Can you please Blip when you say "Alexa" the people who are into this sort of material mostly own Alexa devices and it's annoying when you set it off by constantly saying it.
I’d really love to see a smart home guide for renters. I can't replace locks and switches. Esp because I live in Australia so we don’t have the same things available here.
Love the info. Would love to know which is best for a simple set up. I have Firestick with Alexa. Also have a Google pick for music and reminders. Have paired with smart bulbs but not too successful. Now want a doorbell and outdoor cameras. Thanks
Have you ever checked out a smart air purifier? I have a Dyson TP04 and thinking of setting an Alexa routine “cook time” to preemptively boost the purifying function. Healthy air healthy home :)

I'm a smart home enthusiast and have a bunch of smart devices and automations in my home. I love to watch videos like this even if I'm on the same level. It gets me so inspired. I'm yet to install a smart door bell, Swedish regulations are very strict when it comes to recording areas outside of your house, but I will get there some day. I also love the Nest thermostat, but as I understand it, it only works on air-based heating. In Sweden we have water-based heating so it won't work for me. Keep these videos going! Great work, Danny!
I love my Hue bulbs and they do motion sensors, switches you don’t need to install (good for renters), and they also do smart plugs now. I also like their range of bulb types.
I feel you should probably have two as Amazon can run my Xbox but apple home kit doesn’t but I find having the ability to decide which item I have to control certain things is important, apple and Amazon work pretty well together
Danny thanks for this! I'm a big believer of echo system but not going to ignore some of the other benefits. I'm big on Apple since I moved that way due to their echo system. I'm however open because despite liking the apple echo system for the most part there are some negatives! How much testing/experience if any do you have what the Apple echo system? Thanks again for your time and effort putting this together for all of us! Scott
Google is good at understanding context and smarter than both. Alexa is good at making custom automations. Siri is for you if you are locked into Apple ecosystem.
Hey Danny! I appreciate the beginner video and I am totally new at this. I do have a question for you. With the smart lock, if the power goes out would you not be able to get into your home? That is my only apprehension with that.
Thank You for that awesome video! I am a beginner and it helped me a lot. I really will be happy if you continue with that type of smart home videos. I want to understand how it actually works. For sure i will start with Google nest mini and some lighting balls.
I picked up the Ring outdoor camera and was told by the sales assistant that it was compatible with Chromecast and Google Home, wish I'd have seen this beforehand The nest camera is amazing though and has spotlights and a 110db siren which I don't think any nest camera has. Its about time Amazon and Google started allowing devices to talk to one another, its stupid to try and force your customers into one ecosystem
I bought some Lifx Bulb because they looked fun. I didn't know anything about them besides what the box said. A month later and my entire house is now Lifx Bulbs (small place, only need about 13-14), a Google Hub and a Google Nest Mini. Im interested in getting a smart lock and the Google Nest Protect next.
Using a legrand light switch, while you can dim the lights, will not allow you to change the color temperature of white bulbs , or the color of RGB bulbs, and of course , you lise the possibilty of controlling the bulbs individually.
Danny love the structure panel. Please do a video with structure wiring panel and whats needed for a panel. I’m in the middle of a smart home and rewiring with new cat 8 Ethernet and going away from Alexa to google
FYI.... the Nest thermostat might not work so well with older heating and cooling systems. Read up on it. For us it kept tripping the breaker because my ac could not respond to constant changes that the Nest made. I read that some people that needed the heat arrived home to busted water pipes that froze because the Nest didn't turn in the heater.
I'm about to move into a new house and am looking at how I can introduce smart home features so this was a great video - thanks for doing it! I'm already deep in the Google ecosystem so that's the way I'm planning to go :) It sucks being in Australia because many of their smart home products don't get released here, and what does get released is always the basic colours.
Nice video Danny. Perfect timing! Trying to get setup myself. As an iPhone user with a lot of Apple products I have been trying to go the HomeKit route but the product offering is so limited especially as I am in UK. Without using something like home bridge it feels like a non starter and I’ll have to go the Google route. Would you say there are any disadvantages in doing that over switching to Android too?
I personally use an iPhone as a daily driver (Android Phone also with me always) so using Google will really not get in the way. The Apps are plentiful on iOS for those products and basically you tie in everything with your assistant so for me it really doesn't matter. I like Homekit but it is too limited also for my liking and I like my Nest Ecosystem. Homekit is getting more robust though but I feel like they Apple gave up on it.
Don't you hate when people interrupt and knock on the front door in the middle of making a video. LOL thanks for some great ideas. I am on Amazon now looking for some Samsung cameras
This maybe a daft question but I am wanting to buy some Smart Plugs (Not sure which brand yet) and one of my ideas is to turn on a fan heater in my Garage. The garage is not next to my house so WiFi won't work in the garage. Will I be able to turn it on if it's not connected to WiFi?
I have the nest thermostat, Google nest home Max, and Google nest Yale smart lock. Also have hue lights and today probably going to pick up some hue lights strips. I wanted to buy a smart AC but unfortunately idk of any good ones most reviews weren't too great. I wonder if I bought a regular AC and plugged it into a smart plug if that would work!?
Thank you! Man the install video would be about an hour long but I will show in the next part of the series how to connect everything together. The setup and install is very easy on most of these products!
This is a great ans all, but many of these have their own apps making for a mess when you want simplicity. I would suggest to stick with products that use the same software when available.
I loved tje part when the guy tried to steal that package, dropped it then ran away. I bought a cheap 20 dollar cam. I may put it outside my new apartment to see if someone tries to steal my package 📦 🤔
Danny, just found you and I love your videos. I'm building a house now and looking at smart switches. I cannot find any comparisons of the Legrand vs. Leviton smart switches. They both look identical, but I'm just curious if you ever tried the Leviton? I realize you're sponsored by Legrand, and I'm leaving that way anyway, but any insight would be helpful. Also, maybe you've got some insider knowledge, but can we expect the wifi only Radiant line to expand soon to include the devices anyone for the home kit models? I really want motion and strip lights, but not into home kit. Thanks and can't wait for the next video
Legrand actually already has HomeKit versions of the radiant lineup. Honestly it all depends on what you want from the smart switches. If the other works better for your home get that one. I haven’t used Leviton yet but I have heard good things.
@@dannywinget I might have posed my question wrong, but I'm looking at the Non-homekit version for motion detectors, etc. All of the cool extras are on the homekit version only.
I am not clear on if you get a Google or Samsung hub does the cam etc then link to the hub or to your wifi? How about a sensor that would just tell you whether the door is locked or not? (Not wanting to or can't install a smart-doorlock.)

