I love this movie, great chase scenes. Thanks for the upload. But these are not 500E's, they are 300E's, how can I tell? the stance of the wheels doesn't fit, the wheel arches aren't correct AND most of all, these don't have a sunroof, which was a standard feature on the 500E :)
I mean, back when they filmed this, you can crash that peugot, but 4 of those 500's would be to costly :P
They are for the most part 500E. My old 500E didn't have a sunroof. Only some scenes they used 300E

I am actually really glad - for some time I thought they actually ruined real 500Es for this movie. especially considering they destroyed an Audi quattro coupe just for a tiny scene where it crashes into a van.

I agree. Possibly THE best Mercedes car. Taxi drivers loved them and they could run forever, and they still do.

@sinaputkiacc uh no, you are wrong. "The Hammer" was the name given to this car by americans. That's what they call a 500E in the States. Just like they call a E24 BMW 635CSI "The Shark" :)

If driven well on city streets with lots of stops and tight corners then sure. On an open highway it's a whole different thing...
Haha good video, but i doubt that puegot would be running with the 500e's..Let alone on the highway.
The car was built for top end speed, then they just loaded it with torque.
I believe its about 330 BHP and 350+ torque
And probably tops out around 170-175 if you remove the speed/rev limiter

But the Peugeot in the film is with V6 modified engine for rally ;) and the W124 are not 500E in the movie. They only look like 500E , but originali they are E36 AMG version with producing 272 HP - very rare versions of the chochone merc :)
