Great song overall of course, but it's not "politics" itself that makes us enemies. Even John MacArthur who rarely gets involved in so-called political discussions said not long ago, he sees no way a Christian can be involved with the modern Democrat party. And he's right because nearly everything they stand for and represent is completely against Christ and God and Christianity.
Now absolutely we need to pray for these people, Communists, socialists, or whatever they may be, but we must also understand that they have an extreme hostility towards the other side - especially Christians.
As far as the "anger and violence that is spilling out into the streets" many times in recent years? I think we all know who and what is exactly behind that. Stating uncomfortable facts should not make us enemies but unfortunately some people subscribe to the belief that "truth is hate speech."
