@@Turbo_1701 - Seems unlikely that they'd unbalance a rule that already worked in previous editions. I absolutely love this NRB taking on big, messy games like this. I imagine it is a significant increase in work for them, with all the rules, setup and so on. But it is so fun to watch.
@@boodesultan12Honestly, I'd only be guessing, but he seemed more like one of Adam's friends he made during his time managing Draughts than a collaborator with the channel itself and it is probably less complicated for him to not starr as much in NRB content going forward

I love that every nemesis game is so similar (such a good base for a game in general) but with enough differences to make them all very fun sequels to each other
every game of Nemesis you've ever played on the channel and on patreon is a straight up masterpiece. i know they must be super laborious to make but these huge, intricate games are some of my favourites to watch.
she's arguably the *best* choice for us as viewers because she just can't resist the sweet temptation of treachery, i love seeing Holly in co-op games. but trusting her, as a fellow player? straight up naive.
Now, if watching this channel has taught me anything, social reads are never reliable. Having said that, it took less than 30 minutes to immediately suspect that someone is actively sabotaging the other players.
I've been looking forward to this all week! Missing Isaac, but I'm sure whatever he's up to at the moment, he's doing it through a layer of slime. And while Sully may not be playing, at least we got another solid ad read. Hope he got his tea. And Tom is likely heeding the siren call of science, wherever he may be. Only starting and Holly's already nailed it with that cryosleep joke, and the game itself looks like it's had some neat implementations. Is it sad that I'm excited about the corridors and the backpack system? No, definitely not, I'm definitely still a cool guy.
Doors confused me at first as well. But basically when a door symbol is shown on a corridor, it is connected to the room that revealed it (basically put the door on the edge of the room and corridor). Then any intruders that spawn in that corridor will be on the other side of the door. Meaning you can't Burst onto that corridor, and when the intruders try to Move or Onslaught, you destroy the door (remove to back to it's pile) and cancel the Movement/Onslaught. Also unlike in both Nemesis and Lockdown, players can't place new doors themselves. If a door wasn't shown on a corridor when discovered, there is no door there.
I know that Lidl is a supermarket, but as an Australian, I have no context for how much of an insult "Aliens, but from Lidl" is. Or is it a compliment?
Stumbling across board game masterpieces of the original nemesis introduced me to board games. Purchased that and my finances have never been the same since 😂
@norollsbarred Ken is my hero. I used to turn up the computer speakers to max volume when my brother was sleeping in and just click in circles in red alert just to blare "ACK-KNOWLEDGED" over and over again LMAO
I can’t believe they played for three hours, and no one mentioned that when two people are on either side of a corridor, you can secure it. The corridor tiles have two sides.
I just watched ALIENS for the first time 2 days ago, now im binge watching the BGC Nemesis series and i finally got the opening line reference. I Love No Rolls Barred!! and Nemesis!! and ALIENS!!!!
So good!!! 😂 Loved this playthrough, and it really helped to get the feel of the relentless onslaught of aliens in this new nemesis. Thanks for sharing your fun 👍👍
I was so excited when I saw the Gamefound update and even more excited when I saw that this was being played. Love this game, excited to play the trilogy and loved this prototype play through. Hope we get another video in the future with the same group so Jon can get revenge on Ken, or see Ken execute his fully dastardly vision of dropping the eggs for fun.
So...and I may be nit picking but if there's no oxygen in rooms, wouldn't fires in those rooms extinguish? Should be a rule for that when that happens, I would think.
@@raider1o295 this makes no sense from a science or engineering pov, but fine. So why did they still keep using up their oxygen after they turned the life support on?
The Second Nemesis is how I found you guys, all three of your playthroughs are my favourite videos you've made. I hope you'll play this again, maybe with Sully, Isaac, and Tom to bring back the original crew for another adventure
I'm super proud of Jon for making it as far as his did before his meltdown. (No spoilers you knew it was coming). You have progressed wonderfully sir! I still remember the first Jon mental break I witnessed, Unfathomable. What was yours? Lol 😂
Brilliant video, so fun. This got me hyped to bring out my copy of Nemesis and herd the cats to get together to play it hahah. I know you've probably got your camera setup sorted but this type of game is perfect for an additional camera pointing at the board from about head height and angle, maybe zoomed in on the location of the board where the action is happening. Maybe a bit too much extra work, but it would elevate this type of game where there's dramatic action to zoom into on the board.
If I'm not mistaken, all those events that had you put a noise token/changed noise into hordes that affect every open corridor with a path to the lander should've been every corridor on the ends that aren't explored yet that have a path without doors to the lander room. You only did stuff with the 3 corridors around the lander. Would've made it harder.
Glad to see nemesis come back was one of the first videos I watched of nrb on another note Holly got that cowboy bebop t-shirt 👌👌 the chaos that happened so early on in this was insane 0 to 100 real quick
I can't wait for my copy to arrive, when they eventually ship, so I'm so glad I get to see you guys play! Nemesis was the first game I ever watched you guys play and gosh dang it was one hell of a ride!
I loved these 3 hours! Amazing stuff! Retaliation seems super fun, I didn't really enjoyed Lockdown that much, but Retaliation seems as fun as the base Nemesis... maybe even more? I don't do preorders/kickstarters, so I'll have to wait a long time, but it is fine :)
Kevin has a holly hand, so many blank alien chips! Also he was the only one actively moving, killing with such an ease and the one who most suffer of the no oxygen dynamic hahaha Might edit this after I finish watching this drama.
I would love to see the crew face off against some of the different species available. Seeing Sullivan go crazy facing the Voidseeders would be absolute gold.
I know i'm 1 month late and i'm loving this episode so much but I have a feeling Teri said they attack john and not the person who they should be just to spite John more XD
Movie starts, marines barge in, combat engineer gets hurt early on and stumbles back to the surgery room and then it's just an hour of scout being all tacticool, clearing out room after room, wiping his brow "wow, this is going all right so far", and then it cuts to the two bickering, half the rooms on fire and a gravely wounded engie pummeling an alien with a butt of his shotgun. To be honest, judging by the title, I hoped the players would at least start with some hefty advantage this time around, but it seems like they're on the back foot pretty much straight away again. Not really my kind of game, I guess.
Yeah, it’s still brutal, but killing the intruders is a lot easier in this than any of Nemesis game. Here you can gun down three or four intruders in an action which is considerably more powerful than other games. Of course there are tons more aliens here, so typical movie conservation of ninjitsu trope. But it echoes the Alien to Aliens change fairly well.
