I think what the Apostle is saying is just simple, just let the Holy Spirit guide you. He didn’t say if you are a woman and you cover your head is a sin, what he meant is that even if you cover your physical hair and yet do not submit to your husband you are still not under any covering. Physically you have covered your hair spiritually u have not. It’s just simple

Countless of times God has told me that women should cover Their hair when praying and when going to church and coming to the Lord presence. I told my wife and she didn’t believe it we were on a three days fasting and prayers and the Lord revealed it to her and she started practicing.

There is need for a woman to cover her hair with headscarf when she's prays or prophesy in the church. Long hair is a covering for a woman not when she's praying or prophesying but when she's not or at home or outside. I don't also agree to him on this and like I asked someone somewhere, do we as Nigerians have long hair? If we don't have long hair, it means we don't even have anything to argue and our women must cover in the church while they pray or prophesy.
I disagree. That passage talks about two things which are headship AND covering. For the man he said "Covered" but for the woman he said "UNcovered". If "covering" in that passage meant submission to earthly headship (a dishonour) then "UNcovering" should NOT have also been a (dishonour) like covering because "Covering" and "UNcovering" are OPPOSITE things. Verse 6 of 1Cor. 11 makes it even clearer that the covering is material covering. Read all the verses for more insight. 1Cor. 11:1-15. The letter indeed killeth!!! The Bible is not a literary piece but a Spiritual fountain of wisdom. People like to take away things from context and forget that the Bible has mysteries that must be uncovered by the help of the Holy Spirit. Paul in that same scripture indicated that the hair of the woman was her covering ( 1 Cor 11:15), he never spoke of a cloth or a scarf because what must be covered is the head and not the hair. But Paul is even talking more deeply than just mere covering of head, he’s expounding on the concept of headship and the covering a woman has over her husband. When you read this 1 Cor 11 with Prov 31, it gives you an indication of the woman’s role in the life of man among other scriptures. Let’s stop taking the Bible literally and seek the Holy Spirit for His wisdom in the Word. Same thing Paul spoke of concerning marriage in Ephesians. People always forget at the tail end, he indicated that what He spoke was a mystery and He was actually referring to Christ and the Church. The scripture he quoted said: "A man or woman praying or prophesying...", displays an adverbial clause of time, meaning "whenever" action of prayer or prophesying is engaged, then "a man" must not cover his head as a sign that he is under Yahshua's headship and for a woman, she MUST BE COVERED, remember it's only "when" prayer/prophesying is engaged, outside such activity, she can be uncovered, now, her head covering means she is under the covering of her husband and Yah n Yahshua sees her thru her submission in honoring her husband even in worship activity. Based on my experience there was a time I was praying putting on hair net but I heard a voice clearly said I didn't cover my hair so I have to cover my hair properly before I had peace with in me.

Sir, with all due respect. You said this because you have not probably travelled far, there are many race where the hair of men are naturally long. The biggest problem in bible interpretation is when we make literal translation from comparison. Again, never equate a personal instruction to a general doctrine for The church. There are person-specific consecration don't translate that into a general doctrine for The church.
There are many laws guiding bible interpretation. The biggest problem is that many pastors ain't trained to be skillful in the word. So they teach at their level and make their members feel anything else outside that is an error. There are cultural interpretation based on who the passed is addressed to. Imagine we start exchanging holy kiss. That's not an African culture. That part cannot be taking literally. There's the place of understanding the root word and the context it was used. May God give us all understanding.

She should be covered, with her long hair. To have short hair, like a man, means that she is basically bald. Therefore uncovered.

