Incase anyone wanted to know the true story behind the movie, here it is. Dylan Thomas was a famous Welsh poet in real life. That’s actually the reason why I watched the movie because I love his work. Him and Vera Phillips were best friends in real life since they were toddlers. However, they never had an affair (that we know of.) In fact, they were actually distant cousins. They never knew until much later on in their lives because both of their families had a complicated history where a lot of people cheated on each other to the point where the families didn’t even know Vera and Dylan were cousins for a long time. Vera was not a showgirl. She was a brilliant and talented sculptor who graduated from college (unheard of from a woman back then.) Her and Caitlin did become best friends (naturally, because she was friends/cousins with Dylan). However, nothing weird ever happened with Vera, Caitlin, and Dylan. William and Dylan never hated each other. In fact, Dylan was William’s best man at his and Vera’s wedding. Vera did however spend William’s money on them, which resulted in them going broke, which resulted in conflict. William’s PTSD breakdown did happen. He accused Vera of having an affair with Dylan, which she denied, because she didn’t as far as we know. The bar fight did happen but there is no mentioning of William hitting a woman, just men (he could have though, but I found no record of that.) William did attack the Thomas home, but Vera was not home during that time, so she never got injured. William went to trial and got acquitted. He obviously never got help for his PTSD because you didn’t back then, but he learned how to work through it. Him and Vera ended up solving their problems and went on to have 5 children. One of their Granddaughters actually helped create this movie (I don’t know why she let all of the fiction slide, but whatever.😂) Vera, William, Dylan, and Caitlin did have a falling out though. Dylan and Caitlin’s relationship was pretty much spot on though in the movie. Dylan was known as a manipulative womanizer. He constantly cheated on Caitlin and emotionally abused her (not sure if she cheated on him though.) So, that’s the real story. More fiction than fact but that’s most movies. I based my research mainly on what Vera and William’s granddaughter said (who didn’t come out with the truth until confronted by angry family members. Even the cast thought the information she fed was true.) She openly said that the affair part of the movie was fictional and only based around rumors being spread around town at the time (hence why William thought Vera had an affair with Dylan.) In all actuality, this is more of a “what if?” Story. Don’t understand why their granddaughter did Vera, her own grandmother, dirty in the movie considering she never cheated on William (although she did spend William’s money.) I’m happy the real life William found peace and changed. And although Dylan Thomas was a jackass, I recommend you read his work because poetry wise, he’s brilliant. Caitlin was an author too.
Could it be that we just don’t know the truth, and the granddaughter who helped make the movie actually knows what happened that’s why they put those things in there?
@@AquariusReadsFantasy I’m not denying the affair could have happened. I said that in my comment. It could be a possibility that Vera and Dylan had an affair (I hope not because they are related but unfortunately that was VERY common then.) I did my research and based it mainly off of what the granddaughter said. She openly said the affair didn’t happen (that she knows of) and the fictional part of the movie was based off of speculation and rumors around town. The affair could have happened, it could have not. Nobody knows for a fact except for the four people who were involved. All I know is the granddaughter openly said the affair part of the movie was fictional.
She was a terrible wife to that poor wretched man. In his absence, she had this weird sexually charged relationship with her ex and his wife, like they were partaking in some ménage à trois or something, she definitely slept with the guy, plus to add insult to injury she spent all his money on them. By no means was this a good love story.
I know but I think she learned her lesson at the end. She let the toxic Dylan go and began to truly love her husband so it actually ended better than it could have.
Don't think anyone said it was a good love story? Characters with flaws are what makes excellent story telling. It makes it real and honest, and interesting. I personally thought the friendshp between the two women was really well done, it was the centre of the story really. People are totally irresponsible to the feelings of others in a filthy way. Incredible. Marriages today are massively destroyed because of this lack of control over their own bodies. And the "relationship" between those two women is just weird. If this is as close as we come to love or friendship, I certainly don't want it for my life

This could have been such a beautiful love story. I just hated that she hooked up with that friend of hers who was quite honestly just awful and he was married to a good friend.
Lovely movie of how people can love more than one person both emotionally and intimately, and not get lung cancer at the same time. My lungs hurt at the end of this movie, and so did my heart.
@@NourMohamed-um4hmwhen did that happen like he said? Her character was very weird. Why didn't she love him when they got married? Only after he goes to the war. She kept saying I love you but she didn't say it even once. Not even to Caitlin.
