They should be. This whoops the taco in just about every objective measure. They just need to add sunroof, ventilated seats 60/40 rear bench and it's over. Even in this off road trim with all the goodies it still has more payload than the SR5 taco and can tow almost as much. That V6 sounds way better than the 4 banger in the taco.
It's great but not perfect. Stopping distance is poor. It has some other flaws.

This starts at $55k the Tacoma Trd Pro starts at $65k…… yeah not only do you get a twin turbo v6 but it’s 10k cheaper. Easy choice
Destroys the Tacoma. Toyota continues to sell the Tacoma with majority plastic interior even on the higher trims. Unacceptable

Around 7.00, the onscreen 4wd control can only be used on the screen, then a few moments you showed the control to select the 4wd controls on the arm rest. Do they do the same function.
I was a Toyota fan boy, but too many recalls on my 22’ Tundra has brought that to an end, not to mention the viral fail of the 24’ Tacoma on TFL. Sign me up for the new Raptor. 😊

Just purchased a Ranger Raptor Hot Pepper Red yesterday! coming from Ford F150's and 250's but needed to downsize. i only paid 2k over MSRP and was willing to do that. I have never had a newer midsized truck but i have to say, it is a blast to drive. so easy to park as well, i do not need a field to park it lol so far (still early to tell) i would recommend it!

The amber lights are only used for legal reasons..not because they look cool. Ranger Raptor isnt wide enough to incorporate them.

One quick note about the bed. They designed it so that a full sheet of plywood will fit between the wheel wells, no more leaning them over the top of a well.
I bought renger raptor 2019 . I am suffering by gear box failer.
I don't think sunroof is needed for a jumping Truck. Just my thought.

If the Jeep Mojave had the 5.7 hemi it would be better then this. But it doesn’t. So this is cooler
The thing I don’t like about them is display screen and shifter, ugly look. Why heat vent outlets are verticals especially around the display.
I am just speculating, but if the law requires that you install marker lights at 80+”, then it would be illegal to have them on vehicles 80” and below (as it would defeat the purpose) which is why Ford did not include them on the ranger. Admittedly I could be wrong, but ike many, I think that the marker lights on the F150 Raptor look awesome so Ford either could not include them on the Ranger, or they made an aesthetic mistake.
You beat me to it. Marker lights are for wide over 80" vehicles. One of the big benefits for many, is the more easy to live with size of the Ranger Raptor.
for anyone else that wants to go down the amber light rabbit hole. Nothing about not using on vehicles less than the ones listed. More safety feature more better right?

@@Defender_Tom again I could be wrong, but if it is not illegal then it is an even more ridiculous requirement. Taken to the extreme, if all trucks had marker lights then what differentiation would you have for 80” and above? I would also venture to say that >90% of Raptor buyers never run hard off road so they are already “posers” having or not having marker lights will not change that fact and if you are already spending $10k on options you will never use the expense of marker lights is irrelevant.
Its not illegal. Your logic is a bit flawed here. There is no harm to having the lights on any vehicle; they're just not required. They didn't include them here for a very simple reason... because they cost money to add.

Thry should be. I had a 24 trd pro on preorder, to trade in my 19 trd pro. When the allocation got here, they told me 65k. I canceled immediatelly, told them to go fuck themselves, and went straight to ford. Now i have a pepper red raptor coming in 2 months. Would the toyota ladt longer with less issues? UNDOUBTIBLY, but for 65k? Fuvk that

Toyota is putting lots of new Tacomas on lots. Can't sell em. They're banking on the old saying: a fool and his money are soon parted.
Really the dealer in my area is selling them like hot cakes. I do think the ranger raptor is the better choice if they were selling at msrp. Unfortunately both the TRD pro and the Ranger Raptor will have mark ups

They have been regrouping the last few years. This new ranger is second only to the Hilux worldwide. Not bad for a new design. The Aussies have done a good job with this redesign. I just wish they brought some of their ranger options here. Would love a turbo diesel and that sliding chase rack.