I do not agree with this, for it is stated very clear and simple that the Lord is talking about both spiritual headship and it physical symbolism. If not, that same chapter wouldn't have talk about shaving of hair and keeping of long hair, to symbolize we are under authority during the public worship. Come to think of it, what does shaving of hair has to do with spiritual headship if God doesn't want us to live it practical example, as a symbolism to what he was explaining. So this same scripture is talking about the authority of God over men and that of men, over women, and also instructed us to live it practically on earth so as to symbolize a physical sign that we are under authority, and that we are abiding by its rules, such as the same way we practically go to church on Sunday to worship God, in order to symbolize that law which says, "Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy... " or does that mean we do not worship God in spirit and in truth? Or those that mean does that mean God cannot answer prayer if we do not pray from the temple? We only remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy as d lord commanded. And for the persons that made reference to water baptism at the comment section, the scripture didn't say any Water, the scripture stated it very clear and simple to understand, that it is River... If not the apostle could have just baptize people any how by using the pool at their backyard or water in bowl, but the Bible stated it clear that the baptism shld be done by the river. Hello Brethren, I love your exegesis of the word and your reply to the comments. When you mention the sabbath as an example,i believe you ahould know we dont keep that law. First of all, sabbath is meant to be the last day of the week exodus 20:10, and we arenot meant to work on that day exodus 31:14, which means even though we keep that law partially now, the bibke wasnot interpreted and lived literally on that. Which means this can be applied to other parts of the bible as well, when you understand the history of the bible, you will understand that it was interpreted from Many languages, the 1 Corinthians was written in hebrew, so i believe going back to the original text helps alot when things like this happen. When i checked the original text, it explains that a man that prays or prophesies with his head covered (that is against God) dishonours God, you can confirm this please. The preposition that stands for with his head covered is KATA, do check the original text, and this applies downwards.

I love Apostle but this doesn’t really make sense. To say this scripture doesn’t have to do with head ties does not fit the context of the verse. It says in 1st Corinthians 11:15 that long hair is given to a woman as a covering. Wouldn’t that mean that the chapter is in part talking about a woman’s hair being physically covered?
Don't make a big deal out of this, cover you hair if you want, the hair forms part of a ladies beauty(her glory)...but if you do the physical covering so well and neglect the spiritual one which is more important, you would be cheap meat for the devil to ride on.... Hence diligence in physical covering of the hair without the spiritual covering is HYPOCRISY with a red flag. Furthermore this explanation might not be necessary but for that verse 15, it speaks of having a longer hair which is rare and highly adorable to behold, hence you are advised to cover it not to constitute a distraction in the congregation. As stated in the scripture the longer hair is her glory and in a congregation of saints only one Glory should be beheld and that's the Glory of God, and God will not share his Glory with any man..selah!

Apostle has preached on this before. He's wrong. He made an eisegesis and contradicted lines in that scripture. But he will understand later too. May God grant us sight. The focus of 1 Corinthians is different. Actually, that doctrine requires ONLY married or bethrothed women to cover their head in worship. It's for safety in the Body life. Vs 17 draws the finality.

The problem with how people interpret this passage obviously shows a lack of the full meaning of trinity. Jesus is not under God. He's the manifestation of God. He's in consonance with the Godhead. That's what was interpreted as Jesus submitting to the Father. He and the Father are one. The decree of oneness doesn't place one above the other. No. There's no personality disorder or schim such that they operate separately, with Jesus under God. This is crucial for those in marriage to understand. The power of oneness. Its a mystery only those who are enlightened by the Spirit can apprehend. The man has to entirely give up himself in marriage for him to cleave to his wife. The woman also will no longer be same as she cleaves and they assume a new identity completely. That new identity in marriage is supported by God and has the ability to manifest divine powers. Another error I often see in interpretation is reading the word of God out of context. Apostle Paul sometimes use cultural norms to explain spiritual principles. This head covering matter is one of such. Those interested should do a research on the tradition and culture of people that Apostle Paul wrote to in the New Testament. You'd be surprised what you will uncover.

There is need for a woman to cover her hair with headscarf when she's prays or prophesy in the church. Long hair is a covering for a woman not when she's praying or prophesying but when she's not or at home or outside. I don't also agree to him on this and like I asked someone somewhere, do we as Nigerians have long hair? I disagree. That passage talks about two things which are headship AND covering. For the man he said "Covered" but for the woman he said "UNcovered". If "covering" in that passage meant submission to earthly headship (a dishonour) then "UNcovering" should NOT have also been a (dishonour) like covering because "Covering" and "UNcovering" are OPPOSITE things.

