Back in the '60s during a particularly rough night in the mid Atlantic on a 500' old style navy (AF) cargo ship (4 holds forward and 2 aft) on the mid watch in the engine room, we lost vacuum on the condensers about a half dozen times during the watch as the inlets near the midships bottom came out of the water, that created a great deal of activity in the engine room as everything slowed down, motors tripping off and lights dimming. Change of watch was a welcome relief that morning...Couldn't help thinking about that viewing this video, Thanks for posting.

Many thanks for your cooment and story. Yes, you are right, during the stormy weather you may experience a lot of "fun". When I worked on small chemical tanker once we lost propulsion a few times at heavy storm off Ireland coast due to heavy swell when propeller came out of water. We needed to restart main engine as fast as possible to avoid having the ship abeam the swell. Have a nice day!

I think hearing the creaking and cracking sounds are scarier than the waves to me. 😮 How many floors are you up from the main deck?

Согласен,это не бог весть какой шторм. Баллов девять. Доводилось попадать в реально жестокие шторма - и в Дрейке,и возле Исландии,и в той же зимней северной Атлантике. Жаль смартфона под рукой не было

It looks scary. The wind and the waves are huge. How much are you turning side to side

It was not heavy rolling by that time, about 15 degrees. A lot depends on direction of the waves.
