thank you that’s so kind!
Faint Courage is such a good piece, it's insane how underrated it is. This really does it justice, love that flute at the start.
Thank you so much, I totally agree and think it’s one of Toby Fox’s best pieces of music! Btw, love your videos!

Thank you, i hope Toby would like it! I just wanted to get somewhere close to the emotion he puts in his music!
gives me major insurgence main theme vibes. its melancholic yet, somehow, gives you the strength and power to move on. awesome stuff dude
THIS is so goood! I love the emotions you placed in this song! Remember to stay Determ- no wait.. umm. Courageous!