The letter indeed killeth!!! The Bible is not a literary piece but a Spiritual fountain of wisdom. People like to take away things from context and forget that the Bible has mysteries that must be uncovered by the help of the Holy Spirit. Paul in that same scripture indicated that the hair of the woman was her covering ( 1 Cor 11:15), he never spoke of a cloth or a scarf because what must be covered is the head and not the hair. But Paul is even talking more deeply than just mere covering of head, he’s expounding on the concept of headship and the covering a woman has over her husband. When you read this 1 Cor 11 with Prov 31, it gives you an indication of the woman’s role in the life of man among other scriptures. Let’s stop taking the Bible literally and seek the Holy Spirit for His wisdom in the Word. Same thing Paul spoke of concerning marriage in Ephesians. People always forget at the tail end, he indicated that what He spoke was a mystery and He was actually referring to Christ and the Church. However, while we stress on how important it is for women to submit and men to love, etc, we forget that we as the bride of Christ need not neglect our role to submit to Him, and we keep on moving about our days with our own will. Wisdom would have entailed that he stop at the exposition and not the prescription. In 1 Cor 11:10, St. Paul adds that the woman should wear a covering not only for the sake of the man, but also "because of the angels." This fact also reveals the head covering requirement is a divine command and a spiritual duty which transcends cultural or scietal factors.

Sir, with all due respect. You said this because you have not probably travelled far, there are many race where the hair of men are naturally long. The biggest problem in bible interpretation is when we make literal translation from comparison. Again, never equate a personal instruction to a general doctrine for The church. There are person-specific consecration don't translate that into a general doctrine for The church.
There are many laws guiding bible interpretation. The biggest problem is that many pastors ain't trained to be skillful in the word. So they teach at their level and make their members feel anything else outside that is an error. There are cultural interpretation based on who the passed is addressed to. Imagine we start exchanging holy kiss. That's not an African culture. That part cannot be taking literally. There's the place of understanding the root word and the context it was used. May God give us all understanding.
As usual, most christians will miss the message (which is mainly about God's authority) to start arguing about physical things (the tying of scarves). Ask yourself: which of these - your spiritual or physical condition - can actually determine whether or not you make heaven? I do not agree with this, for it is stated very clear and simple that the Lord is talking about both spiritual headship and it physical symbolism. If not, that same chapter wouldn't have talk about shaving of hair and keeping of long hair, to symbolize we are under authority during the public worship. Come to think of it, what does shaving of hair has to do with spiritual headship if God doesn't want us to live it practical example, as a symbolism to what he was explaining. So this same scripture is talking about the authority of God over men and that of men, over women, and also instructed us to live it practically on earth so as to symbolize a physical sign that we are under authority, and that we are abiding by its rules, such as the same way we practically go to church on Sunday to worship God, in order to symbolize that law which says, "Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy... " or does that mean we do not worship God in spirit and in truth? Or those that mean does that mean God cannot answer prayer if we do not pray from the temple? We only remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy as d lord commanded. And for the persons that made reference to water baptism at the comment section, the scripture didn't say any Water, the scripture stated it very clear and simple to understand, that it is River... If not the apostle could have just baptize people any how by using the pool at their backyard or water in bowl, but the Bible stated it clear that the baptism shld be done by the river. Hello Brethren, I love your exegesis of the word and your reply to the comments. When you mention the sabbath as an example,i believe you ahould know we dont keep that law. First of all, sabbath is meant to be the last day of the week exodus 20:10, and we arenot meant to work on that day exodus 31:14, which means even though we keep that law partially now, the bibke wasnot interpreted and lived literally on that. Which means this can be applied to other parts of the bible as well, when you understand the history of the bible, you will understand that it was interpreted from Many languages, the 1 Corinthians was written in hebrew, so i believe going back to the original text helps alot when things like this happen. When i checked the original text, it explains that a man that prays or prophesies with his head covered (that is against God) dishonours God, you can confirm this please. The preposition that stands for with his head covered is KATA, do check the original text, and this applies downwards.

