This video - exactly why i'm not getting implants. I am immunocompromised. I had 3 failed root canals, all severely painful abscesses and all surgically removed (at different times in the last decade). Dentists keep telling me I need to replace them with implants, there isn't a cats chance in hell I'd let anyone drill down into those areas I've already had severe infection and abscesses in previously. I'd rather jump off a bridge after the infections and pain i've suffered!! 2 abscesses showed clearly on the cbct, one didn't show at all but when they extracted (at my insistence) the dentist said "oh there's a big abscess under here" Some people's bodies just do not cope with foreign bodies from implants and/or root canals. I've had more metronizadole than anyone should have in 5 lifetimes 😪😪😪
Thank you for sharing. I have someone dear to me who is immunocompromised as well, and has been wondering if he will need implants in the future. We will take this aspect into consideration.
Ok I think I messed up. Is it called zirconia or zirconia ceramic implants? Or are they the same? I was in a car wreck & my gum nerves were severed & I need a total mouth overhaul. The zirconia is the one I'm being adviced to get. What's your opinion. May I say you have a beautiful smile. Thank you so much 🇺🇸
Dr Gurs, How bad or easy is the recovery of a removal process with the trephine? and this case Is it always mandatory to do bone graft (when the trephine was used)?
thanks for explaining this situation so clearly, its very thought provoking. so what is the process to clear a pre existing infection, (what blood tests, antibiotics, cleaning, etc!) and if infection isn't completely irradicated does this mean implants can't be renewed. or even had in the first place? thanks
In the vast majority of dental infections, if the source of the infection (tooth or implant) is removed, then the infection would clear. (Assuming that the person is generally fit and healthy)
HI Dr. Gurs, Thank you for your amazing informational Videos you put out. My name is Mateen, I went to a local general dentist for having some minor pain and inflamed gum in my upper left. After taking a x-ray finding out that one of my crowns was cracked and apparently caused infection down there which damaged the 2 teeth where I had crown on both, number 13 and 14 . He extracted out both teeth and recommended that I should get implants there. He also informed me that I don't have enough bone density so he has to do a bone grafts without telling me or get my consent in writing by making it sound not a big deal and can be done in one hour. He puts there an Oliograph which apparently now I know was real bone from other humans not to mention after cutting the gum more now my last tooth number 15 still hurts when I chew on hard and crunchy nuts. which makes me mad. If he had explained all the procedure in advance, I would've not agreed to any of it. In fact, I asked him to remove it from my mouth after I found out what it was but he refused. Luckily, My body took it well and no infection or rejection. What he used was " Vera Particular Bone, grafts" All this done about 2 months ago.. What are your thoughts, Should I get it removed by another dentist or it's harmless the grafts? After watching your videos I don't think I do wanted to go with an implant.:) or you think I should get implant?
Good question, I have very little hands on experience. They used to be terrible because they break, but I think technologies have improved a lot recently
I'm surprised, this is normally a very successful treatment. Often it's possible to have the failed implant replaced, and it should become more comfortable
Doctor Could you please help me. I am in need of a good opinion. I had done my implant in 2021. In May 2022 my implant crown was placed. All my problem started when my crown was fixed. As per my x-ray my implant is well placed. But, whenever my crown is fixed I experience puss around my implant. I had changed my doctor, he did his best, my deep cleaning and replacing my crown. Within one month of crown fixed I had experience puss once again. My doctor had tols me before that removal of implant is risky, so wnd option would be to keep the implant as it is and replace the crown with screw and seal the gum. Is this option good. Please guid me Sir. I have spend alot but result is not upto mark. Please requesting you to please guide me
So if you remove the implants, and have to do a bone grafts and the area must heal for several months.....what does the person use during that time, so that they can eat, etc..
Hello Doctor Gurs Sehmi as i know the Zirconium implants are healthier for the human body, but are they also remuvable and is it harder or easier than the other one.Have you ever removed a Zirconium implants and pls share some experience 🙏🙏🙏,, sorry for my English.
Unfortunately I also removed my dental implants.. Now m experiencing ear pain. I place it left it place crown teeth n after that I experience bone loss. Thn I removed them placed again. And finally last evening I removed them... 🤙I prefer to remain toothless now and want to completely forget about the entire 3 year of my treatment
Hello how is your ear pain now, i was thinking about implant removal too and heard one person was having headache after removal so is removal a good option.
Yep only if ur doctor is expert in removing it anyways it will hurt while removing them. If it is inside your jaw fr years. Currently I m ok. U can go fr Immediate implants after recovery. Currently I have partial denture fr my two tooth 🦷which I have unscrewed last April. Wish u all the best n dnt be scared
@@drgurssehmi im might see you, im near slough, and i have had UL5 removed after a misdiagnosed infection which couldnt be seen in the xray and only on the cbct, and i have a UL4 which is causing me problems so, i may need two guided implants

Thanks for your video. If 2 missing teeth are next to each other and there's enough space is it better to do 2 implants or an implant bridge?
There are so many variables, like the amount of space, which teeth they are, what loading they will get. Sorry, can't give you a proper answer.
Hello dr.can implants removal cause oral cancer due to big mess with jaw bone n gums

You don't always need a bone graft and the temp teeth depend on the individual situation
@@drgurssehmi Okay....I got you that! And thanks for the prompt reply!!

I think there is a higher chance of cracking up while trying to unscrew.
What’s the strongest implant that you can get?
The implant strength doesn't matter, the junction between the implant and the bone is more important. The bigger the implant, the stronger it is
I believe it's ceramic implants.

Can you just screw them out?
Sometimes you can, but it's hardly as easy as the ones in the video. Those were just terrible implants
