A couple of months ago we posted a song called Train to My Hometown about a young man returning home. This song is about someone in the opposite situation. He thinks he should go but feels trapped. This is also in Open D tuning. We hope you enjoy it, and thanks for watching.

Joe is feels autobiographical to me. Is it?
@ProgRockDan1 Thanks Dan....it is partly autobiographical. I worked graveyard when I was younger and I wrote the song based on that experience. Thanks so much for your interest.
@@joedewberry I didn’t work in a factory but I worked in a hospital and we had to cover all shifts. We would rotate through each. Night shift wasn’t too bad as things generally weren’t too busy at night.

This is awesome Joe. A great composition of resignation and lost hope. It's got a real Springsteen feel to it. I can imagine this as River era or Nebraska era Bruce. It's got that same disillusionment with the dream idea running through it. A truly wonderful song. One of your best. A good one to end the year on. 😊