@@happiyyyy I think Vera was unusually immature for a woman of her age and era and I think she was unstable as well. She was narcissistic and far too superficial and it says a lot that she saw nothing wrong with taking in a couple of freeloaders. He kept saying he loved her, but she kept throwing it back in his face. I'm glad William lost his shit and lashed out.
this movie in fact did hurt me. war and romance always hits so hard and I don't know why. I feel bad for William, he went thru so much and I feel like vera could have be a bigger suport. as I red in one comment here, in real life she did not cheat on him with Dylan but in the movie it was so much I understand why William acted like that. @@narunatsu1 seen them all, lol. I really hate that he dies in so many of them! The problem with inception, other than the fact I had no idea what was going on, was that Cillian didn’t enter until 46 minutes in. But boy was it worth the wait! Out of the 38 movies he’s in (not including PB) I’ve seen 23 so still working on it. My faves so far have been On the Edge, Intermission, Perrier’s Bounty, The Delinquent Season the Edge of Love and Watching the Detectives. Why did I think it would end up sadly? Beautiful video, I have never seen this film but this was recomended to me so I thought I´d watch this. I actually cried during this video, so trly amazing job!
I haven’t actually heard anyone say that Cillian is creepy before🤔 I’m a big fan of peaky blinders and I love his character Thomas Shelby. I have yet to see this movie though. I believe that if you found him creepy in this movie, it just proves that he is a great actor🤗 I have some actors which characters I absolutely HATE, but that is weirdly a good thing. For me those feelings just proves that they are able to really bring a character to life. It’s hard to separate the actors from their characters, but you should watch him in interviews😊 He seem very shy and it’s clear to see that he doesn’t really enjoy interviews, but when he is comfortable enough to joke he’s absolutely adorable.
Perhaps intimidating is a better word. Because he embodied the character so well, I always expected Cillian to randomly snap whenever I saw him because of his behavior in this movie. He always plays characters that are problematic. Meaning you never know what they'll do in the next second. I am aware that he is a very sweet and kind person. He's quite hilarious at times too but because you don't see him in interviews very often, it's easy to assume he's like the characters he plays. Hope that explains my note a bit better.
BlueBell Thank you! I appreciate your kindness in stating your opinion as well. It is nice to be able to discuss opinions with people that don’t get mad or worked up over it.
Am I the only one where this movie broke them? Because they carried so much love for one another. Like they built this life and we’re so happy and then when he got back from the war it’s like it all disappeared. I know that she still had a thing for Dylan, but she still loved him. It’s like their love was ruined and didn’t exist anymore
On the contrary. She appreciates him more afterwards. She took him for granted when he was overly nice. When he was head over heals. When he came back and suddenly he wasn’t so in love with her anymore, it was like a wake up call, a reality check. He didn’t take her shit anymore and she was forced to choose, and she chose him, because she loves him. Truly. In some ways, the war made William stop being a pushover and actually grow a backbone and stop letting her push him around and humiliated him. As for the love, it didn’t go anywhere. William was sick, so far gone in his trauma that he couldn’t feel anything for anyone. He still loved her, and you can see that because he slowly gets better by the end. When he approaches to bathe the baby having not gone near him when he first came back. He was also mad at her, mad at the fact that she might have cheated, mad at the world, at everyone there (the bar fight), mad that she blew his money while he was out there barely alive. William still loved her, even after he came back, but he needed time to feel that love again. To be able to feel anything again besides fear. And she needed to stop being a shitty wife and actually start to treat him better, to be loyal to him, to choose him and be content with him. They both needed to heal. And that’s what’s so beautiful about them. They went through so much, suffered so much, hated each other, fought each other, struggled, but at the end she showed her true colors. She stood by him through it all. Even after he accidentally knocked her down with his gun. She knew she owed him, she knew he was too good for her, and she knew his worth. It’s very beautiful.
Vera's character annoyed tf out of me. And what the fuck is this how do you casually kiss your friend IN FRONT of your husband you just married and his wife?!? And it is relevant for William to be so pissed and angry because you're THAT close to the person you first had sex with and the fact that he came home after such a long time just to hear all the people talking about his wife and her "friend" having an affair, like gosh even I was angry. Like just imagine coming home, seeing a baby with your wife and not even knowing if it's yours. And we obviously cannot miss that Vera did actually cheat on him. She did not love him. If she did, she wouldn't cheat on him. I just liked William and others all were just NOT IT. Anyways Cillian Murphy slayed as always. He should be in more romance movies hopefully with better stories than this.
bronwynalexandria dw it’s still going to be enjoyable. I didn’t put everything in the video and the movie is more than just Vera and William. I completely took out her story line with Dylan’s wife who she because best friends with and her relationship with Dylan.