Danny Winget we all appreciate the time you took to make this video! Really helps get the smart home game going!
Love the info. Would love to know which is best for a simple set up.
I have Firestick with Alexa. Also have a Google pick for music and reminders. Have paired with smart bulbs but not too successful.
Now want a doorbell and outdoor cameras.
Thanks

I feel like my guy Danny underrated as hell, love and blessings bro!

Even as someone who already has a Smart Home for a while, I found this video really great and got some cool tips!
It becomes smart when you add some automations to it. For example integrate all into Home Assistant. Great system!
I feel you should probably have two as Amazon can run my Xbox but apple home kit doesn’t but I find having the ability to decide which item I have to control certain things is important, apple and Amazon work pretty well together

Most useful and realistic intro video to putting together a smart home. Thanks
A video comparing thee voice assistants is pretty important in my opinion. This has helped decide which ecosystem to choose.
Great video dude! I might use a few of these in my home as I get it completely setup.
🤝
Always love watching your smart home recommendations Danny!
Thank you!
Yes!! Do the Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri comparison😍!! Much Needed!
Google does the best
Alexa so good
Siri sucks at most things
@@bigmaxcc This right here!! 👌🏻💯📠
Just switched to Google from Alexa and it’s pretty solid
Google is good at understanding context and smarter than both.
Alexa is good at making custom automations.
Siri is for you if you are locked into Apple ecosystem.
Agree please do a comparison
This is the most clear and concise video iv seen on this subject thank you.
Hey Danny! I appreciate the beginner video and I am totally new at this. I do have a question for you. With the smart lock, if the power goes out would you not be able to get into your home? That is my only apprehension with that.
Great Video. It was straight to the point and convinced me to cross that line. I will build my smart home along with your videos. Cheers
Thank You for that awesome video! I am a beginner and it helped me a lot. I really will be happy if you continue with that type of smart home videos. I want to understand how it actually works. For sure i will start with Google nest mini and some lighting balls.
Compare the Voice Assistants please, for someone who is trying to decide on which one to go all in on it would help to have more opinions on it
Completely agree !
I picked up the Ring outdoor camera and was told by the sales assistant that it was compatible with Chromecast and Google Home, wish I'd have seen this beforehand

Really awesome intro to a smart home. I would really love to hear how you setup that one action/voice command to trigger all those events! Great job.
With routines

