- This week we are exploring Bend Oregon. We've absolutely loved exploring the cascades region of Oregon and have found 3 amazing free camping locations to boondock near Bend Oregon. Now that we're full time on the road, vanlife boondocking is a way of life. We have to find a new location every few days to park our home and these three free camping locations near bend Oregon are some of our favorites!

Late night pulling into an ioverlander spot, tired and totally unsure what you'll find...I know that feeling so well. But it's usually surprisingly great
We have been consistently amazed at the spots we find, even now we are down in Mexico, same feeling everytime!

FYI, better to urinate in the soil and not on asphalt. That way the next person doesn’t have to smell warm pee, step in it or have their dogs step in it and track into the car etc. Something to think about. Thanks!

Nice spots. I’d vote for the one with the least mosquitos. Must be a little weird arriving after dark not sure what you are going to wake up to. Looks like you two are regularly blessed with good fortune and beautiful scenery.

The first was also my favorite. The mountain view made it perfect. 🏔 But food trumps all. Lamb for dinner and someone else is cooking? I would have stayed for that. 🍗

The bumpy road you were on used to be called a corduroy road...very common in backwoods areas all over the country.
I don't like corduroy pants and I don't like corduroy roads LOL Hopefully we don't hit too many more but it sounds like we're destined to!

I'm disabled and trying to learn how to get outdoors safely with my service dog. Are there any links you could recommend? I am currently in Portland and I don't feel safe camping around here. I try to leave the city every chance I get. Currently studying psych and paralegal cert. A pleasure to meet ya all. My dream would be to find free land to camp on that is safe and navigatable in the Prius. Then continue my studies in the woods until the snow falls ✌️🐾
Do you have the iOverlander app? Or the apps 'dyrt' 'Sekr' or 'freecampsites.net'? These are all great resources to safe easy places to camp for free. There are so many resources online now you can pretty much roll into any town and find somewhere free and safe to sleep!

3 yrs boon docking, so far, with quad, van, kayak............ fyi.....the difference between a good hair cut and. bad hair cut.....3 wks.

fyi, worst road, ever....outside of cloud croft, New Mexico......5 miles an hour, top speed, super bumpy, mostly rock.
Yea that was a pretty bad road we hit to get to that spot but it was totally worth it when we got to camp there.
Why would you pee in the middle of the road? Gross. Maybe step off the road into a bush? Are you even from Oregon? I don't know any Oregonian that do that.
When you got to go you got to go. We poured water on it after just couldn't hold it in at that point.
