I spent a while in T&T in 1990 with the british army, met tambu thro some T&T defence force boys. I cant believe I have managed to find this tune again (thank jah for UA-cam). I had such a good time I was seriouly thinking of going AWOL (seriously). Went to my first jump up, had my first roach and was taught to dance properly by a very fat old grandmother (she could still move tho). Twenty years later I can still remember party boats, jump ups, carib, RUM/cokes & taxi buses. loved it
So what's keeping you from coming back bro?? It has gotten even better uknow!! 😂 Become an "XPath Trini" yes. Bring 10 friends and pardners when you coming, we have plenty Rum to share😂😂😂
To the person who disliked this song, you have the right to remain silent. You have the right to.... REMAIN SILENT.! If you had 2% of Tambu's talent you would think you were a GOD. Please allow us who like Tambu's music to enjoy it and as I said.. YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO REMAIN..........S I L E N T .
I remember 1993 Toronto caribana we were going home the train suddenly stopped. I was 13 never forgot how a man just stood up and started singing no no we ain’t home. The black people on train all got up started singing and dancing the non black folks were clapping and hitting the railing on beat. We could also hear the people for the other carts singing with us. For like 15 mins it what we did while us kids was whining down the train in our costumes.
Our Bro was always unstoppable, and even still is when he went closer to our Almighty, but hey, He's an Education Officer too. But don't forget Pelham Goddard the Master of Charlie's Roots. Still Standing Strong "God Willing" EXODUS Massive!

Twenty six years old and this song could still mash up a party . They don't sing calypso like this anymore. 155 people who never go to a carnival fete.
Oh goooosssshhhhhh!!!!! Eeeeehhhhh!!!! No No...... take me back to my childhood. Jamming to this song as my uncle was spinning the record in his lab..... El Socorro.......
Tambu's last Road March, No No We Eh Going Home from 1990. Then he disappears to Berkeley, people are dumbstruck!! Afterwards, he leaves kaiso, Carnival & the stage behind for the church- now just like Ras Shorty I (1941-2000), Mighty Sparrow (Gospelypso) & Denyse Plummer Tambu is known mostly for Gospel music.
This will sound real good Carnival Monday 5.00pm-6.00pm on the Avenue in Carnival Y2K13. Any takers on the idea.....u could add 'On the count of 4' - Second Image. We need to remind the youths about the beauty of this era of great SOCA music. Keep the Positive Alive.
@alsio2 Well said! I agree with you alsio2! Who disliked Tambu's song? Is not really a Soca Lover! Like the rest of we! LOL! Let dem pipe down in silence! So we can enjoy Tambu's earlier work as a calypsonian! Thanks for speaking up! You have guts! I appreciate it! We need to stand up for what believe in! Merry Christmas & Happy New Year 2011! Enjoy!
@slimsiedah Yes it is. That's David Rudder. You hear in the background vocals of Tambu's "No No We Eh Going Home". He was credited as background vocals. On Tambu's 1990 album The Cry on Lypsoland. Thanks for commenting. Enjoy your weekend.
@@riyadhrafique8377 Yes he was a replacement as lead vocalist. Filling in for Tambu until he recovered and able to get his voice back to sing again with he the band Charlie's Roots. Pelham was so impressed with David's gift as a singer of lead vocalist. I guess? Pelham and the other band members of Charlie's Roots? Decided to keep both fellow singers to sing lead and have their own composition of their own songs.
I am 72. I was part of all this. Nobody like him at the time. As part of the T&T Police Service and the Police Band, Tambu was it.
Blessings ❤️💛💚

how music was long ago. no lewd lyrics and music sweeter than songs these days
But if you use imagination you can see those songs are nasty too, but I love them, soca is life
yes but they had a certain class. Caribbean music definitely is suggestive..but had class long time
it took some people years to figure out what some of the songs meant, not now.
@@wonderlust856 A true.
