The garage videos, as in the Battlefield Garage, are what drew me in years ago, the friendship, the camaraderie, the interaction between you guys. I am glad to see it still is a driving force as things have moved on for you guys. I would humbly offer that it will always come back to that...the interaction between friends, working on their stuff, and going riding.
Agreed man, they always come out with quality build and awesome content I honestly miss the ripper vids on the trail and races but 2jp takes tuning priority
Beast mode has just been THAT animal from day one! She doesn't fuss, she doesn't fight she takes WHATEVER you throw at her... smiles threw ANY mod (good or bad) and does her beast mode thang and crushes competition LOL!! Her mode is beast fellas and thats the code she lives by and that being said excellent job guys...LONG LIVE BEAST MODE!! (P.S This is my sons graduation speech i stole..seemed to fit)? 🤷
How do these guys not have 1 million subscribers. They’re doing some cool shit. I like the new garage channel to. 2jp is a badass unit now. Now it’s time for a upgraded paint job. With sxsblog on it somewhere too. keep it up fellas. Badass channel. P.s. Doug who cares what the haters say.
Your from arizona too bro ? I always see your comments not only on here but other channels I watch also and finally checked your channel out and looks like your from az ?
I’m pretty new to the channel but I’m rapidly becoming a big SXS vlog guy... The machines are very cool but you gents are what really make it entertaining 🤜🤛
Can I say, at the 21 minute mark, that is some truthful advice. Most people half ass it through life than wonder why they get half as far (if that) as others. Just do a decent job with everything you do and you will find success and fortune.
I neer knew mich about engines but I always wanted to learn. You guys are slowly but surely teaching me. Almost enough to wanna start suping up my base mode. Myself
Awesome love the videos. Nuckle busting torque turning tunes and builds. That's what brought me here years ago that and climbing pellets in the wild cat lol. But just a bunch of bros in a garage love it.
You guys should look into Mathews precision bench top mills and lathes. Would be a great tool for your shop. I got one a month ago and love the mill. 220v single phase.
tons of honda guys do this typically though we pull the engine out then fill the coolant ports with sugar salt etc then fill the block. also use straws or dowels to drill holes around the cylinders for cooling
Hey to get great dust and Debris protection with you air filter. Take a look at AFE filters. They are a high filter high flow. They out preform K&N filters hands down. They are costly.
I have a feeling if you guys do a lot more videos like this your subscribers will begin to ascend rapidly. This is how the channel started got a good chunk of your subscribers then you met Cletus and hasta and gained a lot of subscribers also. But I have a feeling if you keep this up you can get closer to that million subscriber mark
I think you guys should enter the King of the HAMMERS NEXT YR. What u got to loose! Now that would be killer 🤘 I'm betting Evo will sponsor your team along with a few othere
Very cool, Smart idea about the cement block I’ve heard of a lot of people using that or an epoxy to stuffing things up. Good luck and look forward to seeing how much it rips !
Never used hardblock, but my understanding is it is better to use it at the top of the jackets then the bottom. I have see guys fill the bottom with sugar and pour the hardblock on top and dissolve out the sugar.
Yep that is how Honda guys do it. They also use the head gasket as a guide to drill holes into the cement so the coolant is able to pass through the water jacket. I think this engine will over heat since they didn't drill any holes and there is no empty space at the bottom of the water jacket. Only time will tell, not talking crap, it is an experiment after all, best of luck to the SXS blog guys.
Hey SXSBLOG, if you want your valves to seal better let me know. I'm a valve face grinder and the valves we send out are FAR better than any OEM out there. Dodge actually has ALL their valves sent to us and I grind them to a .0001 to .0008 runout. I've put OEM valves from GM, Ford, Mopar, CAT and the best OEM runout (ask Doug, he should know what that means) I've seen is .002-.0025. So if ur lookin for better sealing, I'm ur guy. And I live in Michigan to, just a yooper not a troll.
You guys a great lol I think if your trying it it's because you give it a 50 / 50 chance of it working so I can't wait to see what happens am saying it's going to work anybody willing to bet against me and the S&S Blog guys ?????
I don’t thank what you guys are doing is that Jenkee with filling the sleeves I’ve seen people do that for years with lots of success I think it’s going to be Golden pony boy🤘🏻
Hell yeah, cement that block. Learning from the honda guys, I also did it to my volvo white block. It does wonders for aluminum blocks You didn't have to use sugar/salt underneath the cement to protect the coolant passages?
As a machinist, I'd say this is a pretty bold play on the headstud install, but I like your style guys. The wrong way to do the right thing maybe? Either way I really hope it works! Give er boys!
We have a 434 small block that runs on alcohol in a dragster that has cement in the block and that’s from a big name motor builder “shafrioff” makes around 800hp runs low 5s
Ooo you guys are good, you said you got carrilo pistons an forged rods..... That's plenty. SEND IT! I think it's gonna be a ripper with the cement block. Probably loose a bit of cooling but it's basically a drag utv at this point
On KSR's video the other day, he was smoothing off all the sharp edges on the Elco's new head. I think he said it was to minimize unwanted detonation. I might be wrong about that though.
I hope it doesn't happen but I'm thinking I seen this video already. Ya know where there is a window in the block where there isn't supposed to be one. Best of luck guy's. Keep up the good work!!
Best quote! 😂😂👌🏻 Doug: “I mean, overall I think we did a pretty decent job.” Leo: “All you really need to get through in life is a halfway decent job at whatever you’re doing, like as long as you don’t half ass every single thing that you do.. you’ll get somewhere.. it’s not hard. Most people?.. pfft, big half asser’s though.”
Could you put some strips down the side of the bore that you can pull out after you add the cement and allow for more coolant to travel up and down the outside of the cylinder? Maybe drill some holes in the cement to allow for a little cylinder cooling? Guess that all depends on whether it starts overheating or not.
LOL ..Call me for your grouting needs ..I have been using grout for 21 years now..CONTEMPORARY TILE here in Alabama..Good Stuff here guys..LOve your vids..BIG dog

The fact you guys are doing this big HP build the same way anyone on a budget would means a lot! Get power anyway possible and hope it holds.

we did the engine block filler in our dirt track engines. they turned 8500rpm around a track for 20 to 30 hard laps. we never had a issue.
Can't wait to see how that thing holds up with the cemented block. 500hp is insane for a stock sxs block
Love it when Doug Cobble-Field makes an appearance... such a rare talent.
“He’s the Charlie Daniels of the torque wrench.”
Well congrats Leo. I hope it works well and lasts till they release the billet blocks. Good luck and great video.

This is what I'm talking about boys this reminds me of the old days good old shop build videos

Gonna be late to work catching up on Big Dog stuff this morning. Always worth it. Love you guys!
damn hand form tapping! that's quite impressive! nice job not messing that whole process up its a lot to do by hand!!

I knew doug was gonna say cement the block.
You expect anything less from us lol
I have hard blocked many of small block chevys! It helps, cooling gets to be a issue on the street.
Form taps are also known as roll taps. We use them at work sometimes and they work awesome.
Just run an oil cooler or a larger oil cooler. Plus a cooler thermostat. I filled my 5.9L Cummins and did that same setup worked great.

Need to build a bounty hole build . With 400hp and 8"portals and 50s
Shirt idea: you should have a shirt with like 1-10 going down the and it say bunk or how ever you spell it on it and put what was in the bunk list

Typically cylinder leak down is performed @ 90 psi. Not all, but most testers are calibrated at that pressure.
