My daughter loves this song. When the doctor told her she might have cancer back she turned this song up. She blamed the world and she was in tears when she heard the news. But she went to the doctors and good news she don't have cancer back. Thank you for everything you do. If you ever do a concert in Virginia I'll take my daughter to see you. Her name is Ashley and she is a big fan

Yours and Let me just say this, for the last few weeks I’ve already been feeling rock bottom, broken, stranded , and out of tears to cry. 7 years and 7 months addicted to pain killers and heroin. I have never had a song hit me the way this one did, exact replication of the way my daughters mother and I fell out, my daughters 7 years old now, I’m a. Functioning addict but the one thing I don’t have is my freedom, freedom to be who I want to be and be the damn best father I can possibly be, this song really just did it, I’m tried of being tired and letting my daughter down when I am sick , I’m out of tears I’m out of everything except for hope… my mom is terminally ill now as well and I’m literally watching her die. Over the last year and it’s destroying me watching it, I put her through hell the last 7 years with my addiction. She’s realistically maybe has a year left and I’m going to make damn sure she gets the peace of mind of me being sober before she goes. finally. I’m going to check myself into a 45 day inpatient detox program in a few days and I’ve never been so scared and excited at the same time . I’m finally there in my mind where I WANT BETTER. Sometimes you have to give up helping and walk away.
They have to want to change for themselves.
It's NOT about loving an addict. He wrote this for women enduring abuse because his mom went through it so he witnessed the abuse himself and what it did to him.
