From the video of one pooping, it looks like it isn't a quick process, but do they ever unexpectedly just go on anything? Asking as someone who had chinchillas for years, and they just go all over the place. At least it's easy clean-up...

The places where they poop are random. If I had to say, frogs often poop in the water.
as a fellow amphibian owner (two toads and a frog) I can confirm that the water dish is often where they like to poop