I love Apostle but this doesn’t really make sense. To say this scripture doesn’t have to do with head ties does not fit the context of the verse. It says in 1st Corinthians 11:15 that long hair is given to a woman as a covering. Wouldn’t that mean that the chapter is in part talking about a woman’s hair being physically covered?
Do you really think Paul was talking about covering of hair? The passage is about headship (authority) not so call covering of hair or head

Don't make a big deal out of this, cover you hair if you want, the hair forms part of a ladies beauty(her glory)...but if you do the physical covering so well and neglect the spiritual one which is more important, you would be cheap meat for the devil to ride on....
Hence diligence in physical covering of the hair without the spiritual covering is HYPOCRISY with a red flag.
Furthermore this explanation might not be necessary but for that verse 15, it speaks of having a longer hair which is rare and highly adorable to behold, hence you are advised to cover it not to constitute a distraction in the congregation.
As stated in the scripture the longer hair is her glory and in a congregation of saints only one Glory should be beheld and that's the Glory of God, and God will not share his Glory with any man..selah!

Apostle has preached on this before. He's wrong. He made an eisegesis and contradicted lines in that scripture. But he will understand later too. May God grant us sight. The focus of 1 Corinthians is different. Actually, that doctrine requires ONLY married or bethrothed women to cover their head in worship. It's for safety in the Body life.
Vs 17 draws the finality.
Paul was addressing the Corinthians churches. Moreover in the Jewish community men cover their head to read the scroll or pray in the synagogues. Let's leave the judgement to God.

This is a deep spiritual teachings on the Headship of Christ, yet some people would rather remain chained to religiosity. "...it has been given unto you to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given". (Matthew 13:11)Better to learn from those to whom the mysteries have been given unto, than to continue to be a baby christian lacking spiritual insight. Most of the Bible is metaphorical, thereby requiring a constant communication, submission and intimacy with the Holy Spirit to TEACH us this mysteries.(John 14:26). Many still pursue the letter of the law, rather than the SPIRIT of the law in Christ Jesus.(Romans 8:2). The problem with how people interpret this passage obviously shows a lack of the full meaning of trinity. Jesus is not under God. He's the manifestation of God. He's in consonance with the Godhead. That's what was interpreted as Jesus submitting to the Father. He and the Father are one. The decree of oneness doesn't place one above the other. No. There's no personality disorder or schim such that they operate separately, with Jesus under God. This is crucial for those in marriage to understand. The power of oneness. Its a mystery only those who are enlightened by the Spirit can apprehend. The man has to entirely give up himself in marriage for him to cleave to his wife. The woman also will no longer be same as she cleaves and they assume a new identity completely. That new identity in marriage is supported by God and has the ability to manifest divine powers.
Another error I often see in interpretation is reading the word of God out of context. Apostle Paul sometimes use cultural norms to explain spiritual principles. This head covering matter is one of such. Those interested should do a research on the tradition and culture of people that Apostle Paul wrote to in the New Testament. You'd be surprised what you will uncover.

Jesus operated under the headship of his heavenly Father.
Men must operate under the headship of Jesus Christ.
Women must operate under the headship of their husbands or else the anointing on them can come under attack.

When I newly became a believer, this was a hot topic. But one question I always ask is that why does the Holy Spirit come on women who are not covering their hair. If the Holy Spirit who reveals the mind of God deem them acceptable before God then who are we to condemn whom the Holy Spirit has not condemned. I think about this, too. If the Holy Spirit is against it, He wouldn't have manifested through women when their hair is uncovered
God manifest through people doesn't mean he is with them,
If you look at the donkey that spoke and warned the prophet that was going to cause the children of isreal to commit sin and break the covering of God upon them would you say that the donkey was acceptable by God ?
There are times God manifest even through people who are not in tune with his word but that doesn't mean he accepts their person

The priest had a headdress...were they removing(the mitre or whatever name it had) when ministering before God?...if you pray with a hat on....will the prayers fall to the ground?..will God ignore your prayers?...will the devil take them up because of a cap? Does God watch to see whether the ones praying have a cap/hat on/off before answering prayers?...are faith prayers null and void when one has a cap on?...is it sin to have a cap on when praying?...or wearing one if your are in an attitude of prayer most of the time?
