Many fond childhood memories of this particular coaster model. They had one in Liseberg in Sweden that operated between 1980-1995.
Still missing this one! Nothing compares!
This Looping Star has already been gone for 13 years. And soon our Looping Star in the Dutch amusement park Slagharen will also be gone.
Real shame - they are excellent rides!
We still have one here in America. It's located at Frontier City in Oklahoma City that is still operating.
ClearSky Productions Frontier is owned by Six Flags now though, and as a result I worry for both it and the Wildcat's continued operation.
I would have thought that the film would have cut out from the extreme g's of the loop not on that bend. ;-) Nice video David! Thanks for uploading more older videos! :-)
John Brooks The D batteries were falling out of his camcorder.
John Brooks High G forces but still glassy smooth :-)
Schwarzkopfs tend to age pretty well !
Docktor Jim Don't you mean the car battery was becoming disconnected from the camera as it was sitting in his lap? ;-)
John Brooks '99, not '89.
***** Yes, I agree, Schwarzkopf coasters do appear to be quite smooth. I haven't experienced one yet, but your videos sure prove your point. :-)
the video quality is amazing for 1999
Thank you 🙂
Cool video!
Do you miss Looping Star at Bobbejaanland? What do you remember about this ride, did you remember it being smooth or rough?
It was intense but pretty smooth (as most Schwarzkopf coasters are).
Nice! Do you have more of those onrides from Bobbejaanland?
The-Kenny-Jackson Speedy Bob (both sides as it had two tracks back then), Revolution and Air Race.
***** Yeah, that onride of the Revolution i've seen that before :D But not from Speedy Bob or Air Race. I like that your uploading older onride video's it gives that nostalgic feeling :)
The-Kenny-Jackson I rode Revolution twice and only ever uploaded one of the rides...have recently re-mastered the old footage so a new version will be uploaded at some point. There is a low resolution video of Air Race on my channel though ua-cam.com/video/HCnE6HwfXzY/v-deo.html
Beautiful picture
That one drop took out your camera for a second. Was it really bumpy?
JHopkinsmusic1 Not really - just an old camera :-)
Was this on the site where Eurofighter Typhoon was built? The dates certainly match.
xtremespeed128 Possibly - I haven't been back since Typhoon was built so cannot confirm.
xtremespeed128 Yes.
I think that the looping star was in Slagharen. But hes gona. Because the triple launch coaster The Gold Rush.
But these are another cars.
I feel like I recognize the look of the track from a coaster I've ridden. I'm going to have to look this up, it's driving me mad...
asaguda Oh, Lisebergbanan, apparently, is a Schwarzkopf. At least I can tell you're not lying when you say it's smooth!
This model was Jet Scream at Six Flags Over Mid America (St. Louis) until 1988