Watched the movie tonight and identifying how Vera was being friendly asf to Dylan the whole time while William was there and gone fighting made me have memories come up about shit like that, so I already figured how bad it may turn out til I realize how he was burned to the core from what he seen in Greece then to me it was game over for Dylan's bitchass..Overall a great movie to keep you guessing what'll happen next with Vera and William, hope she tells him later about the child and they can heal🖤

@@yoonaz1118 i watched it on watchseries, i'm sure it's available on other sites like putlocker or fmovies etc
@@rachels9937 Ok... Thanku..
yoona z you can watch it on amazon prime for free or buy it on google play
Absolutely agree! How it's possible that Vera was in love with Dylan. I was 😕
This is the movie that made me watch peaky blinders. Now I'm madly inlove with Cillian Murphy.
This could have been such a beautiful love story. I just hated that she hooked up with that friend of hers who was quite honestly just awful and he was married to a good friend.
I'm deeply in love with Cillian
Lovely movie of how people can love more than one person both emotionally and intimately, and not get lung cancer at the same time. My lungs hurt at the end of this movie, and so did my heart.
you can’t truley love someone if you truley love someone else that in turn is just ignorant selfishness, and why would ur lungs hurt lol
I don’t think she loved dylan at the beginning of the movie maybe but when she married william she was only in love with him
I hope you are doing okay 🤍
So many love for Cillian in the comments sections ❤️❤️❤️
this movie in fact did hurt me. war and romance always hits so hard and I don't know why. I feel bad for William, he went thru so much and I feel like vera could have be a bigger suport. as I red in one comment here, in real life she did not cheat on him with Dylan but in the movie it was so much I understand why William acted like that. I watched it for Cillian but ended up staring at the wall for hours after I finished. It hurts, a lot. it really did something to me I can't explain. so yes, I loved this movie and I hated Dylan and loved William, he somehow deserved better than that. and the fact that its a true story is hurtful. the cast is so perfect for this movie. I loved it , thanks everyone who worked on this movie. loved every second of it
Goooosh his lips and eyes are drown my heart. He always looks young. What a dreamboat😍
Cillian was so dreamy in this movie
Everyone is talking about how beautiful Cillian is but I think Keira is absoloutly gorgeous here, she's my favourite actress and script of this movie was written by her mother (and she originaly wanted her to play supporting role but Keira wanted to play Vera and I think she was exceptionally beautiful) ❤️❤️
Tommy before France
tommy before digging tunnel
Keira plays period roles the best of anyone, I think.
i've never even seen this movie but i'm in tears and i completely blame cilian(with kiera close behind) like damn
I just saw a piece of this movie and I got the tear.
Isn't Cillian so amazing? He will never get typecast
His typecast is PTSD
@@serenadavies6782 have you watched "breakfast on pluto"?
@@srymbt8470 he’s definitely got range, also inception and the Batman trilogy. So good !!
And Tommy shelby is a normal guy
It’s almost painful to look at a man so fine
I like watching Cillian movies a couple of times. The first one, I follow the plot. The second one, I only look at him. The third one, to focus on his eyes. And the list goes on.... 👀
haha same I don't even look at the other characters though, just focus on Cillian.
@@lorienschleper3215 hahahaha SAME, sometimes I rewatch the movies and I notice I didn't understand the plot at all 😂 What can I do with such a big distraction 🤷🏻♀️ (i'm always happy to find other people who understand my thirst for this man 🤭❤)
@@narunatsu1 I definitely understand. Have you watched Watching the Detectives? I thought he was so funny in that.
@@lorienschleper3215 yessss hahahaha I LOVE that movie, I watched it like 5 times 😂 The way she makes him go nuts hahaha
I watched most of his works, my fav would be inception (2009 cillian is my weakness)
The delinquent season is also good, edge of love, red eye, anna were enjoyable too. Even when some movies are crap, he's the only reason to watch 💖
Honorable mention to Anna because I do love seeing him in a suit.