Sure, but you’re missing the extra power and better suspension. Pure rock crawl bison is tough to beat though

This and the Colorado/Canyon look awesome, and it is a temptation, but Ford and Chevy have cost my family so much over the years there is nothing they can do to get my business.
I want to believe these will last, I've had better luck with Ford's but Chevy has scarred me. Everyone says the transmissions on the Frontier are rock solid I'm honestly considering getting one.

Nobody is paying $30k over. Dealers can ask but up to you to negotiate sucks no matter which brand you buy. When the trail hunter and pro launch with their markups they will come right back over. Trd of for $53k is 🤡. MSRP for pro and trail hunter will be about $65k which is about raptor + $10k markup. That's how over priced Toyota has become. Their MSRP will be about the same as a raptor with huge ADM
@@marklihsu negotiating a mark up on a Ford escape vs a ranger raptor is not the same thing. Most dealerships haven't even received their ranger raptors yet and they claim they're not getting many of them so negotiating isn't going to be easy

@@marquezo They are probably just talking about their initial allotments. More trucks will come, just have to wait for production to ramp up and catch demand. People are already buying them at MSRP, once more are on the lots, the markups will completely go away. Honestly, it's probably a good idea to wait anyway, we know there are probably going to be some QC issues with these first batches of trucks being built. I'd rather let them work out some of the kinks before buying one myself.

I like the ranger raptor, but I highly doubt Toyota is terrified considering that ford hardly produces any ranger raptors
Nothing about the drive train including difference in front limited slip vs ZR2 full locker. The ZR2 is a good 7K less.

Multimatics and leaf spring suspension isnt the same as coils and live valve though. Add the power diff and it’s well worth $7K
This has a front locker, adaptive shocks, and properly tuned coil spring suspension. Based on how the ride felt in the F150 Raptor and Silverado ZR2, I’m guessing there is a pretty big gulf between these, too. I say properly tuned because the suspension in the Toyota models sucks.
Always funny when someone thinks they have a point but doesn't have a clue on what they are talking about. Ford does not have a zr2 equivalent yet. The raptor would be closer to bison the lariat with FX4 and tow doesn't have front lockers but will have a 2.7 V6. Now if they do a tremor with V6 that gets front lockers than it would be better than zr2
@@ryankunkel8247 zr2 is for those that like the looks and are ok with most of the capability raptor is for those that like the looks and has the goods to back it up. It's a good looking truck that has about 90% of the goods hence it's about 90% of the price.

The new Ranger, including the Raptor, had better achieve better reliability than the Bronco. That, and the way too high price, are the huge downside of the Ranger Raptor. And charging a dealer premium for it? Ha! Especially, since right now, I'm seeing Chevy Colorado ZR2s being discounted under MSRP. As for Toyota, the Tacoma looks to be a decent truck, but it is even more overpriced.

I'm glad that all the Rangers don't come with Sunroofs because I believe pick up trucks should never come with a sunroof ever. If you want a sunroof get a SUV I had many issues with sunroofs and they are very costly to fix if it breaks or even leaks. Which I had issuse with sunroofs in other vehicles I owned before. And if I ever get another vehicle I won't be getting a sunroof I have one in my current vehicle and the sunroof leaked with water coming in thank God the headliner was not moldy so I was able to use the same headliner but when the sunroof goes very costly to fix or replace it's not worth it in my opinion to have a sunroof.

Watch majority of your videos, but this one takes the cake. Ford messed up a great name doing this to the Bronco and Ranger. There just something special about the F150 Raptor. Bronco and Ranger are not raptors and don't hold a light to the battle proven F150. I guess they do what they can to make money on these 2 light weights. Can't believe people actually buy this crap
Since the raptor came out no one had any negative views on it until now, I can tell you it's a great buy. Not everyone likes that big F150 or the bigger raptor, not all the time bigger means better.

Raptors are a bro truck when all the tacos that have been reviewed have a 1200lb payload ok sure. Raptor has 1350 lbs even with all the off-road goodies. None of the tacos will have a front locker or a V6. You're talking like the MSRP trail hunter and pro of $65k will not have adm. They are already telling TRD of for $53k. Solar octane the color of choice for the Brocoma . The taco is the literal definition of a bro truck.
