Whoever thought of that last shot is a genius and needs a raise. It crazy too there releasing it exactly five years apart to the date! Joker- October 4th 2019, Joker 2- October 4th 2024
@@GangstaStan010 if you enjoy movies a lot you enjoy movies. I'm a casual observer. I could probably tell you a lot more about F1 than the average guy we all have our interests doesn't make you any less weird for knowing.
I've only watched the original Joker once - I think it's such a rollercoaster of emotions, it hits deep. I'm going to have to ride that rollercoaster again before the next movie comes out. Seriously looking forward to going down this rabbit hole :)
The theme song for the trailer, along with Arthur's main line mentioning that he's not alone any more and that _THAT'S what they should be talking about_ makes it feel like they're going to be focusing on shared escapism as a way to cope with the way that the prison system is even more cold & detached from caring about genuinely rehabilitating them as the mental health system was in the first film. I'm just curious how much of that will be something where despite being a chared madness (as the title implies) it may be something subtly different from Harley's point of view compared to Joker's. While it seems that they both use that mutually relatable trauma & escapism to idealize a version of the other person that they're joining up with - it's likely that they both see each other as someone that's slightly detached from the reality of who they each really are underneath. This is a big reason why classically their relationship ends up being so deeply toxic within its tightly bound codependence, but it's also something that we already know is within Arthur's psychological profile to experience from the first film (which, like you, I also haven't been able to rewatch since seeing it the first time).
VERY Interesting opinion. I'm right there with you. Also, it really seems like I'm not the only one who hasn't been able to watch it a second time. Maybe I relate to it too much...aside from murdering a celebrity on camera 🤡
@@galacticriminalx Yeah, it's a tough thing to commit yourself to when you know where it's going. The first viewing has the benefit of the unknown in its favor. I think *_Joker_*__, __*_A Scanner Darkly_*__, & __*_Grave of the Fireflies_* are probably the films I'm most grateful to have seen once, but am deeply averse to re-experiencing. Every time I think about the start of that film, I just remember how right from the opening Arthur plainly describes the dream of who he wants to be to find a place in society making people laugh. Circumstances only give him comfort when he ends up necessarily embracing something that's completely disconnected from that dream in order to lash out against the pain he's experiencing, until he's left smiling through a nightmare of the face he's literally painted on that everyone accepts ...while that ideal part of himself is even more invisible at the end of the film than it was at the start. Not the easiest thing to be reminded is deeply relatable for 2 hours, but luckily this sequel still has that advantage of not for certain knowing where it's going yet so... 🙃
It hard to watch cause he is literally like a clown king(King Arthur) or clown Jesus and you just can’t tell what’s real and what’s not which I like but it does make you sad this one will be more of now it’s okay cause even tho it’s hard your not alone and I saw joker 11 times 9. In theaters and I was only 19 now I’m 24
i didnt think that Gaga was gonna be the choice for Harley, but we'll have to see. after all tbf i didnt think that Joaquin was gonna be able to pull off Joker either, so i'm gonna cautiously optimistic.
Probably one of the most beautiful trailers I’ve ever seen! Just so well constructed to not give away too much but enough to keep you hooked!