Omg Tomas Shelby & Elizabeth Swan...what movie is this???!
Edge of Love is the movie's title.
@@bluebell8557 Thanks mate...watching this asap
What a brilliant actor cillian is whole movie i just felt for willian only what a powerful performance

Why did I think it would end up sadly? Beautiful video, I have never seen this film but this was recomended to me so I thought I´d watch this. I actually cried during this video, so trly amazing job!
Omg, I think I need to watch this movie....never heard of that. Thanks for the subs! One of your best artworks 😚
Amalthea11 thank you❤️ The movie was nice because I really got emotionally invested in these two.
@@bluebell8557 Can understand that, I bet I'd be too...
Well this video just gave away the entire plot so...
@@Julie.Canada not entirely. This video skipped all of the other stories.
my heart was broken when she betrayed him
Actually, even though this movie was not very popular I really liked it. Cillian was so beautiful. His eyes just hypnotized me. ❤️❤️
OML, He's soooo gorgeous
Cool. It's like watching a whole movie in 6mins. Thank!
Most of my videos are like that. Makes it more interesting to edit than just adding clips to music. Glad you enjoyed!
How can one be so beautiful, it’s insane
99% comments Cillian is beautiful ❤️
1% about Keira and the movie
BlueBell Ah, now I get what you meant and I 100% agree with what you just wrote!😊 By the way, this is an incredibly beautiful video!
@@a.c.2695 You're very sweet. I appreciate your kindness in stating your opinion.
BlueBell Thank you! I appreciate your kindness in stating your opinion as well. It is nice to be able to discuss opinions with people that don’t get mad or worked up over it.
all I saw was Elizabeth turner and Thomas Shelby
Those blue eyes , always big fan of cork boy cillan 💚
I’m just glad Keira ends up with Cillian. Otherwise I’d be heartbroken rl. Cillian is ❤️
Am I the only one where this movie broke them?
@@bluebell8557 great take , i never believed in forgiveness until i saw this movie and how William handled it, great male character
Let's agree they are the king and queen of cheekbones.
why is he so perfect ?
Gosh. They look so good together. Keira Knightley is one of the most beautiful woman that walked this earth.
Cillian Murphy is so beautiful. He is an angel from the heavens😍
Do I love this man in every movie?
-Yes, apsolluthly.
Would I even care for this man if I didn't see him on a screen, just pass him on a street?
-No.
This is perfect.. I love this movie so much 😭😭😭💙💙
What's the name of the movie?
then he back from the war and become founder of Peaky Blinders
Am I the only one who hates Vera for flirting and cheating with Dylan over this gorgeous man?

GOD Keira why do you have to be so perfect.
How gorgeous were they 😍
cillian Murphy = most beautiful jewel in the world
Thanks to my friend, I found Cillian Murphy drop dead gorgeous
I love Cillian Murphy 🥰😍
I would’ve loved to see Cillian Murphy in his younger years in more romance films. He has this old school, classic romantic essence to him.
Voice is off... I own the dvd and love the movie. They both sound like kids.
Noomwa Lis what do u mean? I haven’t changed the pitch of their voices.
@@bluebell8557 exactly as I said....voice sounds off.

Her skin is flawless
Tommy Shelby and Greta Jurossi
i feel like i just saw the whole story but i HAVE to see this movie!
bronwynalexandria dw it’s still going to be enjoyable. I didn’t put everything in the video and the movie is more than just Vera and William. I completely took out her story line with Dylan’s wife who she because best friends with and her relationship with Dylan.
I just feel bad for William
IKR!
Idk the movie but damn their child would have the strongest jaw known to man
He cannot be in peace in not even a single movie he does 😭😭 he runs but PTSD runs faster
Watched the movie tonight and identifying how Vera was being friendly asf to Dylan the whole time while William was there and gone fighting made me have memories come up about shit like that, so I already figured how bad it may turn out til I realize how he was burned to the core from what he seen in Greece then to me it was game over for Dylan's bitchass..Overall a great movie to keep you guessing what'll happen next with Vera and William, hope she tells him later about the child and they can heal🖤
what about the child?? The child was actually Williams
Yall, my first Cillian movie was the one where he’s a hot terrorist and I was young. I promised myself not to look at him again or any of the sort. He was the bad boy dream in my nightmares Is2g until I found myself watching his other movies, it was like his face kept calling to my inner desires like damnn