Smart lock . When there is a key inside you can not open it with key from the outside. For Europe is tado the best thermostat. With radiators valves.
This was such a good video! I am a new smart home user and I’m glad to see I’m headed in the right direction. Great tips and product recommendations
One of my favorite Tech You Tubers. Love how he keeps things really simple. Great Vid
Great video. Can’t wait for the advanced smart home you tube video.
Might as well get Vivint. It’s all integrated and can still see the camera footage if the WiFi goes down
your presentation is great, thank you very much sir. please can you make a video of step by step of smart home connection?
Such a beautiful home! Where did you get your brown 3 legged lamp from?!
And Wyze Lock with smart light bulb + Wyze smart plug and Wyze smart power strip. The only thing that they don't make is a wall switch. Yet!
Ready for your next smarthome video around routines!
That stuff is all vool but all im doing is getting a couple leds n smart bulbs to sync to my tv for more immersive gaming
I'm still a new to this smart home gadgets and watching danny videos really helps me get the basic idea ...thanks, you good man

Wyze also has a wired video doorbell will be released this year and a smart thermostat.
Awesome video homie.... really good starter stuff!! I’ve been looking to upgrade some of my stuff... I like a lot these.. thanks!
Thanks Bro!
I loved the video it was very informative. I wish you would have mentioned the Nest Protect though.
I liked your TV furniture. Where you got that from?
This is very informative. Thanks man!

Please do a difference between the three different systems!!

Yes please do the voice assistance comparison video.

Yesss do a voice assistance comparison!!!
Might have to do this!
Please do this !
Good Video Danny, I learned a lot
Great information! Would love to see a video showing how to install and set up everything.
Thank you! Man the install video would be about an hour long but I will show in the next part of the series how to connect everything together. The setup and install is very easy on most of these products!
@@dannywinget And how long it would take to edit it to.
Great video! Thank you
Maybe when I get an apartment I would see about making it smart enabled.
I just want a home 1st but I will get there one day I hope thank for another great video
When it comes to voice assistant nothing can beat the google assistant, alexa may come close but still has a long way to go...
Can you do a comparison with google and Alexa? I think I wanna change my house over to google but not sure of the differences
well done Danny
Great video Danny! Lots of useful information. Best smart home setups on UA-cam!!
🙏
Very helpful!
Nice video! Are you able to schedule lights on/off with the Legrand switches?
And Wyze Cam is about to release a Home Security feature to call police in the app if you see a break in event in your house. Cool!
Great video and editing!
💪💪💪 thanks for the ideas!
love this thanks
Can I use the Sync Box with Smartthings without an Hue Bridge? And does the Hue Bulbs get Updates through the Smartthings Bridge?
Really helpful video. Thanks for all the info
Love the video bro
This is a great ans all, but many of these have their own apps making for a mess when you want simplicity. I would suggest to stick with products that use the same software when available.
Yup I said that. Basically going with an ecosystem makes things easier. That’s why I use Nest. It’s all in one place and works flawlessly with Google.
This guy is already living the cyberpunk life.
Hi sir, I just want to know, how you get a notification on TV. which Tv model allow you that. Thanks
All recent Samsung TVs with SmartThings App/integration can do this.
Great video!
Do the comparison video I have all three and I wish someone would’ve done a video before I ended up with all three
soo simple explanation 😍
I loved tje part when the guy tried to steal that package, dropped it then ran away. I bought a cheap 20 dollar cam. I may put it outside my new apartment to see if someone tries to steal my package 📦 🤔
Was that an AP in your kitchen or a fire detector on the ceiling?
Please do a comparison of the voice assistants.
Danny what is holding your phone up on the kitchen outlet?! Is that a wireless charger?
Well done, all of these his smart home yours are legit cool🤩
i really like your TV unit, can please leave link to purchase that?
Great series! Thank you.
Love nest just wish they were playing with Apple HomeKit
Recently my nest smoke detectors went off line and I can’t connect them
Great security door locks, but they all have one flaw, the door......MUST BE CLOSED! Seinfeld reference.
Ha! For real a autoclose would be awesome but that would cost a lot of money I bet and would take some serious hinge work and frame manipulations.
Where did you get those radiant light switches? Amazon has a poor selection and the radiant website is trash!

Just Google Home. Easy to do.

Great video Danny!
Could you review the Lutron Caseta switches and compare them with legrand?
Very helpful videos
I am not clear on if you get a Google or Samsung hub does the cam etc then link to the hub or to your wifi?

Can you do a Google vs Amazon vs Apple video?
