Great presentation! Do you have any tips on using a foot pedal while tig weld standing? I may be too uncoordinated but my attempts have not gone that well. Thank you.
I couldn't see the inside of the panel clearly enough where the welds were to be able to tell if the final weld penatration is enough that no backside welding is needed. Do you only weld the outside on aluminum?
no, I go back and fuse the inside of the weld closed. even with over 100% penetration there is a line where the weld seam used to be. this line is a stress riser and is prone to crack when hammering the weld back flat. So by fusing it closed it is cheap insurance the weld wont crack at that line.
I assume that is a nose piece you made. Can you make a video showing how you formed it. It looks like it could be very challenging. Thanks, keep the videos coming. They’re great as always!
@@upyours1256 could be a lot of things but my guess would be your angling the torch to much towards the filler, and keeping the rod in the heat zone. Make sure your keeping your arc gap close, correct amperage, and pull the filler back slightly between each dab
Great video Mike. Need to run this to show customers why it takes as long as it does to get a quality job!
I'm glad you found it helpful!
Recently found your channel and so glad I did - excellent content !
Thanks for sharing.
Awesome, thank you!
Good video. If the panel joint opens during tack welding, be patient and let it air cool and the joint will close.
Thanks
Thanks for sharing your knowledge, skills, and techniques.
Glad to help.
Damn. So much good info in such a short one. This would take a while to learn on your own.
Awesome 🌽 🐕 Thanks for servN up.
Thanks! Very educational
Awesome!!
Thanks!

you just have to practice and get used to using the pedal.
Informative!
What is your solution if it’s not possible to use a dolly from behind?
Remove the panel or inside bracing at a seam to gain access. Then put back what you removed for untouched appearance

Thank you for your answer!
I was thinking about fabricating a gastank. How do suggest planishing in that case?

Hey Mike. Which alloy of filler rod are you using for this application?

Build a car completely from frame to chassis and video it for UA-cam, then youre easily top 10 on here.
I have built numerous cars from scratch over the years
Great info!
