You shouldn’t do it that way. Loud is not powerful. Jennie has a lovely voice tone, but she isn’t a good vocalist. The second best one in BLACKPINK, but her technique is still harmful. Jennies technique is harmful - it has nothing to do with singing with a loud voice. Jennies is singing very throaty, with a very chesty mix and a huge amount of pushing. She is singing like she raps. YG even admitted that the artists don’t receive true vocal training, because he prefers them to sing in an “unique” style. Bom is a prime example for how much a bad technique can damage your voice. She regressed so much. Rosé is the only one who has some support up to G#4/A4, but that’s still below average. She has the healthiest technique though. It’s quite sad that YG doesn’t focus on the health of the artists. The voice is important and a healthy technique can really help to keep your voice in a good condition. Especially in Rosés case it’s obvious that she sang with less nasality and airiness pre-debut. They teached her how to sing with an indie influenced style - airy, nasally, thin. This is probably also the reason why she sometimes sound really off. Overly nasally and almost sharp - because she tries to add that to her natural voice. All of them have such lovely tones, I wish YG would focus more on their longevity as vocalists. even though she may not be dancing as well as she could here, jennie’s voice was very stable and angelic to listen to. did ya’ll hear those ethereal echos? she slayed! and it’s just a rehearsal, they’re meant to just find the right volume for their earpieces and mics, and the best camera angles. so long as you walk to the right positions, as you would in the choreography so they can find good camera angles, it’s fine not to dance. the dancing doesn’t matter as much as the singing does in a rehearsal, so why waste a ton of energy trying to dance like your life depends on it when there is little to no one watching? those who are watching are just the staff members, and they don’t really care about your dancing anyway. many other idols do the same thing as she does. and face it, if your “oPpAs” did it, you’d just say “awe, he’s so cute! sleep baby🥺” or some shit like that lmao. i’d do the same as what jennie did here. she’s still dancing, but she’s not tiring herself out. and besides, a rehearsal is more of a muck around and organisation time. even if she is being “lazy”, it doesn’t matter. but she’s actually not even being the same lazy as you’re trying to say it is lol, once again, she’s just not putting a lot of effort into it because it’s a rehearsal and it doesn’t matter. there’s a difference in between a rehearsal lazy and an actual performance lazy, that’s when you have to worry for her. so long as she works hard during the actual performance, like she has been doing for a while now, that’s all that matters. i love jennie, she’s just such a mood when she’s in rehearsals lmaooo, and she looks so good with that hoodie! she’s a little angel🥺🤍
